Welcome to the WBEZ Book Club. I'm Jordan Rich. Many of us took pause the other day when hearing about the death of Rabbi Harold S. Kushner, the New York native who moved to Boston's Metro West to lead a congregation
in Native for decades. He was an exemplary rabbi, husband, father, and mentor, known for so many best selling books, including Living a Life That Matters, The Lord Is My Shepherd, Practice, Random Acts of Kindness, and his most famous bestseller, When Bad Things Happen to Good People, drawn from his own struggle with grief upon losing a young son. I interviewed Rabbi Kushner many times, and every time felt I was in the presence of
someone special. Rabbi Harold Kushner has died at age eighty eight, but he left an incredible legacy of thoughtful introspection, morality, kindness, and grace. His books live on. I urge you to read them, and that is the book Club. WBEZ, Boston's news radio thre
