This is the WBZ book Club. I'm Jordan Rich. Local author Stephen A. White produced a crisp, fast read of a thriller novel, all of the action taking place in Boston, playing with history that's very familiar. The book is called Ash and Bone, and its extaposes the disastrous fire in nineteen forty two that destroyed the Coconut Grove and killed hundreds, and another fire thirty years later in June of nineteen seventy two, the Von Dome hotel collapse that
took the lives of nine Boston firefighters. A young seventeen year old bushboy in nineteen forty two named Liam mulvaney gets involved with the wrong crowd that leads to the fire that destroyed the Coconut Grove, and Liam is racked with guilt, which might explain why he joins the fire department and ultimately becomes a fire scene investigator. The Von Dome is the first of a series of arson fires that killed dozens in Boston. The crazed arsonist has a personal vendetta with Liam,
whose task it is to stop the arsonist before a cataclysmic event. Ash and Bone, the new novel by Stephen A. White, the book Club. WZ Boston's news radio
