Born and raised in Kibbutz Nir Oz, just a mile from Gaza, Yair recounts the trauma his family endured: both his parents were taken hostage, with his mother held in underground tunnels for 49 days, while his sister and her children hid in their safe room. His father, Gadi, was kidnapped while trying to protect his loved ones and is still being held hostage. Tragically, his father’s partner was killed.
