Episode description

In 1936 the over-dramatic exploitation film Reefer Madness was released in the US. The film depicts the effects of Marijuana, the new, Mexican super drug "taking over teenagers lives" across the country. The film included racism, murder and suicide and even attempted rape, leading to "Marihuana tax act of 1937" and the criminalization of Hemp. But was this deeper? Was the economy in danger, was the government involved?
