54 years ago my father spoke these words to me, “I’ve tried to be good to God and he has been really good to me. It’s in his hands now.” I’ve held these words close to me ever since. Listen as I tell you the meaning behind them.
When you’re facing difficulties in your life, talk with God. Talk with Jesus Christ. Just find a quiet place and pray to Jesus and you will find the strength to go on in life with His courage and His strength. Oh, your problems may still exist… all those fears we have. God will share tears with you, and with me, but he will also share our bravery.
If we listened to and followed what Jesus taught us, we wouldn’t have an angry and divided populous. The truth is, we live in a world governed by the love of power and money. If we as a nation committed ourselves to the teachings of Jesus, we would become whole again.
May the joy of Easter morning be wondrous for you and your family.
Do we have a problem we need to confront? Do we have a Jerusalem we need to ride into? And if we do ride into Jerusalem we must remember we do not ride alone. The last few weeks my oldest brother has been failing. He’s been in assisted-living for a few years now and has been active and even held church services for the retired people residing at The Lodges in Springvale, Maine. He passed away on March 11. This week I remember my brother Milton.
The purpose of this walk/podcast is to see God in our lives and how our lives are made stronger and our journey more loving by his presence. This is the first Sunday of Lent, where we dwell upon the life of Jesus Christ. Jesus is like looking though a window. He is the glass through which we look to see our God. Today is a special day... it's Valentine's Day. If you have a loved one in your life, you'd better not forget this day! This week I talk about my brother and his wife and the earthly love they shared and how their love will endure for ever and ever.
I believe it is so important to be honest, especially with those you love the most. This week I’m going to tell you about a storyteller who was not truthful and then I’m going to tell you about one who always is.
Our attitude towards people depends on our outlook in life doesn’t it? If we expect people to be miserable, in all probability they’ll be miserable. If we expect people to be pleasant and welcoming and happy, in all probability that’s exactly the way they will be. We have the ability to make this choice.
Being alone to reflect is important, but this walk would be worth nothing if I walked it alone. It means everything because you walked it with me. I like being alone, but not better than when you are able to walk with me here, wherever we are led, by the Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ.
As adults, we no longer reach up and hold our parent’s hand in times of difficulty. Children grow up and they must face life on their own. So what do we do when we are adults and face sorrow and adversity? When we desperately need help and support and a sense of security. What do we do? What must we do? We must reach up our hands with the faith and trust of a child to God.
It was my prayer at each and every marriage ceremony that the couple united by God would have a life lasting and a happy relationship. I do not receive the hundreds of Christmas cards I once received from the couples I married, but since moving to New Hampshire five years ago, I have not sent Christmas letters to the couples either. It is my hope that this walk and podcast will express that letter in the spoken, not written word, to them… and to you.
How are we supposed to live when funds are short? In this time when everything seems so expensive, we need to remember that Jesus speaks to us of the birds of the air and the flowers of the field and how God the Father watches over them. And He watches over us as well.

This week I remember Veterans Day as a child and what the day means to me now. Veterans Day. America. Freedom. I am so proud and grateful to be an American. I am proud I can worship as I choose. I am proud of those who have served our nation to keep us free. It's time to remember the veterans of our nation. Never, ever take our freedom for granted.

This week I think back to an arm wrestling match I had in my early years of ministry. Sometimes in this life, when we win a battle, we have really lost. As a Christ follower, we must constantly seek humility and devotion to our Lord. We learn as we live that what seems to be important in this world, is not important in the kingdom of God.
As the years pass and it becomes more difficult for adults to understand and know what is happening with the younger generation, we become concerned. This has been the way since my days as a new pastor. This week I discuss how important it is to not be too quick to judge the actions of our youth. May we never close our hearts to them, and instead, seek to understand.
