Today on the We Are Made Podcast, Imani is joined by textile artist Aliyah Salmon. Originally born in Orlando, FL, she was inspired by her mother to attend SCAD for her art education, it was here that she discovered textile. And soon after graduation, Aliyah thought it was best to take her talents to Brooklyn. But don’t be mistaken. Her journey held its own leaps and hurdles, but with great perseverance and a desire to move through her limitations and disabilities. She went on to land some of the great collaborations of her career, all during the pandemic. Introducing this week’s origin story, Aliyah Salmon.
