Welcome to the w BZ Book Club. I'm Jordan Rich. With the recent bridge collapse in Baltimore, I'm reminded of a best selling book by Judith Duprey called Bridges, A History of the World's Most Spectacular Spans. Truly an amazing history covering two thousand years of bridge development with spectacular photography that celebrates many technological achievements in bridge building, from the Brooklyn Bridge to the Golden Gate, from

the Zakon Bridge here in Boston to the Gateshead Millennium Bridge in England. The book is as much about the personalities behind the bridges, the ingenious builders and planners, and much attention is given throughout on the importance these bridges play in terms of transportation and even culturally. You'll now be able to take a chronological tour looking at the most significant bridges and spans in the world, again covering

thousands of years of architectural history. It's called Bridges, a History of the World's Most Spectacular Spans. The author Judith Duprey. And that's another edition of the book Club. WBZ, Boston's news radio
