[SPEAKER_00]: Alright ladies, welcome back to another episode on the weight loss fulfilment 40 plus podcast with Josh. [SPEAKER_00]: Now today we are talking about the two versions of you. [SPEAKER_00]: There's a version of you that takes the action and there's a version of you that does not take the action things that are going to move us forward towards the go. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, unfortunately, these two are fighting all the time.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're like, ah, I should really lose weight, but I'm so busy so I won't. [SPEAKER_00]: Ah, I should really lose this belly fat. [SPEAKER_00]: I should really get healthier. [SPEAKER_00]: I should work out. [SPEAKER_00]: I should do insert whatever the fuck it is that you need to do. [SPEAKER_00]: There's a constant push and pull for limited resources at all times. [SPEAKER_00]: Resources, your time, your finances, your attention.
[SPEAKER_00]: All these things are resources that we all have. [SPEAKER_00]: Now people that are further along than you aren't. [SPEAKER_00]: like you. [SPEAKER_00]: They're not having better genetics. [SPEAKER_00]: They don't have easier lives. [SPEAKER_00]: They trust me.
[SPEAKER_00]: When I say like, there are plenty of people that have an easy life that don't lose away, and there are plenty of people that have an extraordinarily tough set of circumstances in their life, and they do lose the way. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, you even look at our fucking our Paralympians, right? [SPEAKER_00]: Some of those poor fuckers, no legs, got six packs. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, and then there's someone complaining about like, oh my fucking, my foot hurts, my knee hurts.
[SPEAKER_00]: I've got a sore back. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, you don't need all of those bits to lose weight. [SPEAKER_00]: You don't. [SPEAKER_00]: It's been proved proven, like I literally took a flight a couple of weeks ago to Melbourne. [SPEAKER_00]: It was like 20 wheelchair fucking athletes. [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, none of them were fat. [SPEAKER_00]: They were all in incredible shape. [SPEAKER_00]: They can't go for runs. [SPEAKER_00]: They can't do 10,000 steps a day.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yet, they took action. [SPEAKER_00]: They did what needed to be done, even though the circumstances were terrible. [SPEAKER_00]: Like how fucking, like it just was, [SPEAKER_00]: You know how you get those real sombering, grounding moments like it was one of those. [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, man, perspective, right? [SPEAKER_00]: Like these people have done it. [SPEAKER_00]: It was incredible. [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, good on fucking you. [SPEAKER_00]: So, it can be done.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, you are fighting against the version of you. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, you're fighting with limited resources, time, money, energy, attention, all these kind of things. [SPEAKER_00]: But so is everybody else. [SPEAKER_00]: Like you can't use it. [SPEAKER_00]: You can't use it as an excuse. [SPEAKER_00]: You can't use an injury as an excuse, because there's a fucking disabled person who's in better shape than you.
[SPEAKER_00]: You can't use finances as an excuse, because we have single moms on the program struggling fucking week to week, still putting money aside for coaching so they can lose the way, because they want better. [SPEAKER_00]: But if they're them, I'm better for their children, I'm better for their future. [SPEAKER_00]: But you're only going to get better if you take action now, like you're not going to [SPEAKER_00]: by delay, procrastinating.
[SPEAKER_00]: I will do it when XYZ circumstances are fulfilled. [SPEAKER_00]: It's only hurting you. [SPEAKER_00]: So if you're really stuck right now, there's a very easy test that you can do, very easy test. [SPEAKER_00]: The test is, okay, in six months' time, because remember this, behind every decision [SPEAKER_00]: Is your other talk action or you didn't? [SPEAKER_00]: And not taking action is a decision. [SPEAKER_00]: You are choosing not to do it.
[SPEAKER_00]: You can't decide, well, I'm just putting it off. [SPEAKER_00]: No, you're choosing to put it off. [SPEAKER_00]: So here's the test. [SPEAKER_00]: In six months time for now, where will I be? [SPEAKER_00]: You're at a fork in the road right now. [SPEAKER_00]: There's six months, the version of you that takes action, does what needs to be done.
[SPEAKER_00]: food, exercise, coaching, all of it, and there's a version of you that doesn't take action, keeps normal what you're fucking doing, keeps going on too busy, keeps putting things off, keeps procrastinating, waiting to a better time, who are you going to be in six months? [SPEAKER_00]: Now the six months is going to go regardless, whether you choose to or not, [SPEAKER_00]: six months is going to disappear. [SPEAKER_00]: It's going to go fast. [SPEAKER_00]: It's going to go quick.
[SPEAKER_00]: And this is what fucks people up. [SPEAKER_00]: They just keep delaying, delaying, delaying, delaying. [SPEAKER_00]: And they think, oh, I'll make a decision tomorrow. [SPEAKER_00]: I'll think about it. [SPEAKER_00]: I'll think about starting when work calms down. [SPEAKER_00]: Ah, we're coming into Easter. [SPEAKER_00]: Ah, it's school holidays, Christmas. [SPEAKER_00]: How long have you done it for? [SPEAKER_00]: Where has it gotten now? [SPEAKER_00]: Are you happy?
[SPEAKER_00]: If yes, well, fucking done. [SPEAKER_00]: If no, isn't this this going to keep repeating over and over and over again? [SPEAKER_00]: Well, the answer is probably yes. [SPEAKER_00]: It's probably going to keep going. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, does it affect me? [SPEAKER_00]: No. [SPEAKER_00]: Does it affect other people in your life? [SPEAKER_00]: Probably does it affect you? [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, probably the most. [SPEAKER_00]: but there is a ripple effect.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's a ripple effect of my decisions. [SPEAKER_00]: My decisions as let's just pick the business for now, my decisions affect the families and the children of our employees. [SPEAKER_00]: Like if I just close the business overnight, then I'm putting families without an income. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, we'll most of them get jobs and recover. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, of course, they're amazing. [SPEAKER_00]: They're good at what they do. [SPEAKER_00]: But it's going to affect them.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, what if they don't? [SPEAKER_00]: What if for whatever reason they don't? [SPEAKER_00]: Well, then I've made a decision that has a ripple effect that fucks other people. [SPEAKER_00]: You have ripple effects in your own mind. [SPEAKER_00]: Who gets affected by you not being the best version of you? [SPEAKER_00]: Is it your partner? [SPEAKER_00]: Is it your kids? [SPEAKER_00]: Is it your grandchildren? [SPEAKER_00]: Is it your friends? [SPEAKER_00]: There's a ripple effect.
[SPEAKER_00]: There are consequences. [SPEAKER_00]: So deciding not to act, hurts other people, deciding to act helps other people. [SPEAKER_00]: There's a ripple effect here. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's about doing what needs to be done for the greater. [SPEAKER_00]: Good. [SPEAKER_00]: Very simple. [SPEAKER_00]: It's not just about you. [SPEAKER_00]: If only our decisions only affected ourselves. [SPEAKER_00]: Life would be easy, he'd be simple, but it's not.
[SPEAKER_00]: having an overweight parent affects the children and how they grow up. [SPEAKER_00]: Having an overweight parent affects how they want to be growing up. [SPEAKER_00]: Do they want to be like you or do they want to be nothing like you? [SPEAKER_00]: Are you a good example or are you a bad example? [SPEAKER_00]: They might have some things downpar, but you might not have this downpar. [SPEAKER_00]: So, the decisions have ripple effects.
[SPEAKER_00]: Ripple effects are the people in your life. [SPEAKER_00]: The people closest to you. [SPEAKER_00]: people in social settings, even your groups, your work, people around you. [SPEAKER_00]: Are they getting the best version of you? [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe yes, maybe no. [SPEAKER_00]: On the you can answer that. [SPEAKER_00]: So don't think that delaying and procrastinating is just delaying and procrastinating. [SPEAKER_00]: It's choosing not to do it.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's choosing to allow the negative ripple effect to continue on and on and on. [SPEAKER_00]: So many people say they want to be the best version of themselves for their kids, but they're [SPEAKER_00]: So today's about taking action, one foot in front of the other, moving forward, getting it done. [SPEAKER_00]: Otherwise, where are you going to be in six months? [SPEAKER_00]: How late is Ponder it, and I'll see you on the next one.
