The most beautiful woman in the world. The biggest Hollywood star who seemingly had everything. Men wanted to bed her, and women wanted to be her. Marilyn Monroe has achieved legendary status since her death in 1962...but was her death as simple and straightforward as the police claimed?

For Part One of this two-part series, we go through a history of her tragic ups and downs, from her time in the Los Angeles foster care system, to her meteoric rise in Hollywood just a few years later.

Part Two comes out later this week, and will focus on the insane mystery surrounding her death. Why do contemporaries (and Marilyn's friends) call her death a murder? Was JFK involved? The mob? Was it really just a simple drug overdose?
