tap for today. Let's get started with some of the stories coming out of the KFI twenty four hour newsroom. Israeli airstrikes have continued across the Gaza Strip, even as humanitarian aid is allowed in ABC's Matt Gutman says at least fifty four trucks of aid were delivered yesterday, carrying food and medicine, but no fuel, Israel fearing it could be used by hamas the aid meeting only about one percent of Gaza's daily needs, coming as Israel launched one of its deadly's

barrages on God. Yet, Gutman says Israel has struck hundreds of targets and promised a multilateral operation in the air, ground, and sea. Officials in Gaza say more than four hundred Palestinians have been killed in the last twenty four hours. Part of the Orange County District Attorney's communication system has had to be

shut down because of a cyber attack. We deal with highly sensitive confidential information Wornge County DA spokeswoman kimberly Ed says the third party is helping check for vulnerabilities and the FEDS are helping to catch the culprits. We're going to have to go back to doing things the way they used to be done before technology was introduced into the criminal justice system. That means filing cases in person, among other things. Ed says alerts of a breach started coming in Friday, but

so far there are no indications that sensitive case info has been compromised. In Orange County Corbin Carson k FIN News, the bus driver's strike in Santa Clarita is into its second week. Santa Clarita Transit canceled all bus and transit services over the weekend because it didn't have enough available drivers. Service during the week is limited. The union wants a nine percent pay increase for twenty twenty two, an eight percent increase for this year, and an eight percent increase for

next year. The Transportation Authority has repeatedly offered or reportedly offered, nineteen dollars seventy five cents per hour to start, with a twenty five cent increase after a year, and then increases over five years. The La County DA's offices. It is investigating labor practices within hotels in La County. The investigation in response to recent strikes organized by Unite Here Local eleven. The union claims striking

workers have been replaced by homeless refugees, mainly in the housekeeping departments. Hotel front desk workers, cooks, housekeepers and others have been on strike since July. They're demanding better working conditions, higher wages, health insurance and pensions. Mary lou Retten's daughter says the former Olympic gymnast is out of the hospital where she was treated for a rare of pneumonia. She said to be recovering at home. Two weeks ago, Written's daughter said her mom was in the ICU,

unable to breathe on her own and fighting for her life. Right now, let's say good morning to ABC's Jordana Miller. Jordana, I know we were scheduled to talk with you yesterday, and with all that's going on over there, I have to tell you we were a little bit worried about you. So happy to hear it was just connection problems. It was just connection problems. You know. I love talking to you guys because I'm a native of California. Oh. I didn't know that in californielis of Los Angeles.

Nice, kay, we got a hometown grown. Okay, Jordana Taylos tell us what's going on. Lots of developments, including the release of two hostages, and one of them's talking, so essentially the hostage. There were two

hostages that Hamas released. They're both Israeli women in their eighties, and one of them is was speaking today to the press and she described her time in captivity as quote well, she said that she was beaten, that she was forced to walk for a kilometers in what she described as a spider webs of

different underground tunnels. That only when she was separated from a larger group of about thirty hostages, which she treated a little bit better with food and medical attention, likely because Hamas then realized or had made the decision that they were going to try to release her. You know, her husband is still in captivity, and the other woman, who is in seventy nine year olds her

husband is also still in the clutches of the terror group. Hamas, it appears, is trickle by trickle, letting out small numbers of hostages and what appears to be an effort to delay Israel's ground invasion of the Gaza strip Israel is now we're hearing from credible sources that Israel will now hold off a little bit on their ground invasion to allow for other negotiations if we can see the

release of more of these hostages. Remember Comoso holding two hundred and eighteen, that's Israel's count, but the militants themselves say they're holding about two hundred and fifty or sixty, Which is interesting because if they're doing it as a delaying tactic, and they were, like you said, letting them trickle out and being released every day or two, I mean that pushes things back three months if you were waiting until out right, and I think that's exactly what they're

hoping for, is to somehow drag this process out and try to improve their image quote unquote in the international community, you know, instead of being viewed as butchers and murderers who you know, killed and burned babies and raped women and tried to behead people, which are the facts and evidence we've seen of their rampage on October seventh. They're trying to, you know, tew the world. No, we're humane. Look, we've let out a mother and

her daughter and now two elderly Israeli citizens. But I have to tell you, I do not believe that Israel will delay their ground invasion by more than a few days because they see that Kamas is trying to play tricks, if

you will, with the international community. The more time it has to prepare for thee for the ground incursion, the better for hamas more pressure it can create internally in Israel, for families who say, oh, you know those two were released, maybe my loved one will be too, and they'll put pressure on the government not to go in on the ground. So these are

this is all described by Israeli officials as a kind of psychological warfare. Yeah, it's got to be, and it's got to be so heart wrenching for the families because when they see the really they get a little bit of that hope and they don't know even if some of the hostages are still alive. But I know everybody's looking for a little bit of hope. And speaking of a little bit of hope, there is some aid getting into Gaza, not

a lot, but some is getting in, that's right. I wanted to tell you another interesting detail before we get to the issue of Gaza aid, which thank god, is beginning to get into the Gaza strip. This woman who was kidnapped, you headed Liveships and her husband, Odad. It's worth noting they are peace activists and that for close to, you know, more than a decade, they have been shuttling cancer patients dozens of all ages,

especially children, across the border and to his early hospitals and back. They you know, they in other words, they have been working towards you know, a kind of ultimately a kind of piece of the Palestinians and helping the billion population. And of all of the you know, people to be kidnapped, they were kidnapped. So you know, I think, you know that that sheds light on you know, we have to understand people living along the

Gaza Strip border. They're not some you know, crazy right wing fanatics. You know, these are all kinds of Israelis. And in this case, this was a couple that you know, had dedicated their you know, twilight senior years to volunteering and helping Gossoms on the issue of aid. There's now about sixty trucks have come in between Saturday, Sunday and yesterday today. There's another likely twenty that will pass in so maybe eighty. It is providing some

aid to the Godza strip. But we have to you know, we have to tell the story as it is, and that is that this aid is vastly. It is not enough, it is it is one tenth of what the Godza Strip used to get on a day basis, or trucks a day. They used to be three hundred. Yeah, so we've seen that the trucks are lined up in Egypt waiting to get in. Why is the process so slow? I know you've got to run, but can you answer that

real quick? Of course, it's slow because on the Israeli side, before the trucks you know, pass through, there are Israelis who are inspecting all of the cargo and that takes time. Israel wants to make sure there aren't

weapons that are in there. And for now, Israel doesn't want fuel going in to the Gaza Strip because they believe it will only help Hamas's military structure that's also working on generators, you know, for example, the tunnels, you know, keeping the lights on in the tunnels and air conditioners and through these tunnels that's all you know, they are the military, the Commas, militants and the terrorists they're living. You know, they need fuel for their

generators and Israel doesn't want to give it to them. The bad side of the hospitals aren't getting them either, so it's just I mean, it's just tragic all the way around. Jordana Miller, thank you so much for connecting with us today. We're glad you're safe and we'll look forward to our next conversation. Take care. Thanks. One of the two hostages released by Hamash yesterday is the seventy nine year old mother of a man from San Diego.

The woman's husband is still missing. Israel says Hamas is still holding more than two hundred people hostage, including some Americans. Former President Trump and his former attorney Michael Cohen are both expected in a courtroom in Manhattan today in Trump's civil fraud trial. Cohen's expected to testify that nothing happened at the Trump organization without

the Boss approving it. Electricity rates in Glendale could soon be skyrocketing if a proposal passes, Rates would go up about fifteen percent in December, another eleven percent in July of next year, and then another eleven percent in July twenty twenty five. Glendale Water Empowers is the higher rates would pay for solar power projects. A biofuel plant and upgrades to the power grid. At six oh

five, it's Handle on the news. The studios are reportedly ready to make a new offer to SAG after as the two sides get ready to sit down for more negotiations today. Right now, let's say good morning to the host of How to Money on KFI. It's Joel lars Guard. Good morning, Joel Amy. Hi morning. Hey, So let's get started with some not so fun economic news, and that is that more people who own cars are

falling behind on their payments. Yeah. So we've seen some new stats come out and sixty day late payments have gone up significantly over the past couple of years, from like roughly two percent of borrowers experiencing a sixty day late payment and now it's up to six percent of borrowers reporting that being reported late on those payments, and so so much of that has to do with how much

more people are financing on the car front. But this is this is not good news from an economic perspective, and it's really bad news for a whole lot of individuals who fall into this these you know, percentage points. There's growing number of people who are experiencing delinquency on those car payments. Okay, so when we speak of that, what are the effects on the people, like, because you know that people are sitting there going, oh, maybe

I just can't make my car payment this month. It's not that big of a deal, but it is a big deal. And what are the long term effects of this? Yeah, I mean at some point, if you don't make payments over a significant period of time, that car is likely to get repossessed. And so if you can't make the car payment, it gets taken away, and that makes it really difficult to get to work to continue.

It creates this really awful downward cycle financially speaking, for so many people not being able to maybe get to work, not being able to get the paycheck, and then it's like, well I can't put groceries on the table now. So it's a really bad news. And so that's why I mean, I'm such a big proponent of people spending a whole lot less on their

cars. I know it's because more difficult in recent years, given how much of a surge we've seen in the price of used cars and new cars, we're starting to see those used car prices slide just a little bit, which is good, but overall, people spend and feel like they're it's okay to spend a whole lot more than I think is okay on a car, and

it gets people behind the eight ball. It gets them in trouble, especially when we're talking about rising rates on a lot of these loans, a lot of people paying nine to ten plus percent on the loan, and so they're taking out longer loans and it just is creating this really messy cycle. So the key for so many folks is to limit how much debt they take on

for a car. I'm you know, and this might sense is easier said than done, but I really, really really want people to consider paying cash for a car and only buying a car that they you know, don't have to finance at all. Ah cash the cars cost like thirty forty dollars now, oh, but they don't have to all right, And so that you're right, Like the the new cars are expensive. We have seen, you

know, new car prices go down. The Teslas have been like, man, those have gotten a whole lot cheaper in recent just over the last year as Tesla's been cutting prices. So yes, car prices are coming down a little bit, but man used car prices and I realized it's harder than ever to buy a sub five thousand dollars car that's in good shape. I think

it's still possible. There was somebody in the how to Money Facebook group who said was asking this question getting feedback from listeners, and then she was like, hey, I'm reporting back. I was able to get a six thousand dollars, you know, ten year old Cadillac and this thing, or maybe it was a fifteen year old Cadillact, but like I had it checked out by a mechanic, it's in good condition, and six grand. Like that's impressive, right. I think most people think that's not possible. It is

possible. It just takes a little bit of hunting, and it takes saying, you know what, I'm unwilling to go into debt for a car because I realized that it doesn't allow me to reach these other financial goals that I have. Yeah, especially with like we're talking about the high prices. If you do decide, I know this isn't your recommendation, but if you can't pay cash and you do finance it, I've got friends who've got six and

seven hundred dollars payments. Yeah, and so if you are going to finance, by the way, I want you to make sure you have at least a significant down payment for that car, right, And I also want you to make sure that you're getting financing or at least getting a quote from your local credit union, because you're likely to get better terms there than you are

if you go straight to the dealership and get financing there. So if you're going car shopping, have that quote in hand from your credit union already, and then make the car dealership, make the person in the finance department there beat what you got from the credit union, and you know, maybe they'll be able to do so. Oftentimes they're not. And so the other thing is just to keep that loan term down. So if you got if you have to take out longer than a forty two month loan, well you need

to look for a cheaper car. Okay. I do like going in though, to the dealership with a little leverage, yes, right, exactly. So if you've got that burden the hand from the credit union, it gives you you're sitting in the cap bird seat from a negotiating cool Okay, Now, speaking of high prices. I'm guessing that the cost of a Thanksgiving dinner is going to go up this year over last year. But where can we

get the best prices? Yeah, so it's it's true. And we haven't even hit Halloween yet, that's a week away, right, but we're already talking about candy. Candy is up thirteen percent on average from last year. Yeah, I mean, that's that's pretty crazy, right, And so if you're handing out candy, you're maybe be a little more sparse, but you're

given the kids When it comes to Thanksgiving. Walmart and Aldi just announced that they are doing some doing some special pricing starting November first for and through really actually through Christmas. They're going to be they're going to offer special pricing on a whole lot of holiday items. And Aldi said something like seventy items are

going to be discounted up to fifty percent off. And so these are what's known as lost leaders in the industry, right and oftentimes these you know, Walmart and Alday wants you to come in and not only do they want you to get the discounted items, but they want you to start shopping there more and they want you should buy other items there. But the truth is Walmart and Aldi are two of the best places to save money on groceries anyway.

So the fact that Aldi is taking additional discounts on top of kind of the low prices they already charge makes it kind of a no brainer. And there's an app, a website that I want people to look at when they're doing their comparison shopping on groceries. It's flip dot com flipp and it's one of those sites that basically puts all of those grocery store flyers in one place, and you just type in your zip code, you see all of you know, you see Walmart, you see Target, you see all do you see

all of these different places? And you can kind of say, before I even venture in to the grocery store, I want to kind of see what everybody's charging for different things, and it might be most the best policy for you to shop at a couple different stores to get the most savings. Okay, Flip dot com, f L I p P dot com. I am totally going to use that because I will tell you I was on in search of diet coke this week because diet coke prices have gone absolute through the roof,

they've more than doubled. And like you used to be able to get like three twelve packs for twelve dollars, and now it's eight ninety nine for a twelve pack or seven ninety nine if you buy three. So I'm on the hunt for good diet coke prices because every once in a while it still does go on sale. Yeah you got you gotta wait for those sales. You got to stock up. You get the three pack when it's you know, four ninety nine apiece or whatever. But I feel your pain on that

one. I'm a cherry coke addict to myself, and so yeah, it's it's sometimes I'll just I'll go without the if the price isn't right. Yep, okay, flip dot com. I love that. I love that. I know we were going to talk about savings accounts medical savings accounts, but we kind of ran out of time, So maybe we'll do that another time. I heard you talking about it this weekend and I was fascinated, So maybe I'm might have just to go back and listen to your podcast. Perfect.

Yeah, Well, and we can talk about it next week because that's when open enrollment really starts Okay, next week, so we can totally talk about hsas then and they are like the best retirement account that nobody knows about. Okay, Oh that's a nice tea. So next week it's a date, Joel Larsguard. We're going to be talking about the best way to invest for your retirement or one of the best. Sounds good, all right, looking forward to it. All right, How to Money with Joel lars Guard.

You can hear it every Sunday from noon to two right here on KFI. And if you want to follow Joel, it's at how to Money. Joel. Thanks so much for your insight and information. Joel, of course, thanks Amy. All right, take care. Let's get back to some of the stories coming out of the KFI twenty four hour newsroom zero and we

don't know the game again, and I'll ask. Airline's pilot's been arrested for allegedly trying to crash a plane he was a passenger on during a flight from Everett, Washington to San Francisco. Joseph Emerson is charged with eighty three counts

of attempted murder. ABC's Alex Stone says Emerson is accused of trying to shut down the engines in flight on Sunday, sources say an off duty pilot sitting in the jump seat heading to fly a Boeing seven thirty seven out of San Francisco, made a comment about I'm not right and then allegedly tried to pull fire extinguish your buttons. It would have killed the engine, so scary. The on duty pilots were able to stop him and he was subdued until they

got onto the ground in Portland and he was arrested. We're going to be hearing more about what happened with Alex Stone in about five minutes, so stick around for that. Want to hear more about that story? So crazy. A woman's been arrested for the fatal stabbing of her mother in Elmonte. The stabbing on Sunday happened on a lot with several homes on Rancheto Street. The

Sheriff's department says the possible murder weapon was recovered. Jury's selection is set to start in la in the federal trial of a dive boat captain over a fire in twenty nineteen that killed thirty four people. Jerry Boylan is facing a charge of misconduct or neglect by a ship officer. He's also accused of a series of failures, including abandoning ship. Federal prosecutor say Boylan was the first crew member off the boat, even though thirty three passengers and a crew member were

still alive and trapped below deck. Clippers opening night is tomorrow night, with tip off at seven thirty Again whence the Portland Trailblazers. Oh my home team. At Crypto dot com Arena, you can listen to the game on AM five to seventy. LA Sports Haffey hot Dogs, a socaw treasure for almost one hundred years, available at your local Albertson's Hafe Local original Great. Can you believe basketball season? It's already back. Two more hostages had been freed

by Hamas. Israeli officials say it was only an attempt to delay a possible ground invasion. One of the women, who's eighty five, said militants beat her with sticks, bruising her ribs, making and hard to breathe. They forced her to walk several miles and took her into a spider web like network of tunnels. Negotiations between sag After and the Hollywood Studios set to resume today. Management called the discussions off a couple weeks ago, saying the two sides

were too far apart, but reportedly they have a new offer. We shall see. The most stolen vehicles in California full sized Chevy pickup trucks, followed by Honda Civics. The National Insurance Crime Bureau says in twenty twenty two, more than twenty six thousand of just those two vehicles were stolen in the state. Vehicle thefts were up seven percent in twenty twenty two. At six oh

five, it's Handle on the news. Migrants staying on skid row have apparently been hired to work in La hotels, where workers have been striking since July. At five point fifty, we're going to be talking with our friend Kevin McManus with Pasadena Humane. There's a new Halloween time incentive for you to bring a new pet into your family. But right now, let's say good morning to ABC's Alex Stone, who has details about one of probably the scariest flights

in a long time. Hey, they're Amy, Good morning. How are you I I'm good, glad I'm on the ground. Well, yeah, I've a lot of people who were on the flight are as well, so, yeah, this was Sunday night. Alaska Airlines their regional carrier technically Horizon, but have everybody many times, yeah, yeah, everybody on board. You know, they booked it on Alaska, flying on a plane that says Alaska. It's owned by Alaska. So they were going ever in Washington to

San Francisco on Sunday night. Everything was good, they were flying. There was a off duty pilot in the jump seat up in the cockpit, which I think. You know, when you see another pilot up there, you think, great, that's that's good. We gott just tell you got a little help if something goes wrong. And totally common for pilots who are dead heading as it's called, going from one city to the other without working. That did they sit up there when the plane is full, there's no seats

in the back and they go sit up there and read a book. You know, they're not working while they're up there. But they were flying along and that extra pilot, forty four year old Joe Emerson, made some kind of comment. Our sources who have been briefed on the investigation say he said something along the lines of I'm not right and then went for the controls and

to kill the engines. And the allegation is he was trying to take down the aircraft and now charged eighty three counts of attempted murder, one for everybody on board, one hundred and sixty three charges overall. There was a scuffle in the cockpit. They got him out of there. They handcuffed him in the back and then made an emergency landing in Portland and then got him out of there. The radio call from the pilots down the air traffic control on

Live ATC sounded like this, Oh, we've got the occupant. He's a handcuffed and he's an a half back jumped seat. When law enforcements right and right now, he's saying calm. They got down on the ground and police boarded the plane and took that pilot away. And he's in jail right now, going to be in court around two this afternoon to hear the counts against him, and we may find out more at that point. Those who were

on board, some of them say they slept through all of this. One guy who was in one a said he had headphones on and was sound asleep. I guess, you know, kind of a story not to wear the noise canceling headsets and fall asleep that somebody may try to crash your plane and you have no idea. Others say that they did know stuff was going on. Aubrey was in eighteen A. She says, I was panicked. I was alone in the back, and you know, everyone was shifting around trying

to figure out what was happening. But it was relatively calm. Yeah, she says, it actually was pretty quiet what was going on. That the flight attendant, she didn't even realize that as they were escorting him to the back of the plane that he was handcuffed in that moment and they took him back there, and she thought it was a medical emergency that they were back there saying, you know, take a deep breath, you're going to be all right. We're gonna land. We're gonna get you taken care of.

And then she had after we did land and the gentleman was escorted off, the flight attendant got back on the speaker and said, plane and simple, he had a mental breakdown. We needed to get him off the plane immediately. So even at that point, after he had been escorted off, we didn't have any confirmation that it was a security threat and amy a preliminary review

of his service record shows he has a clean work history. The FAA is saying this has nothing to do with what's going on in the Middle East, that airlines have been warned to be on high alert right now for somebody who may try to do something based on what's going on in Israel and with Homas and Iran and anybody else who gets involved, that there could be attempts to do something and to be aware this was not that that they don't know a

motive seems like a may go down mental health, but it's not what's you know, no kind of terrorism or ideology or anything like that of what this was as it unfolded. Okay, so he was in the cockpit and he apparently he tried to pull some fire extinguisher handles which would have shut down the engines. Is that how we were understanding, Yeah, that's exactly right.

So the if there's a fire in the engine. They were in an Imbre one seventy five, which is pretty common plane that you see it did Burbank and other airports. Looks like a little miniature seven thirty seven, and that above the pilots are the fire tea handles as they call them. They look like tea's. You pull on them, it kills the engine. If there's an engine fire, puts fire extinguisher chemicals into the engine to stop that fire.

That the allegation is that he made that comment then went for the tea handles above the pilots. They stopped him from doing it and then got him out of there. So what I'm amazed about is that they got him off of the tea handles before he could pull him and then wrestled him, I would imagine in that little tiny cockpit, got him out of the cockpit and then sat down. And then you heard the captain just like a uh,

yeah, we're going to land in Portland. And some of the passengers have no idea anything was going on. It seems like a lot of it had to be in the cockpit and not outside of it. Well, here this is Alex. He was in one a so sitting in the very front. I was actually asleep while this was going on, and when I woke up, the pilot had said had clarified and said we're landing in Portland and said there was a disturbance the cockpit and we need to land in Portland immediately.

Yeah, and we don't know how disturbing, you know, the disturbance was in the cockpit. Were they like, dude, dude, no, you don't want to do this, you know? Was it all verbal? Was it physical? We don't know. We may get some of that today once he's been in court from court documents and was he saying anything else? You know, were they getting, you know, a little bit weary of him before this, and that they were watching him and trying to figure out what

was going on. We don't know now. I mean his neighbors. He lives in the Bay Area. His neighbors say, this is your quintessential pilot, you know, like he looks like a pilot, loves working for Alaska Airlines, loves being a seven thirty seven pilot, which, by the way, he was commuting the pilot a seven thirty seven out of SFO. Can you imagine what this would have been had he gone to work and been at command, at the commands of the aircraft. But his name say, great

dad, you know, just a good neighbor guy. This is one of the neighbors in the Bay Area and Pleasant Hill. We just can't imagine him. So everybody's baffled by this, but they're gonna have to look at you know, is he having marital problems, problems with his kids, his health, his finances. Does he have a lot of pilots of outside businesses? Is he having a problem there? What is going on? And right now they don't know. Yeah, Well, I'm just glad that cooler heads prevailed.

I have a question. I don't know if you know the answer to it. That imberor it's a jet. It's not a prop right, Yeah, it's a jet. It looks like yeah, it's got the engines under the wings. Looks like a little seven thirty seven. Okay. If he had succeeded in turning off the engines, could the plane still fly? I mean, I know it doesn't any thrust, but could it come to like

could it come down? Heah? I mean it would have glided at that point, like when you're landing, and you know, if they began to decrease their altitude, it could have They could have glided for a very long time to find an airport. Yeah, and they can restart the engines. Oh Okay, it's not perfect, it's not ideal. It depends on altitude and a number of different things. But after those are pulled, they can

be restarted. But I mean, you know, you don't want to be flying along and all of your engines go out that if they couldn't get them restarted. So yes, and then they they could have potentially gotten them restarted, but they wouldn't have gone nosedive at that point unless he were to go for the the stick and try to to nose down. But yeah, they

would have kept flying. Okay. Well, thank god for the pilots and then also the flight of tenants for helping out once they got him out of the cuppit and lovell Ass Airlines. Absolutely all right, thank you so much, Alex Stone. Appreciate your insight. You got it. Thanks Amy yi Keys, that's scary. We're just minutes away from Handle. On the news this morning, one of the two women released yesterday by Hamas is talking. She says she went through hell. I'll tell you more about that right now. Let's say good morning to Pasadena Humane's Kevin McManus. Good morning, Kevin, Good morning,

Amy, good ma. You sound like I woke you up this morning. Not all, not at all. Hey, the adopted Boo event is happening now at Humane Society. Tell us about it. Yeah, So, any we have quite a few large dogs right now who are looking for home. So from now until Halloween, any dog over thirty one pounds can be adopted for only ten dollars. And you know, we also are sending everybody, all the adopters home with a little trick or treat bag with some swag

for the dogs in it. Okay, cool, And so you've got a lot of big dogs, and I know that we went down, we talked to Kevin. I don't know if you saw our social media posts still up on Instagram if you want to go check it out. Then when they had an adoption event, and we got to see some great cats and dogs, but the big dogs there were several at that time too. They're harder to get into homes, that's right, yeah, I mean, of course it's

you know, a size issue. It's you know what, folks who have apartments, maybe they can't have a large dog, or they can have a pet it all. And so consequently, especially with the kind of downturn on me, we've seen just more big dogs at our shelter and other shelters throughout throughout southern California. So if you're thinking about expanding and you have the room to do it, if I seriously we talked about this when I was there. If I could have a dog, I would, But like you were

saying, there's so many people living in apartments. Cats is what I can do right now. But if you have the ability, is a thirty one or more pound dog during the adoptive boo events ten bucks and how do they go check them out? Do they just come down to the shelter? Do they look online? How do you do it? Yeah, well, the easiest way to do is look online. During the weekdays we have adoption appointments or adoption spy appointment excuse me, but on weekends we're having more walk INDs,

So definitely have a look at the website. It's pacidmihumane dot org. Pictures and short descriptions of all of the dogs. There's a link on there to make an appointment if you can come in during the week If you want to come in the weekend and kind of have a walk around, don't we have what we call visiting hours on Saturdays and Sundays from from two to five. Okay, great, idea great to come down walk in that way you can kind of lay eyes on the dog and get a feel for them.

But of course our adoption team is well versed on you know, all these all the dogs that we have, and they can help you make a good decision and when you go down there, you're probably going to fall in love several times over like I did. And wouldn't it be cool to have a new dog in your home around the holidays, you know, curled up around the Christmas tree, that kind of stuff. That's just my thought. See,

well it's a perfect time. You know. We've got Halloween, which is an amazing holiday, thanks for being, We've got Christmas, all these things that you know would be made so much better with having a dog. Okay. The adopt Aboo event is now through Halloween. Dog's over thirty one pounds ten dollars and if they want more information, where's the website Pasadena Humane dot org. Easy, all right, Kevin McMahon's always a pleasure. We

love to have you on. We'll be looking forward to talking to you about more adoption events in the near future. I'm sure for sure. All right, take care, sure, Thank you so much, thank you. Okay, let's get back to some of the stories coming out of the KFI twenty four hour news room. Negotiators for striking actors in Hollywood studios meeting again today to try to end the strike that started back in July. Talks broke off

nearly two weeks ago after five negotiating sessions spread over two weeks. would get the twenty four percent pay increase Providence is proposing. There's many other positions that wouldn't get that. It ranges from nineteen to eighteen to doll the way down to fourteen point seven over three years. Workers also say the hospital is highly understaffed, with some nurses being assigned forty patients at once. Providence said yesterday patient care won't be impacted during the strike.
