You're listening to KFI AM six forty wake Up Call with me Amy King on demand on the iHeartRadio app. We got a lot ahead today on wake Up Call, so we hope you'll stick around for the whole show. Here's what's coming up on wake Up Call. The Senate has passed a ninety five billion dollar aid package for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. The vote followed an overnight session after months of haggling over a bill that also included border security.

Well, the border funding was taken out of this aid package. It now heads to the House. The package passed in the Senate on a seventy to twenty nine vote. Metro ridership is up eleven point six percent on buses and trains for twenty twenty three. Metro says they're seeing the highest numbers since the pandemic. The transit agency says its efforts to address safety, improve cleanliness and

speed up service is the reason for the increase in ridership. If you want to order in on Valentine's Day, you're probably going to have to get the food yourself. Rideshare drivers for Uber, Lift, DoorDash and others are going on strike on Valentine's Day to fight for better wages. Drivers are planning to protest outside the Uber Hub on Beverly Drive in LA tomorrow at six oh five. It's handled on the news. Bill's going to share his thoughts on the

Senate debate last night. Did you catch it? I did interesting stuff. Let's get started with some of the stories coming out of the KFI twenty four hour newsroom. At what point is enough enough? The Senate has passed that ninety five billion dollar eight package for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan, despite opposition from some Republicans. Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson says he does not believe Ukraine can defeat Russia. As sympathetic as I am for the Ukrainian people, I

don't see how setting another sixty billion dollars helps their plight. Ohio Senator JD. Van says Russia isn't losing. At what point do we say the wars of stalemate? It's going to end in the negotiated settlement any way. Let's stop wasting lives, let's stop wasting money, and let's get on with the piece. More than a dozen Republicans voted with almost all Democrats to pass that

package seventy to twenty nine that Bill's future is uncertain in the House. LA police are looking into the possibility that a shooting in Cutahey that killed a teenager is related to three other shootings. The teen was killed early yesterday on Live Oak Street. Another person was hurt. Police say there were also shootings in Bell, Florence, Firestone, and Huntington Park the same night. An analysis of arrest and booking data from the Glendale, Pasadena and South Pasadena police departments

show large disparities in arrests by race. The report issued yesterday by the County Commission on Human Relations as Black and Latino arrest rates are much higher than for Whites and Asians. It also determined black and Latino people are more likely to

be given jail time. Most arrests cluster around major commercial centers like Old Town Pasadena and the Americana at Brand. A malfunctioning generator has been determined to be the cause of noxious odors that prompted an evacuation and hazardous materials investigation at a target on the south side of Riverside. The odors were reported early yesterday at the target in the town Gate shopping Center. One person became sick from the

oders and was taken to the hospital. The store reopened by about eleven thirty am. Kindergarten could soon be mandatory in California. Assemblyman al Miritsucci has introduced a bill that will require all kids to attend kindergarten beginning in twenty twenty six. While kids in California currently must enroll in school by age six, local

school districts decide if the students go into kindergarten or the first grade. LA School District Superintendent Alberto Carvallo, who supports the bill, says research has shown that kindergarten is essential to a student's development. The bill will need to pass

the Assembly Education Committee before the entire Assembly can vote on it. Blake Trolley k if I News San Diego County's kicked off it's thirteenth annual Love Your Heart Month of Action of Valentine's Day. Doctor Eric McDonald with the county's Health and

Human Services says free blood pressure screenings are available across the region. People think of high blood pressure as your grandmother's disease, needed to take medication for it, an issue for people of all ages, McDonald says, people need to get checked out now, not wait until they have symptoms or problems. Heart disease was listed as the leading cause of death in California in twenty twenty two. The Super Bowl winning Kansas City Chiefs have been invited to the White House

again. White House Press Secretary Carine Jean Pierre was asked yesterday if Taylor Swift could tag along since she's dating tight end Travis Kelcey. Jean Pierre said that would be up to the Chiefs, but she also said she wasn't clear on whether the players are allowed to bring a guest. Hey, Nick Pouliochanni, don't you go anywhere? Oh I'm sticking around that, okay, So you have to tell you first. Thanks to Heather Brooker who filled in for me

yesterday. I took a day off because it's a big tradition here in southern California for me to go and spend Super Bowl with one of my best friends, Amy, And she went, and she went and moved. So now I have to travel to where she is and we do a little football pool and Nick is involved with that too. A couple of people around the office, and then your husband, Brian is no sports fanatic, no, he is a sports ball fan across the board. Sports ball fan, yes,

exactly. We laugh at it because that's what he calls it. So and of course we are little football pool. He was the big winner. He was. Yeah, he won first quarter, the first quarter, reverse and the final pool. Yeah. I don't know. Yeah, I mean, I've granted, I'm a happy man, don't get me wrong, but I was like, of course, the guy that didn't watch one second of the game, didn't even catch half time or any of the commercials. Yeah, he's the big winner. So I don't know. I might have to veto

his winnings, but anyway, it's congratulations. I was there the whole time and then some so I would go gladly step in for on his behalf. Well, congratulations to Brian. Let's say good morning now to ABC's Geordana Miller in Jerusalem. Good morning, Jordana. So two hostages are out. Tell

us what the reunions are like. Tearful, emotional. I mean, I think the country was really uplifted for a few hours after hearing the news of this really dangerous but successful at least on the Israeli side, successful rescue mission. Israeli commandos you know, went into this two story residential building in the heart of Rafa with you know, this is a densely populated area right now,

filled with refugees. They snuck in to the area just before two am, blew out the doors of this building, went on very specific intelligence into one apartment, caught the Hamas captors by surprise, killed three of them, put repelling vess on the two Israeli hostages one sixty one seventy, and repelled them off the back of this building, off the second floor of balcony down

to an alley where other troops whisked them off to a helicopter. All of that about twenty minutes until the helicopter took off and brought them safely a little bit more than that later to Achieva Medical Hospital. The family is obviously overjoyed. It is bittersweet because they're still one hundred and thirty hostages in the hands of Hamas. Okay, so, Jordana, you said that they had very specific intelligence, they knew that they were there. I'm curious as whether they

know the location of several others and they're just waiting to go in. I'm sure they're not going to tell us this, but do you have any kind of indications that they may be getting ready to do anymore rescue. Well, the Defense minster said, you know, we may see more operations like this in the future, which indicates that Israel does have intelligence on where some of

the other hostages are. Many of the hostages are deep underground, but we have learned from the hostages that came out that some of them are being kept above ground with families in apartment buildings. You know, one with one young Israeli girls kept was held captive by a Godwin who also was a teacher for

the un So there are some areas where the hostages are above ground. And you know, we don't have specific information from Israel, nor would they tell us, but we do know that in this case, Israel knew about the location of these two hostages for some time. They had trained intensively and they were waiting for the right moment and the right intelligence to go in and get them out. Okay, And this happened in Rafa, which is near the

border with Egypt. That Israel has said that they're going to launch an offensive, and there's been a lot of controversy about that too, because Rafa is also where the Palestinians have gathered after being told to get out of the north right. Rafa is a city that used to be home to about three hundred thousand Gossens. It's right on the border with Egypt and near the crossing where

all the aid comes in during for this war. And now there's about one point two million Godsens there because about a million have come in to the Godza strips from They fled from the north from the center, you know, as the fighting intensified, they kept fleeing south. This area is filled with civilians and that's why Israel's Prime minister has now said that Israel's going to provide a plan, a detailed plan, and provide safe passage for Gosens to move out

of the area before Israel launches a massive military operation in Rafa. That is what he is vowed to do. We talked to the army about it as reporters all the time, and they say we're putting the plan together. When

we can tell you about it, we will. It appears that the most likely scenario is that Gosens will be moved to will be moved north to the northwest along the coast where there's already what we would call the safest area Mawassie, and that safe zone would be extended to the south and to the north, and Israel would try to move gossens there before going into Rafa. And Israel has a military strategic interest in going into Rafa. There are still Hamas

battalions there that are intact, that haven't even been really fighting yet. Leaders are there hiding in the tunnels, The hostages are there, and there's cross border tunnels into Egypt that Israel wants to get control of as well. So it is, it is, it is. You know, it would be considered a failure if Israel never reached the Rafa area what Israel is called the Philadelphia Quarter. I mean, from the beginning we've been here covering the war

and the military strategy, Rafa has always been on the map. Now the world is learning about it because all the refugees are there. But this was always going to be one of the aims of the military of the incursion of Gaza and getting rid of Hamas. We simply can't do it without getting to Rafa. Okay, well, thank you for the update on the hostages that are out. Let's hope they get some more and that the Palestinians who have to relocate again will get that safe passage that they need. All right,

thank you so much. All right, appreciate your time. Dured Anna Miller Tux. Let's get back to some of the stories coming out of the KFI twenty four our newsroom. California lawmakers, along with the state Attorney General, have introduced a bill to reduce maternal and infant deaths within communities of color. Black women, as was stated by the ag we're three to four times more

likely than their white counterparts to die from a pregnancy related cause. Assembly Member Lourie Wilson says the bill would require hospitals and healthcare facilities to get anti bias training and could face penalties if they don't. We know that it is entirely possible to reverse the mortality rates and morbidity rates that black women and women of

color face as they are giving life. Black women in California make up five percent of those pregnant, but account for twenty one percent of the total pregnancy related deaths. Election officials in California are urging voters to send in their ballot the March fifth primary election sooner rather than later. They say mailing it in now is the best way to make sure it ends up in the first batch

of results released. Once polls clothes, voters can sign up for the Where's My Ballot tracker to get text, email, or phone updates when their vote is processed. More than one hundred and forty animals have been cleared for adoption by the LA County Department of Animal Care and Control. The animals were stored

in an illegal animal facility in Compton, which was investigated for neglect. Dogs, cats, turtles, chickens, snakes, rabbits, are a tortoise, a rooster, a pig, horse, a hamster, a hawk, and several lizards were all seased. Last month, another thirteen animals were found dead. Hey Bobby, Hi, She's so cool, isn't she? The Barbie is headed to the Hollywood Bowl. The live to film event will feature music

from the highest grossing movie of twenty twenty three, The Barbie Land. Thin Finetia or Orchestra Sinfonieta Orchestra won't perform the film's score on July twenty seventh, as the movie plays on a giant led screen. Tickets will go on sale, but not until may you have to wait a little bit for that one. When we come back, we're going to find out if personal investing services are a good idea, and also how we can keep from racking up credit

card debt as rent and prices remain stupidly high. It's how to Money with Joel Larscard. You're listening to wake Up Call on demand from KFI AM six forty. Here's what we're following in the KFI twenty four hour newsroom. Senate Democrats and Republicans have joined together to pass the ninety five billion dollar foreign aid package for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. The bill passed after senators took

border security out of the mix. It's headed to the House now, where Republicans have been pressuring House Speaker Mike Johnson to block aid to Ukraine until there's a deal on border security. The La City Council is going to consider whether calling for a report on whether it's feasible to require food labels to include the life cycle of food packaging and other products. To Council member se they want the information on labels to help consumers understand the long term impacts of packaging.

UCLA running backs coach. Deshaun Foster is expected to be introduced as UCLA's new head football coach today, a day after the school completed a super quick search to replace Chip Kelly. Kelly's going to Ohio State. Earlier this month, Foster accepted a coaching position with the Raiders for the NFL, but then backed out of it when he had when the head coaching position opened up at as alma mater UCLA. At six oh five, it's handle on the news.

Don't hold your breath for an interest rate hike, actually an interest crate interest rate reduction. The Fed is saying the rates probably won't come down till this summer. Right now, let's say good morning to the host of How to Money on KFI. It's Joel Larsgard. Good morning, Joel, morning Amy. Okay, so here's here's the question of the day. Personalized in liting services. What are they? And d you need them? Oh? That's

a good question. So this is kind of we're seeing an uptick in these offerings through specifically through people's retirement plans at work, and so you might see it referred to in multiple different ways a personalized investing plan or a managed account.

And this is something essentially where instead of you picking one, two, three funds on your own that you want to invest in, well, there's a pro behind the scenes who's kind of making sure that you're invested potentially in a way that they think is better for you, but there's a price tag attached to it, right. And the interesting thing is there was some data, there was some digging into what are these managed funds usually hold and are

they are they better? Because it does sound nice, So maybe I'd pay a fee, a small fee in order to get like superior results or to be in superior investments that maybe me as a layperson, I'm not smart enough to choose, right, it would be good for me if it was a good deal, because yeah, I'm not good at this exactly. And so I think a lot of people think that because most Americans know little to nothing about investing, and so they're nervous and they think that the pro is going

to know better than they are. But when you dig in and look at kind of what actually the funds that are being chosen in these managed accounts, it's most of the time, the overwhelming amount of the time, the fund selection is very very very similar to what you can get in a basic target date fund that's really dang cheap for in most plans to get. So it's a single fund that invests in an array of stocks and bonds, and it gets more conservative as you get closer to retirement age. So a target date

fund for people is the knee jerk right selection. And it's so interesting that these managed accounts, which are going to charge you a lot, a lot more than you just picking your own target date fund off the rack, They're going to instead say, oh, well, we're going to give you this bespoke plan that actually looks a lot like the cheap thing you could get on your own pretty easily. Ah So, just like with everything else, you

got to do your homework before you start investing your money. Yeah. So I think that these personalized investing plans, these managed accounts are most of the time, they're a solution in search of a problem. Because the solution target

date funds, are already there for most people. And I'm not saying that target date funds makes sense for one hundred percent of investors out there, but man, if you the problem, most people don't think that a half a percent fee or a one percent fee sounds that sounds pretty reasonable, right. It doesn't sound like that's going to destroy your retirement savings or anything like that.

But when you run the numbers, because of the way compounding returns work, a one percent fee over something like thirty or forty years is actually going to significantly hamper your returns to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars less that you're going to have in retirement because that money's not working for you. So it might sound insignificant. Oh, I can afford to pay the half

a percent or one percent fee. But if you are able to instead pick a target date retirement fund, which is kind of what they would have put you in any it's going to save you a lot of money more of your money working for you, Okay, Jil, And where can we do some digging and find a target date retirement fund that might work for us? Sure? So if you're in the back end of your four oh one K, this is the same thing with your IRA. If you say, oh,

man, I need I feel like I need some professional investing help. And it's not that that's never warranted. I think it is sometimes. And we can talk about kind of where the best place is to go do that. But most of the time you can easily find those funds in if you're with Fidelity, Vanguard, Schwab, where at whatever brokers you're with, you're looking to turn that cash that you've got stuck in there and put it into investments,

you'll find their target date funds. Be careful. Places like Fidelity have two different kinds of target date funds for some reason. One that's really expensive and one that's really cheap. So look at those expense ratios. Typically the expense race show is going to be point one point one five in that range. That's really cheap, and that's that's what you want to that's what you want to drill down on, because the lower the expense ratio on those target

day funds, the more your money's working for you. Okay, all right, And you just mentioned the solution in search of a problem, which reminded me of something. And I'm not sure if you're familiar with these things and whether they're a good deal, But have you seen the mortgage title protection plans? Oh? Yeah, yeah, I've seen those for sure. Do you

know anything about them? That's again, that's not really a massive problem for people, and most of the time that they're not actually offering you the protection that they're saying, and so it's kind of an effort to it's kind of a scare tactic to say, Oh it's scary. Yeah, like, hey, somebody can take the title to your house. You wouldn't even know about it. The county clerks can't refuse it, and all of a sudden you don't have the title to your home and somebody else owns your home. Yeah.

And I'm not going to say that it never happens and that it isn't a problem. And I think that the solution that's being offered is pretty inexpensive, and it's a monthly, you know, monthly fee to have this person try to protect you. I would say, instead, freeze your credit and just make sure you're paying attention if you get any weird mail in in the mailbox. Okay, Joel ours guard. We're out of time again. I hate that. Hey, just have to come back next week. Oh that's

a great idea. Or you could also listen to Joel. He's on Sundays from noon to two. It's how to Money with Joel, and that's how to Money Joel, or at how to Money Joel on Instagram. Thanks again for the great advice and we will look forward to talking to you next week and hearing you Sunday sounds good. Thanks Amy, Take care. Let's get back to some of the stories coming out of the KFI twenty four hour newsroom. Officials in Orange County say three large homes on an eroded cliff side and

Data Point do not appear to be in danger of collapsing. Supervisor Katrina Fulling says a building inspector found no structural damage yesterday and the homes aren't expected to be red tagged. The landslide happened early last week on a bluff top along Scenic Drive. One home is right on the edge of the slide, but the city says there's no imminent threat to the house and no further action is being taken at this time. News brought to you by one eight hundred got

junk. The top four candidates hoping to fill the US Senate seat of the late Dianne Feinstein have done their second debate. Democrats Adam Schiff, Katie Porter, and Barbara Lee all took shots at Republican Steve Garvey, who they say supports former President Trump. Schiff began to argue that Trump is a threat to democracy, but Garvey fired back nostry the greatest single threat to democracy is deconstruction

of the Constitution, packing new court, doing away with a filibuster. The candidate's also argued about things like the economy, crime, homelessness, and the war between Israel and Hamas. The event yesterday was hosted and moderated by Inside California Politics, and House Republicans are expected to vote again on whether to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Majorcis. They appear to have the one extra vote they

need tonight to succeed. ABC's Andyfield says the Department of Homeland Security has sent a memo to House Republicans saying even members of their own party have said there's no reason to remove Majorcis from office. That letter quotes nearly ten House and Senate Republicans who said it is not an MP table offense, one calling this quote the dumbest exercise and a waste of time. Democrats say even if the House votes to impeach Majorcis, the effort will not succeed in the Senate.

When we come back, we're going to be talking to Tom Rivers from MAYBC about how some of our allies are looking to beef up their defenses to make Europe stronger and whether it has anything to do with former Presidents Trump's tough talk about NATO countries that don't pay their bills. South End Weather from KFI. Sunny and cool within the low to upper sixties, fifties in the high desert, morning clouds, afternoon sun for Tomorrow and Thursday. Partly cloudy on Friday

with highs in the sixties to about seventy. Got a twenty to thirty percent chance of rain Saturday and Sunday, and then a better chance we'll see some rain for Washington's birthday Monday. You're listening to a wake up call on demand from KFI Am six forty. Here's what we're following in the KFI twenty four hour newsroom. The Senate has passed a ninety five billion dollars aid package for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. The vote followed an overnight session after months

of heagling over a bill that also included border security. Well border funding was taken out of this aid package. It now heads to the House. The package passed in the Senate on a seventy to twenty nine vote. Israel and Hamas are reportedly making progress toward a deal for a ceasefire and the freeing of hostages. The talks are moving forward even after Israel intensified its offensive in the southern Gaza town of Rafa and rescued two hostages along with along the Egyptian border.

Local health officials say at least seventy four Palestinians were killed in that raid. The longest Super Bowl game will also go down as the most watched TV program ever. Kansas City's twenty five to twenty two overtime victory over San Francisco Boo Hiss averaged one one hundred and twenty three point four million viewers across TV and streaming platforms. That shattered last year's mark of one hundred and fifteen point

one million for Kansas City's last play victory over Philadelphia. It's a seven percent increase. At six oh five, it's handle on the news. Lift and door dash drivers are going on strike on Valentine's Day. At five fifty, we're going to be talking about romance, speaking of Valentine's Day and how to protect your heart and your wallet against scammers. Right now, let's say good

morning to ABC's Tom Rivers in London. Tom. As the war rages on in Ukraine, Poland, France and Germany say they're beefing up their defenses. Why are they doing this now? Yeah, they're kind of using this language and it pops up, and it has popped up over the years, over the decades. It kind of comes after the comments made by former President Trump basically saying you have to hit that target of two percent of GDP to be in the Alliance club, and if you're not, you know, one for

all and all for one may not really apply. So there's kind of thinking that, well, finally some of the European countries might have to actually annie up and start paying their fair share or their proportion of fair share for defense. And we're seeing that possibility. A meeting yesterday outside of Paris had the leaders of Poland, France and Germany talking and discussing that very point. Talking is very important at this point. Practicality maybe another measure, as their political

fortunes often do not look very good. Schultz, for instance, has lower approval ratings than President Biden. Macron not looking very well as well. So yeah, politics and military mixing, and it's all part of a campaign year as well. Okay, so Tom, is it is are there discussions to beef up their defense spending? Is that directly tied to NATO and the talks the Trump is basically you just said he said if you don't pay up,

you're not part of it? Or or is this a separate thing that the three countries are looking to do. It's been Yes, it's separate thing. It has been ongoing for a long long time. When I used to cover NATO defense in Foreign ministers meetings in the late eighties, Secret Very General Lord Carrington at the time, if we showed up a day early, a few of us would get about ten minutes of quotes to work up our stories, and then he said, let's go to the bar and we talk informally.

And at that time he basically said, over the horizon, someday there may be a rift who knows, between the US and the European powers. And he says, you keep watching this one, you're gonna hear more and more talk over the years or decades that the EU may have to get an army, may have to beef up their own if you will resources in tandem with NATO. And that didn't sound very ringing, very true back then, but guess what, twenty twenty four, it sounds more plausible. So yes,

this has been talked about for a long long time. It is not really knee jerk. But again, that's what the headlines are grabbing, certainly here in Europe reaction to Trump. But it's something that's been on going for a long period of time of beefing up their own defense, not relying on the US taxpayer each and every time. So yes, it's it's something that is

something grist for the middle and keep watching that, okay. And then is there also a heightened awareness of this or maybe need for this because of what's going on with Russia and Ukraine that there's feeling like if Russia does take Ukraine, they might come after one of their countries next. Yeah, I think really behind the scenes, no one is putting a whole lot of weight in that. That really that that grabs headlines, you know, and and you

hear it occasionally. But again he rolled back the clock. When I was covering NATO, there were sixteen countries. A few years later you had the fall of Berlin, Wall, and you had an agreement between James Baker and we had Gorbachev in power saying, look, you can have Germany, you can be reunited. It can be a NATO. That's fine, but don't don't expand don't head you know in direction of the East. Well that number

is now at thirty one, soon to be thirty two. So those countries have doubled in the alliance since then, and they're getting ever ever closer to Russia. And it really does beg the question why is that happening? Who benefits? And it certainly goes against the principles that were laid down in ninety one when Gorbachev struck a deal with the US of A. Okay, well, we'll be watching to see what they do. As always, thank you

for the update, Tom Rivers. Take care. All right, let's get back to some of the stories coming out of the KFI twenty four hour newsroom. A tree has fallen in LA's Beverly Crest neighborhood. It's knocked down several power lines. This morning, Coldwater Canyon Avenue and Eden Driver closed. Several

days of rain are headed to southern California once again. The National Weather Services Joe Serrard says La County has the potential of getting two to five inches, while the south and southwest slopes could get up to eight inches of rain. To the existing wet ground conditions, we will have the possibility of a risk of flooding and mudslides, So folks that are in those susceptible areas really need

to pay attention to the forecast over the next several days. Sirard says that includes anywhere near recent burn areas, steep terrain, or regions susceptible to rock slides. The storm system is forecast to hit southern California sometime this weekend into next week. The American Red Cross is asking for blood or platelet donations ahead of winter storms this week, possibly disrupting blood drives. The call comes amid a significant drop in the blood supply in recent weeks. The Red Cross says

anyone who donates this month will get a twenty dollars Amazon gift card. Police in Texas say the woman shot and killed by two off duty police officers at Joel Ostein's church had an assault style rifle with the word Palestine on it, but no motive was announced. A man and the shooter's son were hurt on Sunday. The boy is in critical condition. One person has been killed five

others hurt in a shooting at a subway station in the Bronx. Police say a fight broke out among two groups of teenagers yesterday on a northbound train and it carried out onto the platform and then someone started shooting. Most of those hurt were people standing on the platform waiting for a train. Police are still looking for the shooter. King Charles has returned to London from his country retreat

for what is expected to be more cancer treatment. Royal officials announced the King's diagnosis last week and said he would suspend public engagements but would still manage state business like signing papers. They didn't say what kind of cancer he has, but that it is not related to his recent treatment for a benign prostate condition. Hey, did you ever see what Buffalo Wild Wings said? They said if the Super Bowl game went into overtime, they'd give everybody free Buffalo Wild

wings. Well, Buffalo Wild Wings is making good on that promise, giving away free wings. The date for the free wings is February twenty six, so you can redeem six free boneless or traditional wings at Buffalo Wild Wings on that day from two to five pm. The restaurant says the offer is only available for dine in and in person takeout only. So if you want some free wings and I love me some Buffalo Wild Wings, mark and my calendar

for February twenty six. You're listening to wake Up Call on demand from KFI Am six forty. Boy. This hour's gone by fast. It always does, especially on busy news days. If you missed any of wake Up Call, you can always go back and listen to it anytime on the iHeartRadio app. Here's what we're following in the KFI twenty four hour newsroom. Senate Democrats and Republicans have joined together to pass a ninety five billion dollar four in aid

package for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. The bill passed after senators took border security out of the mix. It's headed to the House now. Republicans have been pressuring House Speaker Mike Johnson to block aid to Ukraine until there's a deal on border security. The La City Council will consider calling for a report on whether it's feasible to require food labels to include the life cycle of food

packaging and other products. The two of the council members say they want the information on the labels so consumers can better understand the long term impacts of packaging. A lost and naked hiker has been rescued from a remote area in Chatsworth, LA. Fire found the guy around nine thirty last night sitting in some brush with no clothes on after people reported hearing a man calling for help. He was hoisted to safety and taken to the hospital. We're just minutes away

from handle. On the news this morning, a second debate has been held for the candidates looking to fill the seat held for decades by Dianne Feinstein? Did any of them move the needle? Bill's going to weigh in on that all the wrong place. Let's say good morning now to the president of the North American Securities Administrators Association, Claire McHenry. Good morning, Claire, thank you for having me. Sure you might be asking yourself as you hear me.

Introduce Claire, what does North American securities have to do with looking for love? Well, it has to do with it because a lot of people are getting scammed in the romance department. That's right, a romance scam is when someone is looking to build a relationship with you and they use that relationship to build trust, and once it's created, they'll start to ask for money or an investment. It can start out small, but it can grow pretty
