Hello and welcome. This is the WBZ Book Club and I'm Jordan Rich. He's the best selling author Sebastian Younger. Most of us know him for his huge hit The Perfect Storm. His latest is a powerful memoir called In My Time of Dying, How I came face to face with death and the idea of an afterlife. Back in the summer of twenty twenty, Sebastian Younger found himself in pain, crippling pain in his midsection, and Younger was rushed to the local Cape Cod hospital, where his life began to

slip away. Massive internal bleeding caused his body to shut down. As the light in his hospital room dimmed, Younger says his dead father came to him in a vision, inviting his son to join him, saying there's nothing to be

scared of. I'll take care of you well. This near death experience certainly affected Sebastian Younger, a confirmed atheist, so he did what he's done in so many previous books, researching his condition and physical deterioration and depth, how the doctor saved him and the big question what happens to us when we die? Powerful and well written In My Time of Dying, the very latest from Sebastian Younger, The Book Club WBZ, Boston's news radio
