Welcome to the WBEZ Book Club. I'm Jordan Rich. I always like to talk about the work of a local author, a fine novelist named Paul Stephens Stone. The latest book is The Snow That Never Fell, a fictional memoir of a man named Paul Peterson with challenges faced by many men these days. He's a divorcee in a bitter relationship with his ex and father to a ten year old. All of the action centers around Paul and his son, Mickey,
getting together in a cub scout father and son Pinewood derby competition. Paul meditates often on the difficult relationship he had with his own father, and The Snow That Never Fell is about our protagonist trying desperately to be a better father, to be a better man. There's humor and poignancy as this beaten down dad comes to terms with what really matters in a relationship with a child, protecting him, being there for him, something Paul never got from his own
dad. The Snow That Never Fell by Paul stephen Stone. And that's another book club selection here on WEZ, Boston's news radio
