Speaker 1

Welcome to the WBZ book Club. I'm Jordan Rich. Having not been to Tokyo or any parts of Japan for that matter, an interesting book on the subject called Tokyo Tempos by Michael Pronco will provide those who want to travel there with quite the insight. The author has been

living in Japan for many years. He's an American literature professor, and Tokyo Tempos is a series of essays on the culture of the community, from cuisine delicacies to saki wine to the city that blooms in the spring with cherry blossoms.

Pronco obviously loves living in Tokyo, with a breathtaking view of Mount Fuji from his apartment, to his understanding of the passion of the Japanese, their dedication to work and responsibility, the history of the city, its culture and architecture, and religion. Tokyo is a huge city. Michael Pronco talks up the day to day experiences that make the people and this amazing city so vibrant. Well written essays from an American living in Tokyo. It's called Tokyo Tempos by Michael Pronco,

and that's the book club. WBZ Boston News radio
