Still struggling with the inherent violence that brews in misinformed and careless religious and other teachings. Changes taking place, not quickly enough to get to Leelah Alcorn or her family. Seeking, too, to find ways to challenge us all to do more - however we may. .

"It is not what it is" - it must be different. We have long been called to make the "difference." This sermon was delivered at Downtown United Presbyterian Church, Rochester, NY on Sunday, July 28, 2013. The mission I serve, That All May Freely Serve (www.tamfs.org), is centered here. Colossians 2:6-19; Luke 11:1-13

A brief commentary about the great shift that many feel is taking place in our lives, faith communities and the broader world. A friend calls this "the great ontological ache of our times." That and more, I think! Blog can be found at www.graciousunion.org And please visit my other sites: www.facebook.com/welcoming www.facebook.com/tamfs

These comments are a little longer than usual. Today was my last Sunday at Jan Hus Presbyterian Church and Neighborhood House as Stated Supply Pastor. My comments used texts from Nehemiah, 1 Corinthians, Luke - and The Man of La Mancha (with a little rap included)! It is hard to leave this wonderful group of faithful friends and travelers. Still, the path is the path - and when it is time, no sense messing with kairos or kronos!

These thoughts with Luke's gospel in mind. Readings by Elder Annie Rawlings. Thoughts on the whole life of Jesus that help getting through times in our lives. Always, with Newtown families and others who have been felled by violence in mind.
