[SPEAKER_00]: Alright ladies, we're back for the next episode on the weight loss filming then 40 plus podcasts with Josh. [SPEAKER_00]: Now we're going back into the archives, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I haven't told this story for a while. [SPEAKER_00]: Quite a long while, actually. [SPEAKER_00]: So like, why do we work with women over 40? [SPEAKER_00]: Like, why is it? [SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, Josh, you're not a woman. [SPEAKER_00]: You're not over 40. [SPEAKER_00]: Actually, fucking hilarious.
[SPEAKER_00]: Some lady, what do you disagree with? [SPEAKER_00]: She's like, now I get these every now and again, not too often. [SPEAKER_00]: It actually hasn't happened in a long time. [SPEAKER_00]: She's like, what do you know about women over 40? [SPEAKER_00]: You're not a woman over 40. [SPEAKER_00]: You're not working around in our body. [SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, and all that wrote back was, I'm like, I'm like, what have that snow about animals?
[SPEAKER_00]: They're not animals, are they? [SPEAKER_00]: And then she never wrote back. [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, yeah, that's pretty much it. [SPEAKER_00]: So look, the thing is, imagine this, right? [SPEAKER_00]: Like I mentioned, if you had to be the thing to work on the thing. [SPEAKER_00]: So you had to be a horse stop-right on horses. [SPEAKER_00]: You had to have had cancer to treat cancer. [SPEAKER_00]: Like it makes no fucking sense.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like you'd have to be a female gymnast to help female gymnast. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, do you know, like, 80% of coaches are men, feel a mix of male and female? [SPEAKER_00]: Like, you look at a fucking world, women's world rugby. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, what do you know? [SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, er, so crazy. [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, I have a digress. [SPEAKER_00]: So, come and back. [SPEAKER_00]: So when it comes to, why do we do it? [SPEAKER_00]: Why do we work only with women over 40?
[SPEAKER_00]: What the reason is, is because my own mother, [SPEAKER_00]: My mom struggled with weight when I was growing up. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, I did, I was too young to piece it all together. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, I don't think any household hasn't gone like this. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, you got mum, she's a center of the family, she looks after the health, she looks after the kids. [SPEAKER_00]: More like, you know, the household, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: Mum sees the ship of the family when it comes to that dad, you know, along for the ride, unless he's very fucking fit himself, but even then, like, Mum kind of looks after kids in that kind of way, food and decisions and health, thought I'd got a good chance. [SPEAKER_00]: So, but what I realized, my mum was one of those Mum's who, [SPEAKER_00]: who really took a back seat when it came to her weight loss. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, she was always trying stuff.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, the more I think about it, the more I kind of searched for the archives of my memory. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, mum was always kind of trying things like diets and fasting and keto and shakes and did amyre and supplements and all these kind of things, right? [SPEAKER_00]: Like, as most women did fucking, you know, 20 years ago. [SPEAKER_00]: One of my mid-30s, so mum, gone back 20, 25 years ago, right? [SPEAKER_00]: Like a long time ago.
[SPEAKER_00]: but like as most human beings and I've realized this more now than when I was younger, like how we look affects how we feel. [SPEAKER_00]: So, moment times, you know, cranky fucking dragon lady growing up, you know, has most moms can be low patients, high irritation, those kind of things, you know, abs and flows. [SPEAKER_00]: Now I need to caveat this all like. [SPEAKER_00]: Since my mom lost all of her weight, she's a grandmother now.
[SPEAKER_00]: She works with us, so we retired her. [SPEAKER_00]: She works in the company, helping other women out, nurse of like 30, 40 years, nurse educator, like very well accomplished, very smart lady. [SPEAKER_00]: So, and very different now, right? [SPEAKER_00]: But like, growing up, like all those things, like how she felt, how she felt about herself, how she felt in a close, they had a ripple effect through the family, through the kids.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, times walking on egg shells, you know, going a little bit crazy, all those things. [SPEAKER_00]: But every fucking, everyone knows what I'm talking about. [SPEAKER_00]: You month's not what I'm talking about. [SPEAKER_00]: You can go a little bit crazy sometimes, no doubt. [SPEAKER_00]: Like any of us, [SPEAKER_00]: But it was exaggerated a lot of the time. [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, man, he doesn't make sense.
[SPEAKER_00]: Why is like the reactions like crazy or then, if I can, the offense, if they could do a muckin' out, we'll play nothing's like that. [SPEAKER_00]: But a lot of it was like, just how she felt within herself. [SPEAKER_00]: And I realized that I was getting older into my more like coming in at 18-19-20 if you can call that a fucking at-up, but you know, like getting later, I was like, when I started getting into health and fitness, I was like, oh, this actually makes sense.
[SPEAKER_00]: But at the time, my mum's like 60 right, right? [SPEAKER_00]: So when I was 20 years back, I would have been like 14-15. [SPEAKER_00]: So they weren't that many resources 20 years ago for women over 40. [SPEAKER_00]: There's not even that many resources now. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Most people and doctors and most programs, they're built for the masses. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, a male at 49 years old has a very different body to a woman at 49 years old.
[SPEAKER_00]: But they can't do the same thing. [SPEAKER_00]: This is why most women will say, like, oh, my partner can fucking lose weight just by cutting out these cards a little bit and I have to do a 10 times harder to get half the result. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, that's the truth, that's how it works. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, it is different, fundamentally different. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, if you're a woman in your 20s and 30s, then realistically, it's not that much fucking different to the blocs.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, the only thing you're really fucking overcoming is, like, having a period and then, like, you know, water fluctuations. [SPEAKER_00]: But even then, like, it's not crazy fucking different compared in comparison to perimenopause and menopause, postmenopause, like, very fucking different hormonal fluctuations. [SPEAKER_00]: So this is where I found my mum struggling because she didn't have the resources. [SPEAKER_00]: Now in a 20, she looked fucking amazing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like any fucking 20-year-old would run, you know, go fucking smoke a few CDs, fucking hit the dance floor, drink hard, play hard, work hard, all that kind of shit, skinnier's a rake, even through the first kind of few pregnancies. [SPEAKER_00]: No problems. [SPEAKER_00]: But it wasn't till like later on. [SPEAKER_00]: I think mum had, I'm one of four, had my sister in her 30s, I think.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think she's still bounce back pretty good, but it was like late 30s, 40s, that's where the real issue has really started coming on. [SPEAKER_00]: And I realized there wasn't this my mom, my mom has two sisters, and we have grandmother, grandma. [SPEAKER_00]: So like my aunties, who were the same age, plus and minus a few years, going to the same thing. [SPEAKER_00]: My mom's friends, people we see at church.
[SPEAKER_00]: People would see at soccer on the weekends, like all the women, [SPEAKER_00]: Pine a Stranglon with the weight all trying their own new things fucking you know fasting was new 20 years ago Gido fucking all this shit was new fast 800 Jenny Craig way watchers like all this shit was like, you know the craze low fat This and fucking low carb that So like a lot of women went through that
[SPEAKER_00]: And that's their clients, like our clients are just like my mum, my mum's fucking 60 odd, you know, 61, I think maybe 60. [SPEAKER_00]: Our clients are 40s, 50s and 60s. [SPEAKER_00]: So I saw a massive need for help for these women because they didn't have the support, they didn't have the same resources as fucking 20 and 30 year olds. [SPEAKER_00]: So that's why we do what we do. [SPEAKER_00]: And then it just evolved, helped her, helped friends, and then just expanded out.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, fuck, there's not a lot of help for these ladies unfortunately, outside of your local gym membership. [SPEAKER_00]: Things like that. [SPEAKER_00]: Go drain everybody vibe. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, fuck, if you're over fucking 45, doing F45.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's probably why they call it a 45 right the cutoff is 45 is out like you should not be doing it It's just not a great idea unless You have all your ducks in a row and like you're already in a go away, but if you're trying to lose weight not a good idea Anyway sidebar [SPEAKER_00]: So that is the story. [SPEAKER_00]: That's why we do what we do. [SPEAKER_00]: And now it's expanded out.
[SPEAKER_00]: We've helped over two and a half thousand women lose more than like 25, 30,000 kilograms over the years, teaching them not just how to lose it but to maintain it. [SPEAKER_00]: So if you can relate to that, then your the same is like thousands and thousands of our clients. [SPEAKER_00]: So many ladies have gone through and had that kind of story. [SPEAKER_00]: unfold in their own way.
[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody to different degrees, like some ladies coming to us, they need to lose 80 kilos, 90 kilos, some ladies want to lose 20, some ladies want to lose five. [SPEAKER_00]: Everybody's different. [SPEAKER_00]: So weight loss programs aren't for just, if you're obese, weight loss programs are for, if you're not happy with the weight on your body, doesn't matter if it's two kilos or 100 kilos, solve the problem.
[SPEAKER_00]: Learn the skills, learn how to keep it off, and be happy with it. [SPEAKER_00]: You're like sweet, maybe you've never been confident with your body. [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe you've never had that high personal self-esteem, but why goes through your whole life and never achieve it? [SPEAKER_00]: Like that's insane. [SPEAKER_00]: That's fucking crazy. [SPEAKER_00]: Like everybody can achieve these things. [SPEAKER_00]: You just need the right plan, and maybe that's what you need.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, ladies, that's why we do, that's how we do, and I'll see you on the next one.
