Welcome to the WZ Book Club. I'm Jordan Rich. As anyone knows, having a successful marriage means you have to put the work in. Doctor John Goutman has put the work into a book called The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work. A practical guide from the country's foremost relationship expert. The author looks at everyday behaviors as well as overriding emotional feelings that can bring a marriage to

its nees or cause it to succeed greatly. The seven principles include sharing a love map, or a vision of what the ideal relationship and partner would be like. Number two in the list. Everyone wants to be with someone who loves them, so nurture fondness, and definitely appreciation. Turn toward each other, not away from each other when the going gets rough. Four, Let your partner influence you, knowing that your spouse doesn't always have to be right.

Solve solvable problems before they become insurmountable, overcome gridlock, create shared meaning, and wrapping up the list, don't forget to check in regularly. The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work a practical guide from the country's foremost relationship expert. The book Club. WBZ, Boston's news radio
