Welcome to the WBZ Book Club. I'm Jordan Rich. I have a lot of author friends, and many of them write above movies. One of my favorites is Lawn Davis, a documentarian and lecturer on movie history, and his latest project is a lot of fun. It's called Stumbling into Film History.

Lawn has been called the champion of the Silent Cinema, and this is a great recap of some of the big stars from the Silent Era, many of whom sadly you never heard of. Lawn was just a young teenager back in the seventies and he had such a love for film that he was able to spend some time at the Old Actors Home and get to know some of the

legends. Chapters in this latest book include stories such as Eddie Leveck, the last of the Keystone Cops, Zoey Ray, the Universal Baby Baby Peggy, known as the last Silent Star. There's a great section on the late great Buster Keaton called Saluting the General, and Lawn, who's written about this in the past, includes some new material on Larry Fine, one of the legendary Three Stooges. If you love movies and want to know more about the silence.
