You're listening to KFI AM six forty wake Up Call with me Amy King on demand on the iHeartRadio app. Good morning, I'm Amy King. It's five o'clock. Straight up. Don't you hit that snooze, don't don't do it. It's time. I got my coffee ready to go. We got Tony here with his eyes half open. He's almost ready to go. Tony's filling in for Kono, who's taking a few weeks off, and we appreciate it.

And Tony said he is. He told me this morning he is the best fill in person ever for a person because he can tell the person who normally has the job, I don't want your job. I have no designs on taking your job. Yep. Never. I won't do all I can

to not Well, we're happy that you're here. Thank you, Thanks, I see you, and we'll be nice and loud to keep you awake, and I'll just you know, smack kipside the head starting not all right, Well, there's no nodding off because there's a lot going on today and we're glad that you're here to find out about it. Lots ahead on wake Up Call, here's what we're getting started with a so called atmospheric river is flowing toward California. Heavy rain is expected tomorrow. A winter storm watch will be

in effect from late tonight through tomorrow night. In the San Gabriel Mountains and along the five and fourteen Freeway corridors. Up to eighteen inches of snow could fall above the seven thousand foot level, ad dusting to about three inches of

snow is expected to fall between forty five hundred and six thousand feet. Two witnesses have testified in Grossman Burne Foundation co founder Rebecca Grossman's murder trial in Van Nuys that they saw a pair of Mercedes SUVs speeding before the white suv hit a young boy who was crossing with this family and a Westlike village crosswalk in twenty twenty two were killed. Residents and businesses in the northern California zip code

of nine five six three six have something to write home about again. It's the zip code for the Grizzly Flats post Office, which was destroyed along with more than a thousand buildings in a wildfire in twenty twenty one. The US Postal Service says the Grizzly Flats post office will reopen for full service today. Nice to see at six oh five it's handled on the news. Could Taylor Swift and the NFL be part of a plot to win re election for President

Biden? Handle's going to dive into that one. Let's get started with some of the stories coming out of the KFI twenty four hour newsroom. Charges have been filed in San Bernardino County against the five men arrested for the murder of six people in the high Desert near Adelanto. All five are charged with special circumstances murder and robbery. All but one are also facing firearms charges. The bodies of the murdered men were found last week off Highway three ninety five in

El Mirage. All had been shot. Investigators say four were also burned. The LAPD says it has busted up a major theft operation involving more than five million dollars worth of Nike shoes and merchandise. Investigators say during a search at a warehouse in Hawthorne, they found thousands of pairs of Nike shoes, clothing, accessories, and unique prototypes. On Monday, police say thirty seven year old roy Lee Harvey Junior was booked for receiving stolen merchandise. It's not known

how or where Harvey got all the stuff. The Department's Major Theft Task Force and Organized Retail Crimes Task Force were also part of the operation, along with the Commercial Crimes and Cargo Theft units and Nike's Global Security Director Steve Gregory, King of Fineos. Iran says it will respond decisively to any attack on the Islamic Republic by the US. Over the killings of three American soldiers in a drone attack, abc ZM Wins says that attack over the weekend at a military

base in Jordan injured dozens of troops. President Biden blames iron for arming the radical militants who carried out the deadly attack. He told reporters yesterday he's already decided how the US will respond, adding the White House wants to avoid a broader war in the Middle East. Iran has denied any involved in the drawne attack with eighteen eyes and fifteen notes, the eyes have it and the motion is agreed to. House Republicans have taken a party line vote toward impeaching Homeland

Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorcis. Republicans claim Mayorcis has deliberately ignored immigration law. Democratic Congressman Dan Goldman says that is not true. More deportations and removals have been executed than under any previous administration. Our Speaker Mike Johnson says Mayorcas has helped usher in the largest illegal immigration catastrophe in our nation's history. The entire House will now decide on the impeachment. A vote could come as early as next

week. Remember William Hung, he became famous or infamous for his American Idol audition in two thousand and four. She bang right, He's going to go work for the La County Sheriff's Department. Hung is now forty one years old. He's going to work as a crime analyst. He had the job several years ago, but then left to start a career as a professional poker player. Hung says poker led to a serious gambling addiction that cost him his marriage

and also affected other areas of his life. Well, nice to see he's back on track. Let's say good morning now at five oh six to ABC's Jordana Miller in Jerusalem. Jordana, there is rumbling of a deal to stop the fighting and to release hostages, but Prime Minister Nettagna, who says, uhh, that's not happening right. Well, Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Nataniel is essentially saying, you know, the terms that Hamas is demanding, we're not

on the same page. We're not going to agree. And he said last night and today again that Israel will not release thousands of Palestinian prisoners and that the Israeli army will not leave the Goz's strip entirely. Now, that still leaves NATANIEO with quite a bit of wiggle room to cut a deal. Or in November we saw Israel release at a three to one rate Palestinian prisoners.

And in this framework deal and phase one of it, which the mediators, including the United States, are kind of urging Israel and Hamas to agree to now even if they have disputes about the other parts of the deal, because there's three phases that we talked about yesterday, right, okay, right,

right, there's three phases. So in this first phase where Hamas would free the Israeli female civilians, be injured, and the elderly men and women in the elderly category, that's about forty So if Israel agreed to us again a three to one, even a four to one rate, it would only be one hundred. You know, it wou barely be two hundred Palestinian prisoners, so that's still viable. And also, you know, Israel last time redeployed and moved out of some areas, and they would be expected to do the

same. Those are some of the details being worked out. So Natanya's certainly has room to still get the ball rolling on this deal. The problems are in phase two. In phase three, what would Hamas demand to get the Israeli soldiers, including the female soldiers out, and what would they demand in phase three to deliver what are now over twenty five bodies that they're holding. Israel has said it will not agree to end the war. It will not agree to leave Gaza, you know, entirely, and that it sees,

you know, a security role for Israel in the interim. Before you know, there's a party that can take over the Gaza Strip and govern it. And of course, one of the huge disputes which we don't even talk about that lunch Hamas is still unwilling to relinquish power over the Gaza Strip. It still thinks that it can negotiate for some kind of role in post war Gaza, which Israel in the United States and many of the West. The Western leaders oppose well, and Natanya, who's pretty um I said, not pretty

much, but flat out said we are going to destroy Hamas. So Hamas can say we want to remain in control. But if Israel had it had its way, Hamas would just be dead, completely gone, right, I mean, Israel's Israel's aimans too kick Hamas out of the Gaza Strip. So just mantle its its military capabilities, kill or expel its leaders, and push

it out. You know, the goal is to give governing of the Gaza Strip to another body that will not support terror or, as Ntaignell says, educate Palestinians to hate or you know, or carry out violent attacks on Jews or Israelis. So you know, this is a long term plan, and you know Hamas Hamas is also you know, put down very hard lines. But we'll have to see how the end of this war can be negotiated.

That seems very far off this phase one. When Blincoln comes to visit next week, perhaps the Sectary of State will be able to give the final push for the sides to agree. At least to this first phase, okay, And a US facial has said that even though publicly the talks don't appear to be going well and from everything you're telling us, they don't appear to be going well, they are saying, oh, well, that might not be

the case. Well, that's I think, because when you talk about the whole deal, the three phases, there's no way the gaps are huge. If you talk about just phase one, then everyone agrees that the general parameters, all sides agree on them. When it would start where the Israeli are,

we would deployed to the guarantees. About how long the ceasefire will be, that is much closer at hand, and as all these could be reached as all these talks continue, we know that the fighting continues on the ground, so I wanted to sort of get an update from you on that. We know that we had talked about Israel was going to kind of scale back its offensive, still continuing, but doing more targeted attacks in the Gaza Strip.

Is that happening now? So in the northern part of the Gaza Strip there are far fewer tanks and troops, and there are some areas of combat, but mostly it is targeted operations in the southern part of the Gaza Strip. It is still an active war zoned in the south. Okay, heil is pushing, yeah, to the their work. They're operating in Communis, the southern city and to the west and south, pushing towards the Rafa area,

the border crossing with Egypt. Okay. And then we also heard that in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, Israe's military is saying that they've killed about fifteen Hamas militants in the last day and also targeted militant infrastructure in a school. Like you've been saying, they build their infrastructures in schools and hospitals to try to keep the attacks down on them or to hide them, right right. So a few days ago, you know, there was the

very disturbing news that Hamas had built tunnels underneath the cemetery. Feels like that's a new lobe for Hamas. But they often and not often, I would say, part of their military strategy, of course, is to build tunnels under schools, inside schools, you and shelters. There can be tunnel chafts near those areas, mosques, residential buildings. I mean, this is it's a near daily flow of images and a video that the Israeli Army puts out

of things they're finding, which have even shocked is all intelligence officials. You know, they thought they knew what was happening in the Godsen Strip. Now that they're inside, it's much worse than they even suspected. And what's so interesting here is it because we've talked about this, and one of the reasons I want to keep talking to you is because we need to know this stuff

because we're not seeing that here. I mean, it's it's just out of the news cycle, right, So right, it's important to keep talking to you, right right, right, Well, yes, there's other events going on in elections and everything else, getting gearing up for election day in the United States, But right this war is still very much alive, there's no doubt about that. And there are soldiers that are dying every day here. And by the way, the plight of the Gosins continue, They're suffering continues.

There's tens of thousands of Gossens now that have left even the southern part where they initially fled to. They they're on the run or walk again, moving further south as the fighting enters Conunis. So this is this is terrible for families who you know, they're just taking anything they can with them and moving to tents and overpacked you and shelters. You know, there's one point eight million gossens. Eighty percent of gosens are in southern Gaza, and that's

where a lot of the intense fighting is going on. So you know, we're seeing about two hundred trucks of eight get in a day now, which is a little some improvement over the last few weeks, but that's only that's a fifty percent less than what got into the strip before the war. So I mean to miss nowhere near enough. Well, there's no good news that maybe they're starting to get a free to work for something together. And we'll be watching and we'll be checking in with you. Jordana Miller, thank you

again for the information. We appreciate it. Thanks, Thanks, take care. Let's get back to some of the stories coming out of the KFI twenty four hour newsroom. Russia's Defense ministry says Russia and Ukraine have exchanged one hundred and ninety five prisoners of war each. We're just getting that information and we'll bring you more as it comes in this morning. A man's been sentenced to twelve years in federal prison for pulling off ten armed robberies in Orange County within

twenty within forty eight hours. In his plea agreement, George Arizona actually pleaded to just one robbery of a seven eleven and twenty twenty two when US Attorney LA spokesman Kira McAvoy says the guy shoved a ghost gun in a clerk's face. The Storm employee was in fear for his life and handed Arizona eighty dollars in cash and two pack of cigarettes. So I think about that. Twelve

years in prison for eighty dollars in cash and two packs of cigarettes. As part of the deal, the guy admitted the other robberies during sentencing Monday. He was also ordered to pay back more than thirty six hundre dollars to the seven eleven, eight restaurants and one hair salon in Orange County. Corbin Carson KFI News CBS is closing twenty five minute clinic locations in southern California. The pharmacy giant says it's to help support future growth and design the next evolution of

community health destinations. Whatever that means. The clinics will be closing by February twenty fifth, eleven minute clinics will stay open with virtual on demand options. When we come back, we're going to be talking TechEd because it is wired Wednesday. Are you depressed have anxiety? There's an app for that and KTLA's Rich Demiro is going to tell us all about it. You're listening to Wake Up Call on Demand from KFI Am six forty five twenty three. I'm Amy

King. Thanks for starting your day with us. Here's what we're following in the KFI twenty four our newsroom. FBI Director Christopher Races Chinese hackers are getting ready to unleash havoc on Americans. Ray and other top federal security officials will be testifying on Capitol Hill that the Chinese are planning to target critical infrastructure,

including water treatment, electricity, and natural gas pipelines. Manhattan Beach police are looking for the person or people who stole a bronze plaque detailing the racially charged history of Bruce's Beach. The theft is the latest in a string of recent crimes in which thieves have been taking bronze and other metal items and hopes of reselling them. State Senator Scott Wiener is introduced a bill that would allow people to drink alcohol on public streets and sidewalks, much like in Las Vegas.

Wiener says the designated entertainment zones would activate downtown streets where activity has struggle to rebound from the pandemic. At six oh five, it's Handle on the news. Democrats are pushing for a border deal, saying they're going to do it since Republicans won't. Right now, let's say good morning too. The host of Rich on Tech right here on KFI KTLA tech reporter Rich DeMuro, Good

morning, Rich, Good morning to you. Amy. Okay, so we know that you love this Apple Vision Pro and apparently are and are you the only one? No, the reviews are coming in and they're actually quite good for a thirty five hundred dollars headset. But that is the underlying theme is that it's really good, but it's also thirty five hundred dollars and who needs this and what's the use case scenario? So let me give you a quick

summary of some of the reviews. Yes, it's probably one of the best headsets out there, but it is heavy, especially if you're wearing it for a long time. Like how heavy rich is it? Like a eight ounces or sixteen ounces or it's the last I heard was grams about eight hundred grams, which I don't know how many ounces that is, but it's heavier than an iPad strapped to your face, So let's put it that way for the for the you know, for the record, I only had it on my

face for probably half an hour. I did not feel that it was overly heavy, but I did adjust it a few times. Maybe that's because my brain was telling me, hey, this is a little bit heavy on your face. But twenty eight ounces, okay, ooh that for eight If it's eight hundred grams, that's what that's twenty eight ounces. Oh wow, Well that seems really heavy. That's like it's not like a gallon of milk. It's heavy, but it's also incredible, so, you know, watching movies

is great on this. People say they can work in this thing. The controllers are really easy because it's literally just looking at stuff and pinching with your fingers, so it's very easy to like get the hang of. And you know, the downside is the battery pack. It doesn't last that long. It lasts about two hours. Although you know, are you going to really spend that much time in this every day? And again the price and who's

this for and what is the main use case scenario? And we all have a laptop, we all have a phone, So now you're going to spend even more time doing what inside this headset besides watching a movie for thirty five hundred That's what it comes down to. It goes on self Friday, by the way. Okay, then this was this is sort of interesting. There's an app that might help you if you think you might be depressed. Yeah, this is an app that I've spoken about before. I've interviewed the doctor

who created it. She's actually the same person behind Heel, which is the company that they did the house calls, or they still do, I guess, but she has moved on to this new app. It's called Together Byrona, and the app is sort of a one stop shop for all of your health concerns, so you can track your the medications that you take. It uses AI to sort of scan the bottles of these medications. Excuse me here, but it could also take a selfie and you can check your blood pressure,

your heart rate, your oxygen levels. But the newest feature is that you can speak into this app. And I tried this yesterday and it can

detect signs of anxiety and depression. And I don't know, I just think that the idea of like this one stop shop app is really interesting, especially if you're helping to take care of someone like a parent or a loved one, because you can kind of link into this app and make sure that they're taking their medications, make sure they have their appointments, and also monitor their

vitals. I'm fascinated by the speaking into it. I think the whole thing sounds really cool, but that you can speak into something and they can detect anxiety, yeah, I mean it's it's you know. Look, I mean I think humans can do the same thing. You can, you know, if you're really tuned into what people are thinking or saying or doing body language. But you know, these are algorithms that get really good over time,

and this is just the beginning. And I think the bigger thing I'm seeing here is there's more of a push towards home healthcare and being able to do a lot of the stuff that you would have to go to the doctor's office for these routine kind of vital things, these screenings. You're going to be able to do more of them from home and be able to connect with the doctor online on your phone, you know, via telehealth. And it's just going to you know, cut down on the cost of things and also expand

health into much more facets, many more facets of our lives. Well. And two, I think there is a lot of apprehension about going to a doctor. So maybe this sort of easy makes it easier for you and people are more likely to check on it rather than making the appointment and going to the doctor's office. Yeah. Or or the fact that maybe you you know, it's tough to get like with a lot of elderly folks. You know,

it's like you need someone else to bring you there. Right. So the fact that you can do some of this stuff from home, now it has to be easy that people can understand how to do it and also fool proof. But you know, the more I see of this stuff, the more I realize that that's where we're headed. Okay and together by Renee Is that available now? Yes? Available for iOS Android any day now? Oh, any day now? Okay, So together by renee. You watching for

it and then definitely want to hear about this free TVs. Yes, so this is a company that started last year. It's the guy who started do you know Pluto TV? Are you familiar with that? Vaguely? I know that it's out there. Yeah, it's a streaming service. So it's a free, ad supported streaming service. Well, he sold that to Paramount and Viacom and now he's starting a new startup, which is Telly. This is an AD supported smart TV, so they literally will send you a TV.

It's got a fifty five inch four K TV and then it's got to and then underneath that it has a second screen and that's sort of the trick. It's got ads on that second screen that are on all the time. There's also a camera for video calls. There's a voice assistant. It's a really nice TV. I got to demo it in Vegas. But the big thing is you are giving up your data in exchange for a free TV and it's kind of cool. We'll see if it works. They're expecting to go into

millions of homes this year. You can sign up on the website to get one. You can go to my website rich on Tech dot tv for the link. But if you're selected, you get a free TV. And the downside is, according to a couple people I interviewed, is that you know, if you stop using this, you will have to send it back and

that could cost you some money. Okay, And if people want to see the TV, they can check out your segment on KTLA is at this morning coming up right now, I'm heading over there, fabulous, okay, Rich Demurro, thank you so much. KTLA Tech reporter Rich Dimiro. You can hear him every weekend right here on KFI Saturdays from eleven to two, and you can also follow Rich on Instagram at rich on Tech his website rich on

tech dot tv. Thanks for all the info. Rich, All right, Sea, all right, when we come back, Amy's on It an Academy nominated movie that hasn't generated a ton of buzz, So the big question now is should it be getting more? We'll tell you. Baseball season is here. Don't miss live coverage from FanFest with insider David Vesse this Saturday from noon to three. Check out another winning season at Broadway in Hollywood dot Com.

Southland weather from KFI a mix of sun and clouds today, highs in the mid sixties at the coast, sixties to low seventies inland, fifties and sixties in the high desert. The storm moves in overnight, with heavy rain at times expected tomorrow. Gusty winds and thunderstorms are possible. Chance of rain Friday and Saturday, then rain likely again starts Sunday and into next week. You're

listening to Wake Up Call on demand from KFI Am six forty. My days are all messed up this week because I took Monday off, so I almost said it's Thursday, and yesterday I screwed something up because I thought it was Monday, but it is Wednesday, Humpday. I know Bill is going to be saying that all morning long. I mee mee king, thanks for getting your day started with us. Here's what we're following in the KFI twenty four

hour newsroom. A so called atmospheric reverse flowing toward California, heavy rains expected tomorrow. A winter storm watch will be up from late tonight through tomorrow night in the San Gabriel Mountains and along the five and fourteen freeway corridors. Up to eighteen inches of snow could fall above seven thousand feet. We're expecting a dusting to three inches of snow. Between forty five hundred and six thousand feet

in the valleys, expect about two to three inches of rain. House Republicans have voted to advance articles of impeachment for Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorcis. The full House could vote on the articles as soon as next week. Mayorcis is accused of willfully and systematically refusing to comply with federal immigration laws. Former President Trump's going to be on Illinois presidential primary ballot, after all.

The state Board of Elections voted to dismiss an effort to remove him from the ballot over his alleged involvement in the Capitol riot. The Supreme Court will take up Colorado's efforts next month to pull the former president from its ballot. At six oh five, it's handle on the news. A man's been arrested for

stealing a whole lot of Nikes, five million dollars worth. At five point fifty, we're going to be talking with ABC's Ines de la Quaterra about how and when the US might respond to the deadly attack that killed three US service members in Jordan. Amy's on it, AMI's on it, Aami's on Itami's on it. What am I on? I'm on streaming. There's so much

content out there that how would you possibly know what to watch? And you can go and you can kind of just go start flipping around, but then you don't know if you're going to get it's something good, and I like to get something good, so I take recommendations from friends, and I take for recommendations from family. Like Tony just told me about a movie that I haven't seen yet, and I probably will, but I might wait till it streams. But he's saying, god Zilla Minus one is like top Dogs,

top notch movie. I absolutely loved it, absolutely love it, sam every bit of it. It's all in Japanese. It's subtitled Okay, I might have to get on that one, but right still a Godzilla movie. But yeah, okay, but right now, hopefully I can recommend some good ones to you as well, so you can see the good ones and maybe skip the bad ones. Or if you like bad movies, maybe you'll see the bad movies. But here's one that is up on Peacock. It's called The

Holdovers. Starring Paul Giamatti, who was nominated for an Academy Award for his role. It's also nominated for Best Picture, and I will just tell you that this movie deserves that nomination. So in fact, I went and watched it a second time because I was it's like, did I like it that much? And the beauty about streaming is you can go watch it again if you really like it. So it's a story about a group of people who get stuck at a rather prestigious academy. It's a boarding school over the two

week Christmas holiday. The year is nineteen seventy and of course the students left behind at school and the teacher are at odds from the get go, so the tension and the conflict is set from the start, and it's sort of like a misfits Christmas, Like everybody else is going and they're going on these cool holiday vacations with their families and all this stuff, and there's just a

few students who aren't able to go home. So they're stuck there in some remote area in the snow in the middle of winter, and nothing's open, everything's closed, so they're just kind of stuck with themselves. So Paul Hunum is played by Paul Giamatti. He is cranky, he is super intelligent, and he is notoriously hard on his students and basically disliked by everyone, and he plays this character brilliantly. Then there is eighteen year old Angus, who

is privileged. He's smart, but he's always getting in trouble. He's one of those kids who's like always about to be expelled. And he comes across as a tough guy, but is he a tough guy. It's gonna have to be something that you watch to find out. There's also it features the head cook who is stuck to feeding these people over the holidays, played by Divine Joy Randolph. She just lost her son in Vietnam and she just stays

behind because she doesn't want to deal with the whole Christmas holiday. So it's not action packed. It's a really good story and as you may have come to know that I love this kind of thing. It just gives the story

move room to breathe, so they don't try to rush through everything. And when they introduce new elements, they explain it that things don't just appear for no reason, that everything kind of has a reason and it gives them time to dig into the characters, what their flaws are, what makes them tick,

what their pain is. The writing is wonderful. There's not a lot of surprises, but there are interesting and compelling twists and turns, and there are life lessons and there are insights, and there is some redemption, which I always enjoyed that. I hate movies that just they're like bad, bad, bad, bad, and then the movie ends. I like it when the characters grow and learn, and I think that they do in this one. So it's surprisingly funny like and a couple of times I kind of chuckled

out loud. It's sad. Parts of it are uncomfortable, but it's charming and it keeps you entertained and it keeps you engaged, and it's definitely worth the watch. And we'll be interesting to see if Paul Giamatti picks up a win on this one. I think he won a Golden Globe for it. I'm not an I can't remember, but it's called The Holdovers. It's on

Peacock. I highly highly recommend it. Back to some of the stories coming out of the KFI twenty four hour Newsroom, parents in Porter Ranch say the La School District may be moving middle schoolers to Chatsworth High School because of overcrowding. Parents with students at Porter Ranch Community Schools say they specifically bought homes that

have their kids attend the number two school in the district. Christy Rose says the school is that capacity because developers keep developing homes, but the city hasn't added more schools. Unfortunately, families are moving in and they can't even enroll their kids into the school that's right across the street. Parents called out district leaders at a town hall meeting Monday night, criticizing their lack of planning and

demanding proof of where their tax dollars are being spent. La City Councilman John Lee has vowed to raise five hundred thousand dollars to try to keep the six through eighth graders on campus. If it is for the extension at least just three years. Not it doesn't even have to be a permanent solution. I'm willing to push in that half a million dollars. The district has offered other

solutions, including pausing permits and expanding the K through eight school itself. The district says nothing has been finalized and it will can continue to discuss options with parents. Chris Adler KFI News. Federal agents in La say twelve people have been arrested in connection with a major drug trafficking ring allegedly connected to Mexican cartels.

Thea's FBI's Don Always says the investigation started in twenty twenty, but it could not have been successful without the collaboration between the US, Canada, and Mexico who worked together to interdict and take down a fairly significant drug trafficking organization that was bringing massive amounts of drugs throughout our continent, harming our citizens in all three countries. The FED say hundreds of pounds of cocaine, meth and

fentanyl were smuggled from Mexico and headed to Canada. Ten people were arrested yesterday too were already in custody. One of the candidates for the US Senate seat formerly held by Diane Feinstein says an administrative error by the California Secretary of State's

office is killing her campaign and calls election integrity into question. The ballot lists Christina Pascucci as no ballot designation instead of local television journalists, so this is hugely harmful and not only to my campaign, but when people across a nation are questioning the integrity of our elections, it's very important that mistakes like these are not made. Pascucci says ballot designation can influence voter perception and trust,

and says these kinds of errors can actually affect election outcomes. Pascucci says her polling numbers have been cut in half due to the error. The lead prosecutor in the election interference case against former President Trump in Georgia has reached a temporary

agreement with his wife in a divorce case. Nathan Wade entered into the agreement yesterday to avoid a hearing set for today where he was expected to testify about an alleged romantic relationship with Fulton County DA Fanie Willis, one of Trump's co defendants accused the pair of an improper relationship earlier this month. Willis said any alleged affair is irrelevant to the election interference case. Okay, so if you like a good cup of Starbucks and you're on a college campus, you might

not be able to find one for a while. If students get their way students at UCLA and you see Riverside say they want Starbucks kicked off of campus because of its union busting campaign against Baristas. About fifteen hundred signatures are going to be turned in. Half of them were delivered yesterday to UCLA, to the Board of Directors for Associated Students, and then the uc Riverside petition is going to be delivered today to Chancellor Kim Wilcox and other top decision makers at

the university. So they say this is one of the Riverside students. Aaron Whitfield says, when we graduate, we want to enter a workforce where workers have a real voice on the job with their employees. And apparently, as you may have known, that Starbucks has closed some locations. They're in trouble for it because they're saying, oh, you only closed them because they were trying to unionize. And actually some of the Starbucks are being ordered to reopen,

which I think is a crazy overreach of government. But that's a whole other thing. So it'll be interesting to see if they get their way. But they want the contracts not to be renewed and they want Starbucks off campus until they stop trying to bust unions. The bill says licensed professional should be able to decide without police intervention. Genetic genealogy led to the defendant, but also to his twin brother.

Orange County Dia Todd Spitzer says Kevin Conther made incriminating statements in twenty nineteen about the two rapes from the late nineties during a secretly recorded conversation with his twin brother, who was shocked by the arrest. She was only nine years old. For goodness sakes, he still raped her and left her naked with only her school supplies as she ran home to tell her mom about the attack.

Conthor was also sentenced Friday for the jagger and for molesting his former girlfriend's daughter in Orange County. Corbin Carson kaf I News. The Israeli military is flooding tunnels under Gaza with large amounts of water. The effort is aimed to keep the Palestinian militant group Hamas from using the estimated three hundred and fifty miles of

tunnels that they've built. We were talking to ABC's Geordana Miller earlier today and she is saying that the Israelis are finding more and more of these tunnels all over the Gaza Strip. The plan to flood the tunnels has drawn some criticism over potential dangers to the nearly one hundred and thirty hostages still being held in Gaza, and over damage to drinking water and sewage systems. Governor Newsom has announced steps in California to take to restore salmon populations in the face of a

changing climate. The governor says the priorities are to remove barriers, modernize infrastructure for migration, and protect water flows and key rivers. Okay found a new study about napping and if you are an early morning person, as I am now an early morning person, you may rely on

naps. I know that when I had regular hours, I didn't so much, but with wonky hours, I've come to rely on them. And I always thought that taking an app was a really good thing for you, but apparently it might not be. About a third of adults, according to researchers, take a nap, and while there are lots of good things, like you might feel refreshed. I always know I feel better when I get up.

New research says that for some people, napping may not be good for you, and study from China shows that taking a midday nap could raise your blood pressure. Also, those who napped were twelve percent more likely to develop high blood pressure and twenty four percent more likely to have a stroke than those who don't take naps. Great now I can't even take a nap. Here's more health news for you. The American Cancer Society recently released its projections for

twenty twenty four and yearly stats, and there's good news. There's been a thirty three percent drop in cancer deaths in the US since nineteen ninety one, but colon cancer is now the leading cause of cancer deaths among people under fifty. Under fifty, so remember it used to be that you hit fifty and

you got a colonoscope to make sure that everything was okay. Now they've lowered that recommendation to forty five because they're finding that people are getting it younger or any younger, and the hitch on that the really nasty thing is that most people don't think about it earlier. So forty five is the new benchmark, and especially because these statistics are scary to say the least, and that a

colonoscopy can save your life. I know that it did for me. I survived it, and if I would have done it earlier, I probably wouldn't have had to fight it at all. So there's my recommendation for the day, to take your good care of yourself and get that colonoscopy. It's something that nobody wants to talk about. It's not fun, but get it done anyway. Okay, here's something that is fun. I love this. Remember this show, Comma Knock on our door. We've been waiting for you.

Of course you do Freeze Company. Now, if you watch the show at the very beginning, you remember the Ropers and there was Missus Roper and she had her bright red hair and her what were those things called, like the big funky dresses. I think they're called caftins. Well, Hermosa Beach wants to celebrate Missus Roper, so they're doing a Missus Roper romp. It's happening

on February twenty fourth. Mark your calendars. It's a Saturday, and basically it's a pub crawl, but they want everybody to come dressed as Missus Roper. They want you to support local restaurants in bars, and according to a post by Hermosa Beach, dressing like Missus Roper no matter what gender is a primary costume. But you can also dress up as somebody else if you want to be mister Roper or mister Furley, or you could be Jack, or

you could be Larry if you want. And they even have a recommendation that Amazon has an amazing selection of caftins, chunky jewelry and wigs. If you're not sure where to find your Missus Roper outfit, again, that's happening. I love this Missus Roper romp Hermosa Beach on Saturday, February twenty fourth. If nothing else, it'll be a good m a good drunk. Maybe you shouldn't say that, but it should be a good time and lots of photo ops. Right, you've been listening to Wake Up Call with me Amy King.
