Welcome to the WBZ Book Club. I'm Jordan Rich. I love a good detective story, and in a series of novels, Robert Knightley has created a hard boiled hero New York commiside cop Harry Corbyn. I just read the second novel in the series, called The Cold Room, with Detective Corbyn trying to find the killer of a young woman discovered dumped along the East River. Harry looks at this case as a chance to redeem himself in the eyes of

his colleagues. You see, in the first novel, Harry disclosed a ring of corruption and blew the whistle on several dirty cops, so he's essentially on the outside looking in when it comes to murder investigations. The plot involves illegal immigration and some human trafficking, with some very tough and evil dudes from Chechnia forcing women into menial jobs. Harry finds allies in the local church, with two colorful characters, a priest and a nun, doing what they can to

help him. The title The Cold Room refers to just that a walk in refrigerator freezer where a young victim has been tortured a cop who won't give up the Fight for Justice. The Cold Room by Robert Knightley. That's the book Club WBZ, Boston News Radio,
