Welcome to the Weird But True podcast. You may have noticed that last Friday we didn't do an episode. Me and Irma wanted a break to hang with the family all day, but we're back now. Today, we will be digging into some facts about creepy crawlies. If you can't already tell what we're talking about, Irma will tell you. Bugs! Let's get to it. Nature, all of its beauty and birds and pretty things. But there is one thing I despise in nature. Ah! Bugs!

exception for butterflies. By the way, your wings are going berserk. Yeah, I know. Are you going to explain why? Nah, too much work. Well then, I guess I have to... of the hard stuff butterflies will rapidly shake or shiver in order to raise their body temperatures to prepare for flight heats up the abdomen and helps them fly a short distance. While warming up can be difficult, butterflies can also get too hot. Ooh, getting too hot. Happened to my buddy Fred last year.

Dad of heat stroke. RIP, Fred. So that's why you're flapping around like crazy. Oop, I'm getting hot. Time for me to flap. Show off. There's also another reason you might see a butterfly flapping its wings on land. Butterflies flap their wings rapidly to provide suction in their proboscis. The muscles of their thorax... Both move the wings and make their guts expand and contract. Matilda, I heard you hate bugs. Hope you like my surprise. Ugh, what is this? I hope you like spiders.

We sure are. Getting to the point, I'm the one cracking. Oh man, I didn't want to say it, but I think I'm finally hearing something that I've only ever heard on a video.

and Trent University believe they have decoded this strange B language, which appears to be how the Queens communicate with their workers in order to coordinate their release. Some people say we either quack or toot. In my opinion, I've come to believe that quacking and tooting are two very different things. You know, I think your listeners would like to hear this quacking. That's not a bad idea. Here is what quacking... bees sound like?

I wish Irma was here. She would catch that little guy. Hey, Mr. Grasshopper. What did you say? You're kidding. First, it's talking flamingos. talking to a goldfish and the planets from the solar system. And now I'm talking to a grasshopper. Sorry, Michi. Still can't hear you. talk back. to stretch it up history report time if any of you kids actually ended up researching the old hawk dogs why not send in your findings at the weird but true website i'm sorry what do you say
