We’re talking Terra Firma Part Two, which gives us the first instance of a torture montage in Star Trek.
Breaking down the closing of Georgiou’s arc in the mirror universe, Ian and Mike consider how the writers of Star Trek Discovery have successfully created a cruel and devastating universe out of what used to be a hokey “what if” concept. Plenty of missed opportunities within, but Georgiou seems to have learned her lessons as Carl reveals his purpose as The Guardian Of Forever and sends Georgiou off. Little progression on The Burn in this episode, but Book has the answer to solve this week’s mystery with a wifi range extender. Sorry, subspace range extender. Meta references to Tig Notaro’s production schedule, references to Star Trek Voyager, and most importantly… PROTECT CAPTAIN SARU.
