I know baseball season is over, but it makes me happy to think about the Dodgers until they think about the playoffs and how they got killed and eliminated in the first round. So

We're going to be getting an update from Israel with ABC's Georgiana Miller. The new Marvel's movie is out, Del Taco is going Street, and The House Whisper is giving us some holiday decorations hints here's what's ahead on the wake up call. The Hamas Health Ministry says four hospitals have been bombed overnight in northern Gaza. It says thousands of Palestinians have been sheltering at one of the hospitals and there are a lot of casualties. Israel's military says Hamas operates a command

center at the hospital and had told people to evacuate. Mortgage rates have dropped this week, the biggest one week declined since last November. Freddy Max says for the week ending yesterday, a thirty year fixed rate mortgage is at seven point five percent, down from seven point seven to six percent the week before. Still way too high. That's me talking, not Freddie mc j.

Joe Manchin is calling it quits. The West Virginia Democratic senator says he is not going to run for reelection next year, but instead plans to travel the country to see if there's any interest in getting Americans to come back together. Not a nice thought. West Virginia is a red state. Republicans see this is a great opportunity to pick up a seat in the Senate. We shall see at six oh five it's handle on the news. Israel has agreed to

a series of humanitarian pauses to let Palestinians leave northern Gaza. We'll be talking more about that. Let's get started with some of the stories coming out of the KFI twenty four hour newsroom. Schools, parks, and a Veterans Day celebration in Tustin have been shut down over concerns of air quality and asbestos following a fire at a massive blimpanger. We really need federal governments support to come

in take care of their own property, Tustin Mayor Austin Lombard says. The general concern is the asbestos and lead paint commonly used eighty years ago when the two seventeen story tall World War Two era blimp hangers were built. The eighty five acres around and including the north hangar are owned by the Department of Navy, so the federal government we actually don't even have access to the hangar asself. Fire crews were forced to let the fire that started early Tuesday morning burnout

due to safety concerns in Tustin, Corbin Carson kf I News. At least fourteen people have been injured when a public transit bus crashed into a restaurant in Long Beach when the cock came out speeding and front the bus. The bus picked the car up and went inside the building. It was a bad crash. Investigators say a speeding car was broadsided by the bus and both vehicles crashed into the seafood restaurant yesterday afternoon. Five people, actually ten people were taken

to the hospital. No one in the restaurant was hurt. Apple co founder Steve Wozniak has suffered a minor stroke during a conference in Mexico City. Seventy three year old says he felt dizzy Wednesday morning and experienced vertigo before going to the hospital. He'd been scheduled to speak at the World Business for him this week. Wosnik said, yes, he was back home in California and feeling good. NASA's oldest living astronaut, Frank Borman, has died. The agency

says he died Tuesday in Montana after suffering a stroke. Borman commanded two early NASA missions, including the first to orbit the Moon. He was ninety five. Hey, yesterday we were out and about at the California Science Center to see the Space Shuttle endeavor and got to talk to the CEO and president of the Science Center. That full interview is up on my Instagram now so you can hear what Jeffrey Rudolph had to say, and also see the Space Shuttle

if you haven't seen it. It is spectacular and hopefully it's going to make you want to go see it because it's only on display until the end of this year before closes down so it can be repositioned in the upright launch position. It's gonna be the first time a Space Shuttle's ever been displayed that way. Let's say good morning now to ABC's Tom Rivers. Tom, the US and South Korea are fast friends and they're teaming up against the bad guys.

Yeah, you got it in won no surprises. They're in lockstep And basically was a trip by Secretary of State B Lincoln after a two day visit to Japan for the G seven, where they talked about a number of issues, but I guess the first and foremost was really Israel and Hamas some of the countries wanted a ceasefire, but in essence, they got around the table a said, look, let's agree with at least humanitarian pauses. And use that as a as a starting measure. So then Blincoln moved on to South Korea,

and yes, you know, news flash, water is wet. They kind of get the same kind of a line there agreement between Soul and Washington on you know, what do you do with the problem that is North Korea. They talked about that. They talked about Russia with regard to Ukraine, and they talked about China the growing economic and military prowess of Beijing. So

yes, they are on the same page. And then the Secretary went on to now India where he's holding talks there again the same theme of pauses are okay, but basically the government in India would like to see a ceasefire in Gaza. And also Secretary Austin is there as well, talking about exchanging if you will, manufacturing and high tech if you will, defense sector planning between

the two countries. So yes, a lot to talk about over the past few days this road trip for predominantly Blincoln, but also Austin joining him in India. Okay, so Austin's talking about swapping technologies with India, not necessarily

with South Korea or also with South Korea. Well again, yeah, I mean, South Korea gets a lot of pretty cutting edge US weaponry, but India would be an area where you know, it's expanding, it's getting larger, it's getting more powerful, and it's growing in a way that the technology g there twenty years from now, you know, they might be in the catbird seat. So yes, trying to strike deals now with the US.

Any anything interesting or shadow linging revelations come out of the meetings of South Korea or US or was it just really a hey, we're friends and we're going to stick together and have each other's back. Yeah, got of the ladder. I guess the interesting point for the Headline Riders was they discussed this alleged North Korean possibility that they're shipping artillery shells to Russia for use in Ukraine. And again we've never seen the evidence of this, and the infrastructure in North

Korea is pretty bad. I guess you would have to ship it out on their antiquated railroad system and I have to go for thousands of miles, cut through China eventually get to Russia and then on to Ukraine. But you know, if in fact that is true, what do they get on the deal?

Well, relations would be warming between Pyongyang and Moscow. Russia would get you know, pretty basic if you will, ammunition in the form of artillery shells, and North Korea would get kind of the cutting edge technology that they don't have that they could incorporate into their missile program. And of course they want to put nuclear warheads on top of these missiles. So yes, both

sides would gain if that relationship continues to grow. Well, we know that Putin and Kim met not too long ago because Kim took his slow train to China or I guess it wasn't to China but a slow trained to Russia. Well, yeah, he went, Yeah, we went through China, but he got he got to the Fari. He got far far east. A lot of ostock, I think was where they close to there, that's where

they met up. Yeah. I think it's interesting when we were talking about South Korea and the US because you think, of you, we know that those two countries have a really tight relationship, but then you were mentioning that what they spent their time talking about was also Israel and North not North Korea, but Israel, Ukraine, Russian, which doesn't seem like a natural conversation like you expect those two to be just talking about North Korea because that's kind

of the next door neighbor in the real It's like it's like the old skit. I mean, you know, there's a lot of plates that are spinning on the stage right now, and uh, you know, you've got You've got the US for instance, You've got shipments of material to Ukraine and billions of dollars in taxpayer money. You've got two air craft carrier strike strike groups, one in the Eastern med one in the Red Sea heading toward the Persian

Gulf. You know, there's been saber rattling with Iran. There's concerns now that you know, with all of the distractions the US has, maybe China might say, you know what, we're gonna take Taiwan back. So, yes, you reach a point where too many plates are spinning and you really cannot maintain all of them at the same time. It's crazy times. Tom Rivers will We'll be watching it and I'm sure we'll be talking to you a lot more. If you want to follow Tom, you can follow him at

Tom Rivers ABC. Thank you so much for your insight and information. Tom, have a great weekend. Take care all right, let's get back to some of the stories coming out of the KFI twenty four hour newsroom. The Biden administration says Israel has agreed to four hour pauses in fighting in Gaza every day to allow for the safe passage of civilians and humanitarian aid. A spokesman for the UN Secretary General says any plans for short term pauses and fighting must

be carried out in coordination with the UN. Rabbis have joined Holocaust survivors at the Museum of Tolerance in La in a show of solidarity for Jews killed in the Hamas attack on Israel. Jews are calling on global leaders to take action against anti Semitism. Rabbi Marvin Hier is calling Hamas the Nazis of the twenty first century Hua October seventh, proudly broadcast their mass murdering, their ing they

had baby burning. The rabbi condemned attacks on all Jews yesterday on the eighty fifth anniversary of Crystal Knocks or the Night of Broken Glass, where in nineteen thirty eight Nazis terrorized Jews in Germany and Austria. In La Chris Adler KFI News the Wrong Way driver who plowed into Ella County Sheriff's recruits in Whittier has

been re arrested and charged. Mister Nicholas Joseph Gutierrez, twenty three, of Diamond Bart, has been charged with one kind of vehicular manslaughter and nine counts of reckless arriving costing injury. Ella County DA George Gascone says the driver hit twenty five recruits out on a morning run on November sixteenth of last year. The man said he had fallen asleep at the wheel. One of the recruits

died from his injuries eight months later. A man facing a life sentence for killing his ex girlfriend with a bomb in Orange County in twenty eighteen is pleaded guilty to federal fraud charges. Assistant US Attorney Mark Teklas says an FBI investigation of the bombing led investigators to Steven Biel's fake disability. He had also been receiving disability, he wasn't working at that time, and as they looked into all that, they recognized and opened up an investigation into the fraud. Be

Ill pleaded guilty yesterday in the fraud case. He says to be sentenced in February. He's facing life in federal prison for planting a bomb at a day spot in Aliso Viejo where his girlfriend worked or his ex girlfriend brother. She was killed and two others were injured. Riverside County Sheriff's deputies in Palm Desert are cracking down on by drivers who violate the state's hand free cell phone law.

Am I talking to you? They say, Drivers who need to make an important call or send a text need to pull over to a safe spot and always put their phones somewhere unreachable before starting to drive. The enforcement operation today is funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety. So if you break the law, you might end up in the lock up, And if you don't break the law, you might still end up in a jail. So this is just like my worst nightmare story. So this woman in Orange County

goes to visit a friend in jail at the Theolacey Detention Center. It's in Orange, So she wanted to see her friend or whoever this inmate was. The person was unavailable, so she was sitting in a visiting booth waiting and fell asleep. Well, no one noticed that she was sitting in the booth asleep. The area closed at five o'clock, they locked the doors and off they went, and she wasn't found until the area was reopened the next morning at eight a m. So she got to spend the night in jail.

There was no phone inside the visiting area, and of course when you go into jail, you can't take your cell phone with you, so she didn't have her phone, couldn't call anyone. The good news for her was the woman was in an area that's not really accessible to the inmates, so she's apparently okay. But they are investigating to see what happened, and an emergency phone is going to be installed in the waiting area, probably a good idea. Hey, Del Taco has gone. So we told you, or you

may have. Actually we didn't tell you yesterday, but Del Taco started offering a beria on its menu. It's braised beef served with a spicy consume, and Del Taco's added that to their menu. And so Nick and I were out and about and we went we got to do Del Taco, so we went and got it. We got the beria ramen. There was also the shredded beef beria casadia with consume with consume and also a beef beria tacos. So I thought it was good. I think I don't think it's as good

as you know, the stuff you get on the street. Yeah, I know that's one hundred percent accurate. Yea, because it's delicious and you if you see somebody driving around, you should definitely pull off. You should not be worried in any way, shape or form. They are all licensed by the county, so it's not a big worry there. But it was. Yeah, they're much more delicious. Although now I think we agreed on this one. The meat was really quite good. Yeah, the shredded beef was

really good. Yeah. So we had they had the casadia and the taco and it had the shredded beef in it, which was delicious and I like ramen, so it was good. But I will tell you the consumme was so so so salt like it was wild. It was like eating a bullion cube is really what it felt like. So yeah, So if you can't find a taco truck and you you have a hanker in for some yummy bea

del Tacos now offering it on their menu. The City of Tustin has declared a local emergency because of toxins in the air from the fire that destroyed a World War II era blimp hanger this week. Samples of ash collected from the area near the hangar of tested positive for asbestos, lead, arsenic, and nickel. The Ventura County Sheriff's offices it does not have enough evidence to warrant and arrest in the death of a Jewish protester in Thousand Oaks. His death

is considered a homicide. Sixty nine year old Paul Kessley died Monday, a day after falling and suffering a severe head injury. People of color have gotten equal time on TV for the first time. UCLA's Hollywood TV Diversity Report shows in the twenty twenty one to twenty two season, people of color got proportionate represent centation on broadcasting cable TV and also got more lead roles at six so five ITTs. Handle on the news, the Biden administrations being warned that its

support for Israel could do generational damage to its relationship with Arab countries. Let's say good morning now to ABC's Jordana Miller in Jerusalem. Jordana, it's not three days. It's four hours a day that Israel has agreed to, that's

right, and today it's actually eight hours, not four hours. The quarter on Salastine Highway, running from the north to the south of the Gaza Strip is now has been open for now more than seven hours, allowing tens of thousands of gozens to head south, and that is essentially Israel's humanitarian pause for the day, no military operations in the area. Next week, the Israeli Army may open as second corridor that heads north, you know, from the

north to the south along the coastline. But these are going to be areas where, you know, God willing, many civilians are going to be able to leave the north and get to the south, which is a safer area and where aid can be more quickly distributed. Okay. Now, Netan Yahoo in an interview that I saw, said that the operations against Hamas are continuing. So during those pauses, is it just that area or does Israel stop

down altogether during that time frame or do we know yet? Right, So, the pauses are only in that area and for those limited hours of the Israeli Army is operating as we speak in Gaza City in the dense areas there further north from that highway that opens up and then goes south. So this is not a humanitarian pause across the country for the military operation. It is only a pause to help civilians that Israel is securing, and it'll be at

different times. Today, instead of opening a second quarter as we thought, Israel allowed the same quarter it's had opened for the last few days a longer period, and yesterday fifty thousand Gossens fled. The day before another fifty thousand, So this may be an effective way to move people. That doesn't mean it's in any way easy. These are people who are leaving their homes and

everything they have, heading south to ten tent cities essentially. And there may be more aid in the south, but it's still not anywhere near the kind of aid that Gosins are used to seeing. So you know, this is let's not make more of it than it is to start, but you know, there's still a lot of hardship in the Gaza Strip, Okay and Jordana. As we've been talking over the last few weeks, Hamas has actually been preventing Palestinians from leaving certain areas. Israel was saying get out, get out,

and Amasa is saying no, let's just stay where you are. So now that these humanitarian corridors are being opened up, is Hamas letting them out. Is Israel protecting the Palestinians. Now Israel is protecting the civilian population. And we saw a huge dump jump midweek. On Wednesday, we suddenly saw

you know, fifty thousand people flee. So that tells you a little bit that Hamas is kind of losing some control over the population and the people there are just getting scared because Israel's closing in on Gaza City and the fighting is more intense. The bombing raids are more intense at night. They're coming from the sky, from the sea, you know, and people want to get

out. So, you know, Hamas doesn't have you know, they've they're kind of lost the propaganda war where they tried to convince civilians initially don't go, don't go. They even set up some barricades and from at least a couple phone calls and interviews that Israel did with gods and civilians, you know, some people, you know, Amas actually opened fire on them to try

to get them to turn back. But we see now that the gods and people are leaving in much greater numbers, and Hamas is just unable to stop them. Okay, well, let's hope that that continues and more people are able to get out to a safer place. Thank you so much, jar Dana Miller. I'm sure we'll be talking to you next week. Have a safe weekend. Talk soon. All right, here's some more of the stories

coming out of the KFI twenty four hour newsroom. Sag After his national board is going to review a proposed labor deal with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. If the board votes to approve it, it'll be sent to union members to vote on ratification. The union put out and notice yesterday yesterday saying effective immediately, all sag After members should fulfill their contractual obligations and return to work. A tool developed at UC Irvine is collecting global data to help

the fifty million people impacted by human trafficking around the world. Doctoral candidate Kelsey Morgan says the life Map app features an online questionnaire that's already showing trends in the data not just an Orange county, but reflected worldwide. That of the six domains finance, education, and employment have the highest level of vulnerability and the highest priorities selected by survivors. Morgan says the goal is to gain better

information that'll help providers connect survivors with what they need. The OC Human Trafficking Task Forces implemented the tool, which includes user friendly platforms for young adults and kids. Counterfeit Counterfeit ozempic is on the rise. Two people have reportedly died and three others have endup but in the hospital because of the bogus weight loss drug injections. The cases have been recorded on the FDA's Adverse Event Reporting System,

which mentions twenty eight other serious outcomes in the US. Health experts say people should be sure to double check that the ozembic they're getting is authentic. Election offices across the country are on high alert after suspicious mailings addressed to elections offices were intercepted. One was addressed to the Sacramento County Department of Voter Registration and Elections. Other packages were sent to Georgia, Oregon, and Washington.

The Hamas Health Ministry says four hospitals have been bombed overnight in northern Gaza. It says thousands of Palestinians have been sheltering at one of the hospitals, and there are a lot of casualties. Israel's military says Hamas operates a command center at that hospital and had told people to evacuate. The Grammy nominations are being announced this morning. Nominees will be announced by artists including John bon Jovi,

Weird Al Yankovic, and Jeff Tweety. The twenty twenty four Grammys will be held in law, Los Angeles in February. Taylor Swift's Midnights is a heavy favorite to be nominated for Album of the Year. At six oh five, It's handle on the news. It's a no go for Joe West. Virginia Democratic Senator Joe Manchin will not run for reelection in twenty twenty four. At five point fifty, we're going to be talking to our entertainment guru, ABC's

Jason Nathanson. We'll find out if Jason thinks the Marvels is marvelous. And no, that was not grammatically incorrect. Right now, let's talk to are not horse whisperer, but house whisperer. Nice Dean Sharp post of Home with Dean Sharp right here on Kfi. Good morning Dean, Good morning Amy. So holidays we're done with, We're done with Halloween, and now we have the speed bump that is Thanksgiving, That's what I call it, because people

are shifting into Christmas mode. So is it too soon to start decorating your home for the holidays? Well, not for the holidays, not if you count thanks Giving is not a speed bump. But you know, but no, you know, Tim Conway asked me last night, how early is too early? I think these days, I think once you're in November, you know, I think I think it's pretty much open game. Nobody's going to

get upset with you. Not when, not when Costco has got Christmas trees in August right well in home Depot and Low's everybody said Christmas out since like, yeah, well the summer was still going exactly. So No, I don't think it is. I don't think it's too early at all, especially in the latter part of the month. But let me tell you though, just to not ignore Thanksgiving, I think November is a kind of a slump

in decorating. Maybe everybody's just gaining their strength and getting ready. But but you know, we hit Halloween and you know, a lot of people get very festive for Halloween, and then as soon as Halloween is done booming, so the first day of November, which is just you know, we've got this beautiful fall weather. I mean, it is really the beginning of the

holiday season, but not a lot happens. So let me just say this, Decorating for fall is well worth every penny and every minute because it only takes a minute. All you have to do is pile a bunch of farmy stuff out on the front porch. A few gourds, pumpkins, you know, a cornstalk or two, maybe a hay bale. You simply pile that near the front door. And man, it is it's beautiful. It's really beautiful. It is, and it's it is like you said, it's it's

warm, and it's homey and comforting. I love I love the fall harvest decorations. I do it around my house. So I decorate for not get my holiday straight. I decorate for Halloween, and then after Halloween is over, I keep all the pumpkiny things out, but put away the ghosts and the spiders and that kind of stuff exactly. And a lot of people are concerned like, well, I can't put out pumpkins because you know they they're gonna rot, They're gonna go bad. No, they're not. Jack o'

lanterns do that because you carve the guts out of them. But pumpkins are a winter squash. They have very thick skin. They will sit there on your porch for weeks and weeks and weeks and weeks, and then you know, turn them into a pie. Yeah, unless you have like what I have, which I think is possums who are eating big chunks out of my little pumpkins on the front porch. Well, that is true, that is true. Their critters will enjoy some critters will enjoy the treat that is a

pumpkin on your porch. But generally speaking, people are in good shape. Okay, so let's talk about a little bit about holiday decorations. I know that a lot of people do them themselves, but I want to know when are you good to go to do your own decorations and when should you call in a pro All right, Well, you know it's very simply this. I think number one, if you are comfortable with the tools required, I mean really comfortable, you're not trying to prove anything, including yourself, you

know, something to yourself. If you're really comfortable with it, then I think you are good to go. There aren't many decorations these days that are pro specific. I would only say I don't want you if you got the idea this year, you know what, We're going to wrap that entire elm tree in the front yard with twinkly lights. Don't back climbing. Don't be climbing up into the elm tree, right And unless you are going to rent the right kind of ladder or lift to get that done, then that's something

that you call in somebody to take care of it. And there are services all over southern California that will do that kind of thing for you. But if we're talking about, you know, the kind of the normal stuff, get up on a ladder, hang lights around the edge of the roof, that kind of stuff then and most of the time, by the way, it's not about getting on the roof. It's just about getting on a safe ladder next to the roof. And there are ways to do that, like

getting an extension ladder with a stabilizer on it. A stabilizer's this forty fifth dollar accessory that can go on the top of your extension ladder. That will hold it out nice and firm away from the wall. It won't crush your gutters. It's safe for you, it's safe for the house. It's just

a really good idea. But if you're comfortable with that kind of stuff and willing to take your time, then you know, I say move forward, especially these days since there are so many new I don't want to say tricks, but really it comes down to techniques for putting up Christmas lights. One of the things I'm most excited about. I was just going to ask you about this. I know what you're going to say. These magnetic light clips

and wire clamps. Okay, so you don't have to put the clips on the gutter, and you don't have to put nails into the side of the house to hang out exactly, No weird plastic clips on the guter, No nails or staples around or in through the wires that mess things up. These things. There are two different kinds there. There are these magnetic clamps that

can clamp onto a wire without just disturbing the wire. They just surround the wire, and that means you can hang any kind of light set whatsoever but if you have a traditional light set with the traditional kind of socket bulb, then there are clips also that fit right over the back of the socket. And these are really powerful magnets. Okay, these are not your old school

weak magnets. So these things and literally here's the thing. You've either got gutters around the edge of your roof or right at the roofline, right below the shingles. You have a two inch strip of edge metal coming off of your roof, the perfect place to put these. And now all you do is reach up and snap boop. They just snap right in and you can position them, taking them down as easy, putting them up as easy, and they're strong enough to hold up through winds and rains. It's just a

great idea. I love that idea. Okay, then one other idea, but I'm not going to have you tell us about it now. I'm just going to have you tease it right now. If you don't want to put specific little lights up all around the house. Flood lighting is a new and you're going to be talking about that this weekend. Absolutely color changing floodlge Ooh okay, And then the other thing you're doing this weekend on home with Dean sharp Is. You're doing an all call weekend. It is an all call.

We every few weeks we try and set aside everything just to take calls because our listeners are always calling in. I never get to all the calls. So Saturday and Sunday, if you've got questions about your home anything, design, construction, diy, from top to bottom, from property line to property line, now is the time to give me a call and we'll put our heads together and figure out what's going on with your home. Okay, So you've been doing this, you say you do it every few weeks or

so, and you've been doing the show for how many years? Six? Seven, eight years? It's in January, it's going to be seven years. Oh my goodness, I'm for an anniversary. So what's it like off the top of your head, what's one of the craziest calls you've gotten? Oh, you don't have to say their name. I'm sure you remember one or two. Well, we did get a call about somebody who was convinced, since we're just getting off of Halloween, that their attic was haunted,

I mean actually haunted. And I thought, you know, because we do this little show, you know, how to deal with your haunted house, and that just means weird noises that are taking place, and how to fix some of you and I talked about that, but we've we've gotten calls before from a couple of people who actually said, my attic is haunted. I'm like, Okay, what do you think I'm going to be able to do?

You should be calling an exorcist, not the house Whisper. I'm here to help you deal with the actual creek, not the voice that is coming from your attic, the voice of the small child. Well, I think that's a test. What do you think about I think it's a testimony to you, Dean. They think that you can solve all of their house problems. Yeah, well don't you think Dean can solve every problem? See?

There you go. I think except for I have to say this, and I'm not patting myself on the back, but you know, I've done this for a long time. Except for the paranormal questions, I think generally speaking, I have not been stumped on the show yet in six and a half years. Okay, fabulous. So we've got the House Whisper home with Dean Sharp. It's coming up this weekend six to eight Tomorrow morning and nine to

noon Sunday morning, and it's an all call weekend. So if you've got a question about your house, Dean's the guy to answer it for you. Thank you, Dean Sharp, thank you Amy. All right, I have a great day. Let's get back to some of the stories coming out of the KFI twenty four hour newsroom. Air Quality officials have detected asbestos in the debris of a massive World War II era blimp hanger in Tustin that caught fire this week. Mayor Austin Lombard says, oh See, fire officials only have

access to the Navy's eighty five acres of land while fighting the fire. Once the fire burns off, they need the Navy to come in and clean up the mess, and you know, we'll help support them in that effort and get resources that we have available, but the city's not going to be taking the lead on the cleanup. We need the Needle to do that, Lombard says. Veterans Day celebration for Saturday had to be canceled. Schools in nearby

parks are closed because of asbestos concerns. Fire crews have been unable to get into the seventeen story tall hangar. Since the fire started on Tuesday morning, a person's been found dead in a car that caught fire in Lincoln Heights. Fire crews were called just after seven last night. La City firefighters are looking into the circumstances. West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin says he is not running for reelection. He says he'll spend time traveling in the country instead to see if

there's any interest in creating a movement to mobilize the middle Mansion. Considers himself a centrist moderate conservative Democrat. The city of Tustin has declared a local emergency because of toxins in the air from the fire that destroyed a World War II era blimphanger earlier this week. Samples of ash collected from the area near the

hangar have tested positive for asbestos, lead, arsenic, and nicol. The Ventura County Sheriff's offices it doesn't have enough evidence to warrant and arrest in the death of a Jewish protester one thousand Oaks. Sixty nine year old Paul Kesley died Monday, a day after falling and suffering a severe head injury during dueling Israel Palestinian protests. Long Long Beach health officials say someone in the city has

come down with Saint Louis encephalitis. That's a mosquito born virus and hasn't been seen in Long Beach since nineteen eighty four. The diagnosis comes a week after the city confirmed its first local case of Dengay virus. We're just minutes away from handle on the news this morning. As I mentioned, Aman is dead, but no charges are going to be filed in the case of sixty nine year old Paul Kesley, who died during the Dueling rallies in Thousand Oaks last

weekend. Right now, let's say good morning too, ABC's entertainment guru, our very own Jason Nathan Send, Good morning, Jason say good morning. Okay, So the big question of the day, Yes, because I saw the Marvels. You saw the Marvels. Is the Marvels marvelous? Is the Marvel's marvelous? I would say, no, marvelous. I agree, Marvelus is a very strong word, one that could only be used by Billy Crystal

to describe things. And I don't look up. Yes, I don't think this quite lives up to it, and I don't think the box office is going to be marvelous, not to quite what they're looking for. It's going to finish at number one, but we're looking at maybe sixty million dollars,

which is well on the lower end of a Marvel opening. And Marvel's had some issues after being one of the most bankable franchises for years, for the past couple of years now, they've had lots of misses more than hits, which is and this is not going to be the one that writes the ship unfortunately. Wait, you know what, I agree with you. I think that at some point they need to put a pause on this. They're cranking out so many Marvel movies that they're not special anymore. Yeah, and Bob

Iger talked about that this week on the Disney earnings call. And they're going to be doing They're going to be kind of refocusing and not kind of diluting the brand on Marvel and Star Wars when it comes to TV shows and movies. They're going to take a little bit of a step back and kind of rethink. A lot of this stuff wasn't very good either. Yeah, And so we'll see what's going on with that this film is kind of a sequel

to Captain Marvel from twenty nineteen. You have Bree Larson's character back, Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel, and we've had, you know, like you've been talking about in the past couple of years, we've had other characters introduced. So there's Miss Marvel played by Iman Vallani. He's adorable, she's great, and she has kind of power similar to that of Captain Marvel. And then you also have Monica Rambo, who we know from the first film as a

younger child, but also then from One Division. So you have to kind of know what's going on with One Division, you have to know what's going on with Miss Marvel, and then of course Captain Marvel to really know everything that's going on here. And the three of them all have similar powers, their powers getting tangled. They have to figure out exactly what's going on.

Like you mentioned there, Aman Vaalani is really kind of the star of this She is she she was Miss Marvel in the TV series and as a teen it's her story is really great and infectious because she was a huge fan of

the Marvel movies. The actual not the character, the actual actress aman Vaalani huge fan of the Marvel movies and then gets cast in them and playing a character who is a huge fan of the Marvel characters, right, and so she is kind of playing herself in these films and her joy like it just seeps through, and it absolutely does. I think that her performance is so fun and refreshing. Yeah, and so that's one of the best parts of this. I really I always like Brie Larson, and I think she brings

something as well. She's not necessarily given a whole lot to do here that really speaks to her talents, but she's always good. And then you have Goose the Cat, which is also a lot of fun. And there are kittens which are fun as well. There's some wacky, weird stuff that happens in this one, which I like. I like when they get a little strange, seems like they you know, maybe was written in California and somebody

was smoking something. But overall this is, Yeah, this is not going to be the one that kind of this is not going to be the hit that Marvel really kind of needs at this point. Yeah, And the other thing about Brie Larson, I agree, it didn't seem like her character didn't get to do anything really interesting and go anywhere interesting. I mean, they did interesting things, but ye know what I mean, like its character development

and all that stuff. And plus it was weird to see her as Captain Marvel because right now I'm watching her in Lessons in Chemistry on Apple TV and that is really interesting. Yeah, it's really interesting and really kind of shows again how good of an actress she is, because you know she she is a fantastic, really really good actress. Academy Award winning and and and I think you know, in the in the Marvel movies, we haven't really gotten

a chance to see that. Although I think she brings a certain certain energy, a certain I don't know exactly what the is, but when she's on screen, I like her. I like her all the time. But definitely, if you're looking for watching her really act and use her acting skills, Lessons in Chemistry on Apple TV plus is the better choice. Okay, speaking of streaming stuff, I've come to appreciate a good documentary like Michael J.

Fox is still Mary Tyler Moore's being Mary Tyler Moore. I highly recommend both of those. But tell me about the new Albert Brooks documentary. Yeah, this is on HBO, premiering tomorrow, and it is you know, remember we got a couple of years ago Albert Brooks's brother, Bob Einstein, he died and they did a documentary on him, Super Dave of Osborne, Bob Einstein, really funny comedian. This seems to be like, Okay, we're gonna do this. We're not gonna wait until you die to do this.

We're gonna do this before you die and let people talk about you and give you all your accolades. And it's nice to see that. Rob Reiner directs, and it's a lot of conversations between the two of them, Albert Brooks and Rob Reiner. The two of them are lifelong friends, and you can definitely see their chemistry and camaraderie. And then you just got a ton of people talking about how great Albert Brooks is, not only as a movie star

and director in films like the documentary is called Defending My Life. One of the best movies. One of my favorite movies of all time is Defending Your Life, starring Albert Brooks and Meryl Streep. Do you think I need to go watch that again? Go watch it? It holds up. It's a

fantastic film. So they talk about that, you know, broadcast news and you know, all the movies and stuff, but also just his super unique brand of comedy which really put him on the map and was really influential to so many comedians today, which I think a lot of people you know of some younger people might not know, might not remember, but really was something

that was so singular. His comedy was really really funny and fantastic. One of my favorites of roles of his was when he played in Mother opposite Debbie Reynolds. Yeah. I think it was of a sleeper movie, but it was hysterically fantastic, and they go into that and the kind of the origins of that and how that was really based on his own mom and his relationship,

his relationship with us. If you haven't seen Mother, go see Defending Your Life and then go and find Mother somewhere because it and I think of my mother when I watch that. It is hysterical. Sure. Yeah, all right, Jason Nathans, and thanks so much. Our time together is always too short. I always have more questions to ask you, but we'll catch you next week next week, all right, Thanks so much.
