With the WBEZ Book Club. I'm Jordan Rich with beach reading season fast approaching. I checked out a list from Awesome Ocean dot com of fifteen books you must read if you absolutely love the sea. So here's part one of their list. Some great suggestions. First, some classics. John Steinbeck's Log from the Sea of Cortez, a work of non fiction about an expedition the author took in the Gulf of California. There's the Ernest Hemingway classic The Old Man
and the Sea, winning Hemingway a Nobel Prize in Literature. Where science and history geeks, they recommend The Voyage of the Beagle, written by Yes Charles Darwin about his legendary trip that birthed the theory of evolution. And finally, Song for the Blue Ocean by Carl Sefina, revealing the beauty and mystery and majesty of the oceans through his personal voyage of experience. More books about the sea coming up. That's the book Club WBEZ, Boston's news radio
