On this episode of Wilmington Writes, we meet Ruthie Baker who recently won the Wilmington Memorial Library poetry contest in the Adult category. Ruthie shares how her love of the written word was encouraged in her by her parents from a very young age. She also shares her thoughts about the link between reading and becoming a better writer. Ruthie is a recent graduate of Emery college and plans to further her education by obtaining her Masters at the University of Massachusetts. Ruthie will be continuing her studies in film and photography along with writing whenever the mood strikes. She shares her winning poem, The Trifecta, with us on this episode.
