Welcome to the WBEZ Book Club. I'm Jordan Rich. Just published a new book called Immortal Longings by Chloe Gong, and it's fair to say that fans of The Hunger Games and series like it will enjoy this new take on fantasy. In her imaginative world, the twin cities of San air Hold fight to
the death games, with the winner promised incredible riches. This time around, there's a new competitor, Princess Kala, who's been in hiding and presumed dead for many years because of the evil King Casa, who ruthlessly killed the established leaders, even murdering Princess Kali's parents. Her plan is to seek retribution and freedom for her people, but to get close enough to the evil king to kill him, she must participate in the set of games, win the competition,
and earn the opportunity to get close enough to take her revenge. This is the first of a trilogy, and like The Hunger Games and similar series, there are colorful characters and some very exciting action sequences. Look for this one to likely make it to the movies.
