RTÉ is Ireland's state broadcaster and has a responsibility to the public to bring things to them free of charge. However, it also needs to make money. It has decided that showing Shamrock Rovers or St. Patrick's Athletic in their European qualifying ties is unprofitable, meaning if you want to watch it, you'll have to head over to the largely good LOITV and watch on a pay per view basis. Is this really the best thing for growing the game in Ireland - not showing its teams performing well in Europe?
