Hey, it's Jennifer Jones Lee. You're listening to KFI, a M six forty wake up call on demand on the iHeartRadio app. You are halfway to the weekend already. Here's Jennifer Jones Lee with your Wednesday morning wake up call. I feel like I need to apologize to everybody this morning because nothing weird
happened with my dogs this morning. Like yesterday, I get to come on the air and tell you remember that time that Sophia got her head stuck in the baby gate and was running around the house with a four foot baby gate attached to her head, I don't get to tell you that this morning, which is wonderful in my world, far less entertaining in your world. It was totally normal. All the dogs got up, everybody brushed their teeth with their little you know, I don't know, chew thingy that I give them,
and everybody went outside and got busy as they do their thing. It was weird. So now now in my world, if you have three dogs, you know this that silence is not golden. Silence is suspicious. So I feel like when I get home today it's just going to be waiting for the other shooter drop see what these nut jobs do. But let's keep our fingers crossed, right. I'm not handled my glass is half full. It's not half empty. But now I wonder why my glass is half full?
You know what I mean. Welcome to your wake up call. It is the last day of May, Wednesday, May thirty. First, lots of stuff to talk about this morning. State Appeals Court says a follower of a cult leader, Charles Manson, who took part in two murders in nineteen sixty nine, should be granted parole. And this is going against the governor,
so it's kind of an interesting story. An eighty year old man has been arrested for the fatal shooting of a much younger man in the parking lot of an Amazon Fresh store in Westchester. And I love National Donut Day because Krispy Kreme an Duncan are handing out free sweet treats on this National Donut Day. Five oh five. We're going to talk with ABC's Karen Travers about with the
Office of Management and Budget director. She is the director. Salanda Young said yesterday about President Biden and Speaker McCarthy finding a bipartisan agreement when it comes to the debt ceiling. So we'll get into her comments in just a few minutes, but let's start with some of these stories coming out of the KFI twenty four hour newsroom. I like this story because I find it fascinating. A state appeals court says a follower of Colt leader Charles Manson, who took part
in the murders in nineteen sixty nine, should be granted parole. It's Ulie van Houghton, who is serving a life sentence for her part in the murders of Leo and Rosemary la Bianca. Now, the ruling yesterday reverses the decision by the governor, who had rejected parole for Van Houghton in twenty twenty. Her lawyer says she expects Newsom to request that Attorney General Bonta ask the state Supreme Court to review the lower court's decision, which could take years. Now
here's the thing. I don't think that if you are not any governor, I don't care who you are. When you have a case that's this high profile as the Manson murders, you cannot be the guy who says, yeah, yeah, let her out. Let anybody associated with those murders out because they've served their time. They're in their seventies now, they're not a threat to society on word and upward. No way. That is not going to say political suicide, but politically speaking, that is not an okay move.
You have to stand on the side of unwavering justice in a high profile case like that if you're the governor. So it's almost I almost wonder if he really believes this or not, or if this has to do And I'm not blaming Gavin, it could be anybody. But in the sense of whoever is governor in this case, they have to stand by keeping her in prison. An eighty year old man has been arrested for the fatal shooting of a much
younger man in the parking lot of an Amazon Fresh store in Westchester. Witness to say a man and woman had been arguing in the parking lot yesterday when the older man went down from the balcony of a neighboring apartment building and pulled a gun as a warning. Now, this woman tells NBC four he was about to put it away when things escalating. The younger gentleman was making derogatory statements and then the younger gentleman took off his shirt as if posturing a fight,
and that is when the older man fired. Rules have changed for the way ghost gun kits companies from Nevada can do business in California. Holliver eighty will now have to run background checks and put serial numbers on gun kits it sells in California. The terms are part of a five million dollars settlement announced yesterday. Elliott sued the company in twenty twenty one, alleging the company was selling gun kits in violation of Federal Gun Control Act requirements and in violation of
California gun laws. Officials say, by selling kits without background checks, people legally banned from owning guns, we're getting their hands on kits to make them blake trolley k if I news, I won, no you one, maybe nobody won. If that is the tit for tat that you want to get into when it comes to the debt ceiling, Karen Chavers get mourning to you, and I guess that was sort of the observation out of the Office of
Management and Budget. Yeah, yeah, it was notable yesterday that there are no victories being declared yet at the White House Showanda Young, omb director said that the president is sac McCarthy found a reasonable bipartisan agreement, something both sides can feel good about, but also said, you know, right now, this is all about getting it across the finish line. She said, you don't negotiate to see a bill posted. You negotiate to make sure it gets
to the president's desk for his signature. I asked her if she felt the President came out ahead in the negotiations, and she was very careful not to spike any footballs and declare victory. She said, the American people came out ahead. She said, it's not about Democrats or Republicans. If you get into a who won or who didn't, she said, you lost already.
So, you know, I think very notable that there is certainly a sense from her from the President over the weekend that it's still a fragile vote counts and anything that could potentially disrupt things. You know, of the president coming out and saying I won could end up making people vote No, they don't want to do that. They're being very very careful here as they wait to see where the numbers go. And also just noting that this is the best
they could do in divided front. We heard this. You and I talked about this, the whole theme of not everybody's going to get everything they want. That's certainly the message we're hearing from Kevin McCarthy and the White House right now. Okay, so yesterday we had the House Committee, the vote passed there. That was, you know, one big hurdle. Now we're kind of in this home stretch. But I'm just a little curious on the timing
because tomorrow is June first. When Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said we've got to have something passed by tomorrow or we default, we're I mean, we're less than twenty four hours away, So how does that work? She on Friday night she had extended that and said that they actually can go until June fifth, that is when the new x state is when the government would not be
able to pay its debts. So once she had said that Friday night, going into the holiday weekend, there was a little bit of breathing room for lawmakers on this deal, at least on getting it done and then drafted into legislation for a vote. So the House tonight is scheduled to take this up around eight thirty pm. If it passes, the Senate would immediately begin processing.
It couldn't move toward a vote very quickly tomorrow. They will likely be some you know, Senate Shenanigans or any one member to hold it up and just say, like I object and let's talk about this now, as opposed to just unanimous vote. Chuck Schumer and the majority leader told lawmakers on that side, you might want to be prepared to be here this weekend. All
right, Thank you so much, Karen. It's always all is Shenanigans where you get to, you know, look at everything, and I don't know, I just feel like anytime that you have this sort of finish line deadline, you're gonna have some grandstanding and you're gonna have somebody, you know, trying to take up all the time that they can when it's their turn to speak. It'll be very fun. Should be a good one tonight. All right, sounds good. Thank you, see you later, Karen, have
a great day you too. ABC is Karen Traverse. I there's so many days I envy her job because I'm you know, I like politics, I'm a nerd. But there are days like today where I'm like Oh gosh, I would not want to be there because all it's gonna be is give me my five minutes to grandstand and tell my constituents why this is a crummy deal, and I say no to it. Oh bleh, it's going to pass. Move on, You're all lovely. Congratulations to all those lawmakers who symbolically
stood up and fought the good fight. It's going to pass anyway, Let's just keep coming. Homeland security investigators say sextortion continues to be a big problem in southern California, and anyone with access to technology as a potential victim. Anyone with a cell phone, anyone with social media, anyone that's engaged with
gaming platform. Agent Eddie Wongs with HSI in LA and says sextortions more prevalent with kids who connect with someone they thinks their own age and might be convinced to send naked photos, but the person on the other ends actually an adult looking to extort money from that kid. We've seen individuals in Europe as well as in Africa, as well as throughout the United States, and Wong says the pressure on the kids is immense. Some try to steal money from their
parents, others sadly commit suicide. Long says parents need to be more vigilant with how their kids use their smartphones and the internet. Steve Gregory KFI News and you can find more information about sex stortion on our website, KFI AM six forty dot com. Slash h Si, a homeless man who allegedly attacked a woman in Long Beach and then stabbed a man who tried to help her, is due in court in Long Beach. He's facing three felony assault charges.
The attack happen Friday. Police had to use les, lethal weapons and pepper spray to arrest the guy. The state senator has passed a bill aimed at changing the way semi automatic handguns are sold in California. The bill would require pistols sold in California after twenty twenty seven to include microstamping technology, so that's when a unique micro identifier is stamped onto a cartridge when the trigger is
pulled. The bill's authored, Democratic Senator Katherine Blakespere, says the technology would help identify the origin of the gun that was used in a crime. The bill, passed last week, heads to the Assembly. The OC Sheriff's Department is arrested five miners for kicking and stomping three marines during a mob attack in San Clementi. The city's mayor says four others were arrested on other charges. Sergeant Mike woodruff says the teams who were caught on viral video face serious charges
regardless of their age. Saught with a deadly weapon, which is a felony. For those suspects that chicked these marines in the head and while they were on the ground, they will be liable for that charge. I don't know why. I feel like that's so refreshing that maybe that's the Orange County way of doing business compared to the way that La County business. I don't care who you are, what your ages. You do something vile like that, like kick and attack marines, you're going to pay for it, no matter
what your age. Anyway. Woodruffe says the attack was magnified because it happened over the Memorial Day weekend, which I'm inserting my opinion here made it even more vile when the country was honoring the sacrifices of military service. The video shows the Marines being stomped on the ground until a couple jumps in the middle and starts screaming for those teenagers to stop. Jurors were resumed deliberating in the
rape retrial of That seventy Show actor Danny Masterson. The jury deliberated for nearly seven days without reaching a verdict. Last week. Masterson is pleaded not guilty to raping three women at his home in La between two thousand and one and two thousand and three. A mistrial was declared, and when the jury could not agree on a verdict, most were leaning toward acquittal. A homeless man who allegedly stabbed two people and assaulted others in Long Beach has been shot by
cops. Officials say the guy has non life threatening injuries. This man says the guy was out of control, like angry and belligerent, you know, just you know, shouting, cussing. Police say the man assaulted several people yesterday near Second and Quincy, including a man who was holding a two year old child. The man was also stabbed several times, possibly with a screwdriver.
The child is okay. Public and private leaders have gathered No Sea to discuss sea level rise solutions as artificial reefs and higher sea walls become possibilities and oh Rich Demero Ko fives Rich Demero. He's also on KTLA but can't fights more important eleven to two Rich on tech On Saturdays. Here Rich, Krispy Kreme and Duncan are handing out free sweet treats for National Donut Day. Oh my god, I already had my donut this morning. Well, oh Brod
Donuts in I'm assuming to KTLA this morning. Who was the big winner this morning? Who gets hugs from the rest of the staff? Andre And they were sitting there and when you come in this early, you say, excuse me, are these from this morning or last night? Because they were already like half gone. Yes, you always have to ask that. Or if there's a box of pizza, you have to know when that came into the newsroom or whatever. I hear you. You don't want to get that food
poisoning. No, but they were brand new donuts. Were they from Krispy Kreme or Duncan? They were not. They were Wincholls. But that's like kind of a local favorite, So I'll give it a win. Yeah, I'm gonna say, I'm gonna go out there on a limb this morning. No, Krispy Kreme no, duncan Wincholls all the way. Okay, all right, I might have to have a donut debate on national Winchs does a
pretty good job. I mean the local places do the best, like the really you know, the super local, oh, like the Randies or the Princes or stuff like that. Agreed, absolutely, all right. You got to do something that I know that you were talking about last week, and literally you are probably one of a handful of people, I dare to say, in the world who has been able to look through Apple's VR headset. What was it like? Well, I'm sort of connecting the dots here,
Okay, so let's put it this way. They had this big show in Los Angeles last week called the Display Week, and they had every type of display you could ever imagine on display if I could use the word twice. But the one that I saw that really impressed me and they really wanted me to check out, was this tiny one point three inch four K microo LED display. You have to look through a magnifying glass to see it. When
you look through this thing, it is incredible. It was like the biggest big screen I've ever seen, the clearest, sharpest picture, and it comes out the rumor has it that this is what Apple is using to power their new VR headset, which launches next week. And if that is the case, Jennifer, I will tell you people are going to be floored with the quality of this thing. Really okay, And see, I feel like when you're floored by something and this is your career. I mean, this is
what you do. You eat, sleep, breathe. Technology. When you say it's good, I gotta believe it's good. Well, I mean look and you can see it, by the way rich on tech on my Instagram, look at my real it looks like a little peepole. You kind of you put your eye up to this thing and you can look around. And Jennifer, it was you know, I've played with the Meta Quest and I played with these different VR headsets. They're not clear, They're not very clear.
You can see it's an LCD screen. It doesn't look very good. This was like looking at the clearest screen I've ever seen. It will revolutionize the way that we watch movies in these headsets, the way that we can compute. If this is what we're talking about, and this company has been known to supply a lot of stuff for the big tech companies. It's a Chinese company b EO, and you know, it was incredible and they really wanted me to look at it, and they wouldn't talk about it. So
that was the other side of it. Yeah, anytime they dangle a carrot, but they're like, you can look at the carrot. You can, you know, take a taste of the tip, but we're not going to tell you exactly from where this carrot came. You have to know that it's something big is behind it. When they don't want to do an interview, you know, I mean literally at this show, Jennifer, I'm not kidding, no one wanted to talk because I have a feeling Apple was running through
a lot of it. And you know, Apple is very secretive. So you can't have these companies that make parts and supplies and things saying like, oh, yeah, this is what we're gonna use, because you know, Apple would get very angry. I feel like it's the complete opposite of when we have Jason Nathanson on and he's doing entertainment reviews and he's talking about movies and he'll say, oh, they didn't even excuse me, they didn't even screen this one. You go, oh, Okay, well that movie sucks
for on your world. If they don't tell you something that means it's really good. It's so interesting that you say that, because I have a whole kind of thing in my head, like the harder they pushed me to do a story on something, the more I'm not interested, because guess what that means. It's kind of a not so exciting when when a company doesn't want to talk to you, that's when they've got something good because they don't need
to. And then, by the way, Jennifer, you have the companies that for years won't talk to you and then all of a sudden they hit that downturn and now you're their best friend. So look, I could write a book about this stuff. Maybe I will one day. I think you should. All right, what is guide Geek? I haven't heard of this? Okay, this is super cool if you are traveling over the summer, or if you just just you gotta try this out. This is AI for
travel. You can install it on your phone through WhatsApp. So if you have WhatsApp on your phone, you scan a QR code or just go to guygeek dot com and it's an AI chatbot that has been programmed with all travel information, so it's like literally having the smartest travel local friend in your pocket. I've been testing this all week and it is The knowledge it has is incredible. And just try it out. I mean just see, like, you know, type in like your hometown and say what's the best place to
get a craft cocktail or something very specific. That's the beauty of these ais. You can get super specific. Don't just say best things to do in San Clemente. You know, it's like that's not going to be that exciting. I feel like in where it's how do I say it? It's almost like if you were able to yelp but then take it to the most you know, micro whatever you were looking for. That's sort of what AI feels like to me, exactly, like, I don't this restaurant looks great,
everyone loves it, but do they serve a vegan cupcake for dessert? And you know that's also chocolate and sprinkles? You know, like you can get super specific, and you know what do kids like? The kids many You're like all these things that you can get. It's just really incredible and it's just by the way we're just at the beginning, So it's going to get better, all right. And what is being discontinued on Amazon celebrity voices?
So if you use an Alexa celebrity voice Samuel Jackson, what are the other ones they have? Most McCarthy, little O'Neal. Yeah, even if you pay. Now, here's the trick about this. They're not going to do an automatic refund. But you can contact Amazon and they will give you a refund. It's only like a dollar to five bucks. But hey, why pay for something you can't use anymore? Absolutely, dollar, five bucks whatever. That's another dollar or five bucks that I can use to buy more shoes
on Amazon. Yeah, we'll put that torch shoes, I guess all right, Rich eleven to two on Saturday. Any idea, what's coming up on Rich on Tech on K five this weekend? Yeah, you know, I'm gonna have a magician on that was on America's Got Talent last night and he does tech magic, and so I know it's radio. So it's gonna be
a little tricky because he can't see what he does. But he's a fascinating guy and I think he's done really well in his career with this idea of tech magic and it's it's kind of cool and he does magic that involves technology. Okay, I'm in on that one. That's something I've not seen this guy before. And the fact that you're going to be able to do that on radio with a guy who does tech magic. I'm in eleven to two on Saturday. Let's hope he magically pulled in listeners. He pulled me in.
Where to go a rich to have a great weekend? All right, Daddy's Kafis and KTLA's rich Demiro. You can follow him on social media at rich on Tech. There's a state appeals court who says a follower of cult leader Charles Vnson, who took part in two murders in nineteen sixty nine, should stay on parole or get be granted parole. It's Leslie van Houghton.
Now Governor Newsom had rejected to parole for her in twenty twenty. Her lawyer now says he expects Newsom will request that Attorney General Banta asked the state Supreme Court to look at the lower court's decision and review it. That could take years. Police in Burbanks say a man fatally shot by officers in the parking lot of a home depot store was holding a knife. Cops say the man had taken a shooting stance Saturday. He held an object in his hand as
if it were a handgun, pointed it at the officers. They say the man had earlier called police and said he was going to shoot people. And police killings of Latinos in the US have been on the rise. Axio says such killings increased by almost forty five percent over a ten year span. Researchers looked at CDC data from twenty eleven to twenty twenty. New Mexico has the largest Latino population in the US and had the highest rate of police killings.
Latinos accounted for almost twenty percent of all police custody deaths. Jane Wells, good morning to you, and happy Wednesday, the very last day of May. I feel like this month screamed by it, did you know what? I'm a math person, and so I just have to go back to that last thing. If New Mexico has the largest percentage of Latino residents, then naturally New Mexico would have the highest percentage of Latinos in custody or in police
incidents. So I mean, that's not like a shocker. No, And that's anytime that we talk about certain they'll talk about, oh, we have had a you know, a massive number of shootings in large cities like a Chicago or in LA or whatever. Of course ours are going to be higher in number because we have higher populations. No matter what it is, you know, always always take a second look at the numbers. But hi, Jennifer, Yes, I'm glad May has May is too gray and I'm hoping
we don't get June gloom. But that's one I was just getting my lashes done yesterday, and that's exactly what my lash lady goes, Noel. She goes, I'm not sure if I'm tired or if I'm cold today or what, but she goes, this weather is just making me weird, and I got I feel her same thing. So all rights of LA video you've ever said, what's that? I said, that's the most LA thing you've ever said. Oh I'm weird getting your lashes done yesterday, and your lash lady,
Noel, is so done with the weather. All right, I'm sorry. You want to talk about business? And then I followed that up with a spray tan. Oh yeah, I'm I'm living in la life right now, all right. So Jane in video man, I saw this yesterday. Incredible and it's all betting on AI. Yes, I don't know how many people out there is even't heard of in video. But it's a thirty year old company started by Jensen Waang and it made its original money in graphics for
games for video games. But he pivoted the company quite a while ago to AI before anyone else did. And they had such an incredible earnings quarter because they're actually making money off of their AI chips. It's like the picks and shovels theory during the Gold Rush. Those are the people who made the money. He makes the chips. They forecast that for the second quarter they're gonna have sales worth eleven billion dollars. That's for just one quarter. That is
way above what Wall Street expected. The stock has just gone nuts since then, and the company briefly touched a market value yesterday total stock market value of one trillion dollars. Now, very few companies have ever been able to do that. Right now, it's Microsoft, Alphabet for Google and Amazon and Nvidio dropped a little bit before a trillion by the end of the market, but
it's going it's going nuts. I don't know how much of it. You know, everybody says chat GPT and generative AI are the thing that's going to change everything, and I don't know. You know, Charlie Munger who's worn buffets, I don't know about that, but it is amazing. And so companies, I think maybe even iHeart are starting to crack down on using chat GPT at work. And I've heard a couple of very interesting theories. One is that you know, if you put something into chat GPT in open Ai,
it now gets to hold onto that information. So if you're putting proprietary private company information or financials in there or whatever because you wanted to spit out a report that you still own that information that comes back to you, but open ai gets to keep the information and use it to make the program better, so that maybe when your competitors use open ai, they can access that information. So companies are taking a very conservative approach to it now because they're
not sure what might happen if they put private information in there. That is a great point, and I think until we figure out what that is, I think companies are right to say no, no, don't use it. I think so too, until we know just be well, it's like everything you know, I think I've told you before. At NBC our phones, we're not allowed to have TikTok TikTok on our company phones because it's owned by a Chinese company with ties to the government. It's I don't know, you
know, I think AI is a big deal. I'm not sure it's going to change the world. But then I'm an old folky. Well I'm right there along with you. I want to talk about the Elizabeth Holmes case. You were the one who sucked me in, because I will admit at first I was like, I don't really care about this case. And then the more that you started talking about Elizabeth Holmes and kind of the scam and how many people were sucked into it, then I got sucked into sort of the
juiciness of this case. Finally, Elizabeth Holmes of THEIRNS reported for prison yesterday. She surrendered. Let's talk about what she will actually be doing in this sort of white collar, cupcake world of prison she's in. You know, it is a you know, a low security, low level security prison outside Houston. There's not necessarily perimeter fencing through all of it, and she has to work. But it's still prison, Jennifer, it's still prison. And
I've talked to a lot of former white collar criminals. I actually have. I did a whole story on what it's like when you go to one of these prisons and you're not really surrounded by Martha Stewart. There may be a few people there, Jennifer Shaw from Real Housewives of I guess Beverly Hills is in that prison too, but they know there are a lot of drug dealers in there. There are a lot of people that you would not want to
have living in your neighborhood. And to a person the former white collar criminals I've talked to, said, you know, here's a couple tips. Memorize important phone numbers before you go in, or have them mailed to you inside because you don't remember your phone numbers anymore and you don't have a phone. Tell your visitors not to handle any cash ahead of the visit because there may be drug residue on them. And keep your mouth shut. People who ask
a lot of questions are suspected of being rats. Interesting all right, super sidebar, But I'm glad that you told me that because a friend of mine from high school is in prison and he's now in the what is it, Prato can't Prado here? And he we of course have kept in contact and written letters and whatnot. And he served his time and he's about out, and he said, oh my gosh, you're literally down the road, you know, would you come visit me? And I'm not gonna lie. At
first, I was like, I'm not going to prison. Then there was the reporter part of me. He was like, I'd love to go inside prison. Of course, I would love to come see you. So those things that you just said, though, I never even thought of. I mean, I was looking at more of just the like what you can bring,
what you can't bring, that kind of stuff. But I never thought about those types of things and what actually just might be on my hands if i'd gone to the whatever the convenience store before I went and saw him. These are lessons learned? Or did you say he's getting out now? He's getting out in September, so I will have a few more months that I guess I can go or I'm not sure how it works, but you have to like submit, I had to submit Social Security numbers and all that kind
of stuff. But oh, yeah, yeah, you know, I was. It's just fascinating kind of the process. So who knew, Jane that I would need tips on going to prison to visit somebody inside. Help. Thank you? And can we end with the world's laziest scammer? Because I feel like this is my brother from another mother. This would be me. Okay, So Forbes did this, and there's this guy on Twitter named Doug
Hogue. Don't know if he's a guy, don't know if that's really his name, sure, but he is one of these persons who comes online and it finds people who are really into meme stocks and he's like, hey, invest with me, invest on my platform. This guy, according to form, so lazy nobody. You just google him, you'd see that his platform has a fake address. You'd see that his original profile picture with somebody else. And people were sending him money. And so Forbes reached out to him
and he refused. He actually asked the guy, Hey, why don't you give me two hundred fifty thousand dollars Instead of answering his questions, I reached out to him. I said, are these true? And whatever? Doug Hogue really is, says I never money was never directly sent to me. I can't comment on this, and he changed his profile picture. But people, bottom line just you gotta google the person. You gotta google the street
address where they say that the businesses don't. This guy was having people allegedly send money directly to his Capital One Bank account. Home on, people, Hold on, people, that's so lazy. Don't be stupid. Don't be stupid. You will google your dating life, but you won't google if you're sending somebody money. Come on now, people, I'm with you, Jane, come on, all right, we'll talk next week. Jane Wells, You're awesome, Thank you, Bye bye bye. You can follow Jane on
social media at Jane Wells. All right, let's take Good Morning now to ABC's and Flarity and I pose this as a riddle this morning, what do people think fifty percent of or three quarters of women under fifty don't trust the Supreme Court on what it's reproductive reproductive health rights. So basically, they're very upset about the decision that was almost a year ago now when the Supreme Court
flipped Rov. Wade and turned it over to the States. They said abortion was not a constitutional right for women, and we're finding poll after poll that most women disagree with this. And the reason why this is a big problem is that Republicans really haven't consolidated or agreed upon one policy that they think can speak to American voters. And what we're seeing in these polls is that, you know, people want to vote on this issue and they think that the
decision overall should be between a woman and a doctor. Prior to Rovie Wade and the overturning, were the numbers different or were women starting to lean this way anyway, So you know, it wasn't really on the minds of many voters. We did a separate ABC poll with the Washington Post where we found two thirds, again two terms of Americans opposed the job decision, and fifty one percent felt that they believed that the Court was acting off their own personal
politics. That was a seven point drop in confidence in the court from before Jobs. So it really has changed. You know, American opinion on this really has changed. And I think one thing that you'll see is that, you know, for the past twenty years, people just didn't really think too
much about abortion rights unless it was right in front of them. It seems like a subtle debate, and of course this decision dredged all that up, and now we're seeing about a third of women of reproductive age say they are going to go to the polls to solely vote on this issue. So I think this is going to be, you know, one of the top for twenty twenty four. And again, Republicans really have to decide where they're going to stand them this because they think, you know, the being kind of
wishywashing on it, Bob Weaving on it. I don't think that female voters, particular independent voters, suburban women. I think they want to know where candidates stand one way or the other. Absolutely, all right, thank you so much, Anna, I appreciate your time. Think see you later. That is ABC's Anne Flaherty, not as surprise at all, but she did point out something that is pretty fascinating in the sense of you didn't really even
debate abortion. And I know that sounds silly, like in casual conversation, but remember, I don't know. Twenty years ago, I feel like abortion was that hot button topic that you could literally be at the most lovely, benign dinner party you've ever been at, and somebody could say abortion go and
there would be this eruption. Right recently, though, I don't feel like that was the case, because I think that we were all under the assumption that the way Roe v. Wade that it would stand right, and maybe we did not see we would have this conservative court that would take a different stance on it. But now the issue of abortion again is so divisive that that's one of these topics I stay away from. And it wasn't something that ever came to mind before. It was like, oh, don't talk religion
in politics when you're out in a dinner party. Don't debate this one either. Again, it's just as hot as it was two decades ago. State and local leaders have teamed up in Newport Beach to plan for a projected foot and a half sea level rise by twenty fifty. You have billions of dollars of real estate that earned jeopardy. Newport Beach Chamber CEO Steve Rozanski says,
even if projections don't pan out, coastal cities must prepare. We've already been seeing the Bay water has topped over the sea walls that surround the Bay. City Development Director Simone Jurgis says the two days summit this month included solutions such as artificial reefs, higher sea walls, and even putting homes on stilts. We have about one hundred and sixty homes that are in a flood zone, and so when you build a brand new house, you have to raise that
house up by five feet. In Orange County, Corbin Carson k if I News, I thought this was interesting. North Korea admitting failure. filling in for me. Why I can't believe this. It is my third high school reunion and I looked at the guest list and my girlfriend from high school kind of one of the only ones that I really keep in touch with. Her name's Lisa. Lisa and I have known each other since we were three years old. There was a play The King and I there was happening at the local high school, and my parents had me audition at the rip old age of three, So literally, I've been an entertainer since I was
three. Lisa and I were cast as the two bad girls, shocking and we've been friends ever since. We went to high school together and then junior college together actually, and it's great. So Lisa and I had to look at the list though of people who are coming to the reunion and sat for an hour and a half on the phone night before last going okay, who is that again? Oh? Right? Did we like her? It brought me right back to high school? Does she mean to me? Oh?
I think I didn't like her. I think she stole my boyfriend. It was one of those conversations. So I'm kind of excited about going back for the reunion. And then there's also part of me that's like, oh, I was glad high school was over. Girls are mean in high school, And then makes you go, was I mean in high school? Maybe? I don't know, I was a teenage girl. Anything's possible, right, But anyway, it's gonna be a lot of fun. If you follow me

How about we just all go in T shirts and shorts, level the playing fields and be like, yeah, I gained fifty pounds. Yeah whatever, you know, I've got a divorce whatever, Like, let's just throw it all out there in the beginning and then high five, have a great rest in the night. I don't know.
