Speaker 1

This is the WBZ Book Club. I'm Jordan Rich. With so much talk during this political season about small businesses, I thought i'd recommend a very interesting book that's helped a lot of entrepreneurs get started. It's called The Lean Startup, How Today's Entrepreneurs use continuous innovation to create radically successful businesses. The author is Eric Reeese. What is a startup? It involves an individual or organization creating something brand new and

taking a risk because of the extreme uncertainties. The lean's startup approach takes its cue from what's known as lean manufacturing and a series of what some call counterintuitive practices to do effective research and learn what customers really want. And one of the takeaways in The Lean Startup is that to succeed, particularly in the early going, you have to be able to bend and stretch and often alter

your plan's midstream. Eric Reese is the author The Lean Startup, How Today's Entrepreneurs use continuous innovation to create radically successful businesses. And that's another edition of our book Club, WBZ, Boston's news radio
