Transcript

Welcome to the WBZ Book Club. I'm Jordan Rich. I've had the great honor of meeting and interviewing hundreds, if not thousands, of authors. One of my favorite guests over the years, and I interviewed him many times for many books, was Norman Finkelstein, a resident of Framingham who passed away this week. Norman was a school librarian for the Brookline Public Schools and taught history

for many many years at Hebrew College. He won great acclaim over the years for over twenty books geared to the younger readers in his audience, books that people of any age could appreciate. Norman loved history, he loved biography. Was the winner of two National Jewish Book Awards and the Golden Kite Honor Book

Award for nonfiction. His works include The Shelter and the Fence. When nine hundred and eighty two Holocaust refugees found safe haven in America, Schools of Hope, How Julius Rosenwald helped change African American education, The Capture of Black Bart, Gentleman Bandit of the Old West, thirteen Days, ninety miles, The Cuban Missile Crisis, Emperor General A Bio of Douglas MacArthur, and the list goes on and on. Norman Finkelstein will be missed, but he's left us

a legacy of great writing. I'm Jordan, and that's the Book Club. WBZ, Boston's news radio
