Mike Botach is from Maine and he's a game Warden investigator taking on a case that seems open and shut at the outset, but Bodhach discovers quite a bit of mystery with questions unanswered. A woman has been killed by a deer hunter on an island off the coast of Maine. The hunter says he didn't do it,
and Bodhach discovers evidence that backs him up. But what's going on in the community. Why are they covering up the identity of the real murderer and is the victim herself really a victim? When the ferryboat arrives on the island carrying Ariel Evans, who is indeed alive, making her and our hero Mike Botach targets hunted by the killer who needs to cover up his tracks.
