Hey, it's Jennifer Jones. Lee. You're listening to KFI, a M six forty wake up call on demand on the iHeartRadio app. Tuesdays aren't so bad when they start with Jennifer Jones Late. Here she is with your morning wake up call. Well, I'm gonna beg to differ with mister announcer guy this morning. Hey, Tyler, remember that one time that I was trying to go to work and I got delayed because my dog got her head stuck in a baby gate. How could I forget so this morning. We have

a routine in my house every day. The alarm goes off, the dogs know it's time to get up. I go out of the bedroom. We all like we're a little parade. Out of the bedroom into the kitchen, and everybody gets a dental treat. Right they brush their teeth in the morning. It's a routine. Everybody goes and brushes their teeth. Everybody's brushing their teeth. I then go back to the bathroom to brush my teeth and I hear this sound I have never heard before, and it's like a dog scream

of like not she's scared, but she's in some sort of pain. And then I hear Betty go crazy, and Betty's got one of those like woof woof kind of barks, and Daisy has some weird, little chirpy bark. So I know that it's Sophia who's in trouble, my Pomeranian chihuahua. So I dropped my tooth brush and I go running in there, and Sophia and the baby gate that keeps them out of the hall are now in the dining

room. Her head is stuck in the freaking baby gate, and she has run with the baby gate, which is probably four feet long, through the house, knocking stuff down as she's going. And now she's stuck over in the corner with the baby gate. And it's not one of those like just cheap pop metal gates, like it's a good baby gate. I'm like, oh, Mike, I what am I gonna do? And I don't really

have like what am I gonna do? Tools? I don't want have pipe cutters, so like Superman, and like, I don't know, is this where you go? Is this what moms? Maybe this is what you experience where all of a sudden you're like stronger than you knew you were. So I'm over there for a couple of minutes, pulling with my hands like trying to pull the bars of the freaking baby gate open. About four minutes later, after this struggle, now I'm sweating, Sophia is freaking out. The

other two are freaking out. Sophia finally gets her head out of the damn baby game. So when announcer Guy says Tuesdays aren't so bad with Jennifer Jones Lee, I beg to differ. Tuesdays can suck in the first five minutes of your day. The bottom line is she's fine. She's dumb, but she's fine, and she's out of the baby game. How's your morning going. That's what I thought, better than mine is what you're thinking. Here's

what we have, just a head on your wake up call. A union for La County Sheriff's Deputies is taking legal action against Sheriff Luna over his order for deputies to show their tattoos to the Inspector General. A new report claims sewage spills at beaches innoc are actually out of thirty five year low. And I'm gonna tell you why. I've got a bunny story in the news. Look at this, I've had a dog stuck in the baby gate an I

have a bunny story. She know. I'm deathly afraid of all coming up, and we're going to talk about the debt ceiling and some comments from President Biden. I'll give you in just a second. Let's start with some of these stories coming out of the KFI twenty four hour newsroom. A union for La County Sheriff's deputies is taking legal action against Sheriff Luna over his order for deputies to show their tats to the Inspector General. The union says it's concerned

the directive might violate its members constitutional rights. On May twelfth, the Inspector General sent emails to specific deputies instructing them to provide photos of tattoos associated with so called deputy gangs. The email also instructed deputies to tattle on others with similar tattoos. Sheriff Luna sent out an email supporting the effort and ordering deputies to comply. The union says there's a reasonable expectation of privacy and non visible

tattoos that are covered by clothing. Steve Gregory Kofy News LAPD Chief Moore says Mayor Bass's new budget includes a record investment in his department. Bass signed a new city budget last week that ludes enough money to hire seven hundred eighty new officers and bring back two hundred recently retired officers. I'm encouraged by Mirabas's continued

support in her officer's personal involvement. More recently told the Police Commission, you would like to reach the goal of nine thousand, five hundred four sworn officers by the end of next fiscal year. Karen Travers, good morning to you. So let's talk about now what I was just playing where President Biden was saying that he feels good about the debt ceiling deal that he negotiated with how Speaker McCarthy. But you don't have all lawmakers on board. No, and

you know they knew they weren't going to That was pretty much inevitable. This was not going to be an agreement that would get unanimous support. You have conservatives who say that the deal doesn't cut enough spending. You have progressives who don't like the fact that there are stricter work requirements. But as we heard from Kevin McCarthy over the weekend, it doesn't get everybody everything they wanted.

That's divided government. That's a message we were hearing from the White House last week as negotiations were continuing, that not everybody was going to get everything they want it, but that's the point of a negotiation, so sort of trying to lay the groundwork for the grumbling that was inevitable. But you know, the numbers game is important. Now you lose progressives on the left, you're

going to lose conservatives on the right. And this was meant to be an agreement that could pass with bipartisan support and get enough votes in the middle to get it across the finish line. The President is working the phones. He's talking to members of Congress and senior staff from the administration or briefing members of Congress, doing one on one phone calls as well, and Kevin McCarthy is

doing that too, to try and lock down votes. I think it isn't it also inevitable that this is going to pass, because who wants to be that one lawmaker who did not allow this to pass and then you have us

run out of cash to pay all of our bills. I feel like at some point everybody's going to have to acquiesce to the fact that this is, this is the negotiation for now, try again next time to pass pass whatever your agenda is right, And I think the thing is that it wouldn't be one lawmaker, their factions and that's what always makes things interesting, where you get the little cruise that say we as a block are not going to vote for this. So you know, keeping an eye on how those factions come

together. And we'll have a briefing today with the OMB director who was deeply involved leading the negotiations for the White House side of things, to see where they have a sense of where the numbers go. The traming is interesting. McCarthy says that they're going to vote on this tomorrow. The Senate, if it passes, would then take it up almost immediately, but maybe toward the end of the week. Chuck Schumer had warned members be prepared. You might

be in over the weekend. Yeah. Absolutely, all right, We'll keep an eye on it, see how it goes. Karen, thank you, have a great day. All right, thanks you too. ABC's Karen Travers. At this point, I'm not going to say mark my words, but mark my words, it will pass because you just can't. No, you're not going to get what you want, and yes you can, you know, dig your heels in as much as you want to in these different factions, as Karen was saying. But the bottom line is you have to pass

this so that we can pay our bills. So you're going to have to go along with it eventually. I know that these lawmakers are thinking, probably at this point, whatever they do as symbolic right, and it's just to appease their constituents. Like see, I stood up to them. I tried to fight for whatever they're fighting for. But in the end, you have

to go along with it. So I don't know. I always feel like after you do have some sort of negotiation and you have some sort of okay, fine, we can all swallow our side of the you know, crummy sandwich that we were eating just to push this thing through. That it'll get pushed through. But of course you have to have the outliers who just want to show that we tried to stand up for you. All right, fine, pass the bill, move on. Did you hear about Russia blaming Ukraine

now for several drone attacks that allegedly damaged buildings in Moscow. Russia called it a terrorist attack by the Kiev regime. Moscow's mayor says the attack caused minor damage to several buildings and prompted evacuations, though there were no casualties. We'll talk more with abcason as de la Kutera in just a few minutes. Nine people, including four kids, have been shot along a beach boardwalk in Hollywood, Florida. Police say two groups got in a fight yesterday and that's what

led to the shooting. People were seen on video running for cover. Officials had prepared for an increase in crowds because a Memorial Day. One person was taken into custody while officials looked for another person connected with the shooting. Police say some of the people hurt were kids well. A new report claims beach

clos caused by sewage spills INNOC are at a thirty five year low. THEOC Healthcare Agencies, Ocean, Harbor and Baywater report claims the county averaged one hundred eighty four sewage spills over the last three decades, but last year there were only eighty five. OC supervisor Katrina Fully says, plus the county only shut down beaches three times last year. We've been able to improve our pipes,

make sure that we remove roots and build up of grease. Fully says bacteria in the water can cause flu like symptoms and other illnesses for beach goers in Orange County. Corbin Carson k if I News, I would like to apologize in advance for the nature of the next two stories that I'm going to talk about. I don't know if anybody like me is afraid of bunnies. I have a bunny story and then a spider story, and I'm not talking about it. So Etsy Bitsy spider story. So here we go. Let me

creep you out. On a Tuesday morning, animal rights activists have protested the Buddy Cafe and Woodland Hills, claiming animal cruelty. Protesters say they want the rabbit pop up shut down, saying the animals aren't vaccinated, creating safety concerns for people and the other rabbits. Owner of the cafe, Kevin g says, the animals are vaccinated and the goal is to get them adopted. You also want to make sure they're going to a good home, but to not

just go to a home. We do have an adoption profits, you know, we do have an interviewed process. Protesters picketed outside the cafe yesterday, saying the rabbits are terrified. The owner says since its opening last month, the Bunny Cafe has rehomed eleven rabbits. Chris Adler KFI News. And then it's a not so it's bitsy spider spreading, but it appears to be more

the friendly neighborhood kind. Is there such a thing? A joro spider from East Asia has grown into a thriving population that's rapidly spreading across the United States. Scientists at the University of George Has say the colorful species, about the size of your palm, first popped up in Georgia around twenty fourteen. It has since spread through Southeast States and is expected to move as far north as

the coal climate allows. It's tiny things, weak venom, and very shy nature make it not much of a threat to humans, but their webs are strong, tough, and big, spanning many feet across. Scientists say it's a good thing the Joro spiders not much of a threat to humans because they're probably here to stay. Michael Crozier KFIN News. That's awesome. We have a colorful spider the size of your hand that you don't really have to worry about. It's not a threat to people. It's just going to scare the

crap out of you. Nobody wants to open their door and walk down the street and see a colorful spider the size of their hand walking along with them. No, thank you. I've got some hard hitting news for you coming up in bizbites in just a few minutes. But really, I do have some hard hitting news for you right now from venez de la Kutera. Ands, good morning to you, before we get into President Erdowan in Turkey his

rule. I know that I played a clip from you earlier about what happened with the drone attack on Moscow this morning, and you have now Russia calling it the Kiev regime that they were attacked by. So still no casualties out of this at all. Well, hey, good morning. Yeah, So Russian now calling that a tourist attack and they are blaming Kiev. This is

a We're talking about a drone attack that happened in Moscow Tuesday morning. No casualties for now, though Moscow's governor or may or rather is saying that there are a number of buildings that were damaged at least two drones were shot down. And this comes, you know, as I mentioned in that piece, after just you know, my feels of another drone attack in Moscow earlier this

month. So it was the drones that targeted to Kremlin at the time, and there were concerns about the president, Russian President Putin, who's actually not there when that attack happened. But um, no group for when it comes to this attack, no group has taken responsibility. When it comes to the attack on the Kremlin. US intelligence officials had said that that was linked to

Ukraine in this case. Yeah, no group is taking responsibility, but Russia is pointing the finger at Ukraine. Yeah, that's what I was going to say. And my I would almost think that if it was and I'm kind of assuming that it is, but that if it was Ukraine, that they would take responsibility for that, because you would think that they would want any

gains or any surprises that they were able to put upon Russia. They would probably want to claim that, wouldn't they wouldn't that be in their best interest? Yeah, I mean, so Ukraine, I mean it's interesting so that they haven't, you know. When then there were issues over the weekend also with um there were attacks in the Belligrad region of Russia, which is a region that borders Ukraine, and there were people who crossed over across the border.

And again so Russia says that with Ukrainians crossing over to carry out attacks in that region, Ukraine's argues it's kind of domestic, you know issues. It's it's Russians who are themselves taking up arms against their own regime. U The thing with Ukraine years they're not necessarily taking responsibility for all of these attacks, all of these uh, you know, developments, because they want to

get warplanes. I mean, I think part of the reason is they want to get warplanes from from the West, from the US, from other Western allies. And there is a concern that you know, we know President Biden has has spoken about how he wants assurances that these weapons and these planes are not going to be used to attack Russia. And so as we see things like this, you know, happening, it doesn't look good for Ukraine and it might then complicate Ukraine's efforts to try and get some of these weapons.

I see, Okay, thank you for straightening that out, because I thought, why wouldn't they want to but that makes perfect sense. And thank you by the way for letting me completely blindside you with that before we get into what's going on in Turkey. You're amazing. So let's talk about now five more years of er Dewan. What does this mean for Turkey, which is pivotal when it comes to what's going on in NATO. I mean, this is a country that we need to keep an eye on. Yeah, So

Turkish President Erdawan winning his reelection in a historic second round runoff election. He won fifty two point one person on the vote, his opponent one of forty seven, just overseet the forty seven percent of the vote, and no one is contesting the election. So I think that's the good news here. There's you know, it's being widely agreed that this has been a fair election, although his Erdwan's opponent is arguing that the campaign itself wasn't fair because Erdawan used

his power to kind of tip the scales in his favor. Excepting years of Erdwan, it'll be another five years of Erdwan at the very lease, and this is someone who has been kind of controlidating his grip here on Turkish society, turning increasingly authoritarian whereas his opponent had been promising a return to a more democratic society. So, um, it'll be interesting to see, Yeah, how this affects Turkey's relations with the West going forward. Yeah, And is

this a good for the United States at first? Blush or not? So it's interesting. I think with you know, thetront of the elections being so close, and with this Adawan's opponent, um, you know, gaining so much attraction. I think there was some hope in the US, in the West in general that this might mean if if he were to if Ridwan's opponent had one, that might have meant that there would have been a reset there

in terms of the relations between Turkey and the West. The fact that Aridawan remains in power, I think is um is probably not what they were hoping for. Erdawan has certainly so again, he's become more more and more authoritarian. He's someone who's been pushing for Islam to play a larger role within Turkish society. He's pushing for more conservative values and then when it comes, you know, to things like the war in Ukraine. He's someone who did not

impose sweeping sanctions on Russia. He's been reluctant to condemn a Russian president of Vladimir Putin. On the contrary, instead of imposing sanctions, he's ranked up trade with Russia. So things like that that are not in line with what the West is doing. Even though Turkey is a NATO ally. And speaking

of NATO, Turkey, of course we've talked about this before. Turkey was you know, the big block in terms of NATO's expansion when when Finland and Sweden were trying to join, it was Turkey that was holding up that process. So Turkey has been um, yeah, it's tough I think Turkey to deal with for a lot of Western leaders, and so there was a hope

that maybe with someone new in power that would break that relations. That's given that we're getting another five years of air to one, I think it's you know, it's it's it's going to continue to be tricky to say, yeah, that's a great word tricky. I like that. And as thank you and thanks again for let me just blindside you with the Russia questions. I appreciate it. Thank you, all right, see you later. Ab season as day La Kutera, she's smart, she's super smart. Like if I

ever went on who wants to be a millionaire? And I was trying to figure out who my phone and a friend was going to be. It might be her, because it's not often that somebody can be like, hey, so what's going on with Russia? By the way, can you fill me in on Turkey and how this might impact the West? Every night, I've

talked about this every night. So if you listen to wake Up Call, you know that every wake Up Call I have four opportunities to interview people, right, and it could be about anything from international topics like this one, to Biden in the budget, to later on this hour, I'm going to talk with Jim Ryan about workers using weed and how that's becoming a more prevalent

issue that companies are having to deal with in the US. So every night, as I've talked a lot about this, it's like cramming for a test, right, So all of a sudden at night, go in there and I'm like, okay, gosh, i gotta learn about what's going on in Turkey and how this is going to impact the United States. And oh wait, there's the NATO the facet of this conversation. Oh wait, And then there was a drone attack in Russia. So I feel like I cram for

four little tests every single night. But you have somebody like her who just rattles it off. Oh yeah, there was that time in Turkey that this happened. Oh yeah, and then in Russia, and this is how it impacted the West. Jesus smart cookie. A state Senate bill that would expand workers compensation coverage for first responders in California who have PTSD has been sent to the Assembly. It would extend an existing law that says PTSD qualifies as an

occupational illness. The extension would last until twenty thirty two. The provision is currently set to expire in twenty twenty five. A month's long review of the state university system finances shows CSU is coming up short. The review has revealed a fourteen percent gap between what Coln State spent on the twenty twenty one twenty two school year and what it costs to educate at students, pay salaries, and keep the twenty three campuses running. That's a one point five billion dollar

gap, the report says. Because the money's not there, staff positions remain vacant, and maintenance projects get put off. The report's recommended tuition hikes to fill the gap, although how much and when hasn't been decided. One option is a three percent increase each year for new students. Another would be a one time five percent increase. The review found those increases could boost revenue sixteen to twenty four percent by twenty thirty. Amy King kf I knew. We

do have an update on that apartment building in Iowa. Nine people have now been rescued from that building that collapsed in Davenport. Rescuers pulling a woman to safety last night, more than twenty four hours after a section of the building sheered away. ABC's Andrew Dimbert says at least two people are still missing. He says the building had been cleared for demolition yesterday, but that's been put

on hold as the search continues. And President Biden says he feels good about the Dutch ceiling and budget deal negotiated with House Speaker McCarthy, but not everybody's smiling. There are some hard right conservatives who say the deal does not cut spending enough. Liberals don't like the new work requirements for older Americans in the food aid program. The House Rules Committee is said to consider the package today, and the full House is expected to bring the vote tomorrow. Officials say

the US risks being in default next Monday. All right, I want to talk about these billionaires. There are thirty one billionaires who are worth more than the US Treasury has in cash. So I was reading the story last night in CNR on CNN Business and as of the clothes business. So as of cob on May twenty fifth, the Treasury had, I love this, just

thirty eight point eight billion dollars in cash. That is down for more than two hundred billion earlier this month, and that nears the bare minimum level of thirty million. You can't go below that. But for context, there are thirty one billionaires who are each worth more than the federal government's thirty eight point eight billion dollars that we had as of the close of business on May twenty fifth. And some of the names are exactly who you think they're going to

be. So it's the Elon Musk's one hundred eighty five billion, he's worth, Jeff Bezos one hundred forty four million. There is Bernard is it Arnault. I guess who is the chairman of the luxury goods maker LVMH. He has a net worth of one hundred ninety three billion. Good to be him. You've got Warren Buffett Zuckerberg. I love how they're like, well they have lower profiles on the list. Who freaking cares how high your profile is.

You still have more money than the US treasury. And yeah, just for context, we have people running around out there, one person who has more money than we have in our treasury. How does that make you feel? All right, some streaming services are removing tons of movies and shows and they say, oh, don't worry, it's not personal, it's just business.

So it looks like if they remove some of the content from their streaming platforms, it's a way for streamers to avoid residual payments and licensing fees. So some of these movies I guess cost quite a bit for them to actually put out there because of the licensing. So they say that the reason that they're not going to put some of these out there is it's too costly. So I guess if you look at that business model, should they put those

movies out there? You could argue, I guess from the company's aspect that that would cost too much money. And then you would have to then charge your subscribers to your streaming service more money. So I guess they're trying to say, like, hey, we're doing you a favor by making sure that these costs aren't out there before we would have to transfer them onto you. Although a lot of streamers are saying, excuse me, wait a minute, I subscribe to your company and I want X, Y and Z on there.

So are they Are they actually saving us from money that we might have to fork out later. Possibly? But I guess in the meantime, here's the other thing too, How do you know what you don't know? How do you know what they are not providing to us? Right? I don't know what the heck Paramount Plus has that Netflix doesn't have or Hulu doesn't have.

I'm not doing a spreadsheet at night of who gives me what? So I think honestly they're throwing that out there to make it look like they're doing us a favor, when really, if they had kept their mouth shut, we probably wouldn't have noticed. All Right, horrible story about Arby's and Tyler. I want to bring you in on this one because of the conversation we were having this one there is an Arby's employee who was found dead in a

freezer and had beat her hands bloody trying to escape. So they say that this woman, I guess was part of this Arby's location that had a faulty freezer door latch, and that the operators of this franchise, this particular Arby's, knew about the problem and neglected to fix it. And so anyway, there was a former employee at this location who said that the walk and freezer latch has been broken since August of last year, months before this woman even

started working there. And check this out. This employee who's part of this lawsuit says workers had to use a screwdriver to open and close the door and would keep it open with a box of oil. So you know how you'll like put something in the door to keep it open so you don't have to course whatever the lock is, the freezer I guess got to minus ten degrees if not hold her. And so this woman gets stuck in there and she's trying to get herself out, trying to get somebody's attention. I'm sure she

was probably beaten on the door and whatever got locked inside and died. Good I's gracious. Some people are going to say, well, why didn't she just use her phone, But this is where you and I had this conversation this morning. So workers don't have their phones at these restaurants. So this is actually becoming more common and the problem that restaurants face, and the only reason I know this is because I worked in the restaurant for thirteen years.

The problem that restaurants face is employees are becoming more and more dependent on their phones, and so the justification behind keeping your phone on you, you know, just in case of an emergency or what have you, comes into play. However, the challenge the restaurants are facing is that employees tend to take

their phones with them wherever they go, including the restrooms. And so if you think about it, once you're using the restroom, you have a tendency to pull your phone out, and then when you're done using the restroom, you have a tendency to pull your phone out, and then you wash your

hands, and then you pull your phone out. At no point in time is your phone ever being cleaned, right, And so by eliminating employees having their phones on them, you're essentially eliminating the possibility of contamination and Nora virus and what have you. That's actually a big reason why Chipotle ran into the problems they ran into a few years back was because these employees were using their

phones in and out of the restrooms. But you would it makes sense, So it makes sense that on one hand, of course, these companies aren't going to want people to have their phones because gross. On the other hand, I think, I mean, how can we say if this woman had been locked in there, would she've even had self service if she did have her phone on her I don't know, but that's a great that. It's just a great sidebar that I'd never even thought about why those employees don't have

their phones, But that makes sense. Well, And to take it a step further, the checks and balances, the verifications, the people checking you know, walk ins and coolers before they go home, the constant communication that employees should be having with each other, and environments like that. There are so many missed boxes that should have been checked before this woman even was trapped

in there for ten minutes. Well yeah, the fact that this thing has been broken since August twenty twenty two, I mean, this puts this company, this franchise I mean in like, oh, holy cow, that's a lawsuit, a sidebar story. I actually, when I was I don't even know twenty one, Nish got one of those walk in freezer latches just like this that they're talking about shut on my finger. Oh yeah, and I

have literally had a hole through my finger. So they took me to the like I don't know, the little uh dock in the box that was the closest thing or whatever, And now I have like a faulty finger. It doesn't bend after that. Those latches are freaking serious. Oh yeah, at the temperature it's supposed to be stored at. Yeah, and when they shut, if you're ring finger on your right hand happens to be there, it goes right through it. It's not fun and then you look like a weirdo

for the rest of your life. Just saying there's a union for the La County Sheriff's Deputies who are taking legal action against Sheriff Luna over his order that the deputies show their tattoos to the Inspector General. As part of this, you know, are their gangs within the La County Sheriff's arm But this story, oh Lee Cow, Jim Ryan I'm gonna bring you in on this just

because this is a story I know that you would know about. So the woman from Tennessee who is missing, who she and her boyfriend were on their way to. They said Orange County to visit family. So it was Nicki

Alcarez, her boyfriend, Tyler Stratton, and the dog. Now there's a report coming out of Nashville this morning that Nikki Alcarez was possibly spotted with my people, which is very weird in Reading, so way up north on Saturday, and I guess they're like verifying that she was in this walmart, which is really weird because I was in this walmart a week ago, which creeps me out. And yeah, because I was up visiting my family up there.

Anyway, there's one Walmart in Reading she apparently was there. I guess that so she there was a picture. There is a picture of her where she is selling her phone at one of those eco ATMs, you know, where you put your phone in and you get money back for it is that

this story is getting more and more bizarre. But if this is the case, there is a picture of her alive May twenty seventh, which is remarkable, So that may change the whole complexion of that story, you know, and they're searching between Tennessee and across Arkansas into Texas and then across the west out to California. So is I think this is go ahead? Yeah, where that's one of those mysteries like yeah, like we saw last year when

the couple went missing or the woman was missing in Utah. So it's a crazy story. Well yeah, and this is I think everybody was like, oh man, this is Gabby Petito two point zero. This is you know it's going to be I think we all went into the Lifetime movie assumption, Holy cow, she's dead and maybe the boyfriend had something to do with it. When now you see this picture of her and you're like, hold on a second. I don't know if this is the case anymore. So we'll

follow up on this story, but it's wild. So Jim, good morning to you. And that last dance with Mary Jane talking about weed in the workplace, and I don't know how companies deal with this, especially in states where weed is legal. Well, a lot of them are dropping their they're drug testing altogether, at least in the application process. They might still test people once the job is secured. But yeah, that's that's kind of been

the reaction. If you look at this Quest Diagnostics, everybody's heard of that company because so many of us have had drug tests either as a part of employment or the doctor might send you there to have some diagnostic test done. Well, so they did six million general workforce urine tests last year. They found that four point three percent of the people in the workplace had were positive

for cannabis. That's almost half a percent from the year before. And if you look at the incidents of people who are either hurt or involved in accidents at the workplace, QUEST found that seven point three percent of them had tested positive from erione. That's way up from the year before as well. It's the highest positivity written about twenty five years. So I think you're right.

In states where recreational marijuana is legal, their companies are wrestling with the idea of just dropping that requirement because something you did on Saturday could show open a drug test that you take next Tuesday when you're completely clearheaded, right, And isn't it that like signs of pot or pot stays in your system for like thirty days or something like that, So it would it would I mean That almost seems unfair to a person who maybe smoked spot in I don't even know

whatever, they smoked pot in April, and then they applied for a job and they got it, but they had to take the drug test. So something they did in April when they weren't even affiliated with whatever this you know company, is that they're trying to get a job at that it seems unfair that they would be penalized for something they did before they even applied to be part of this company. Well, a lot of a lot of cases they're

not being penalized. The staffing company called Manpower Group, it did its own survey and found that about nine percent of employers are doing away with their drug testing during the application process. Part of it, the reason is that they're so short staffed, right they need to get people on board and so dropping that the drug testing requirement may get more people to apply for and actually land

those jobs. Gender But it also depends on the company. Amazon is probably the biggest company that's doing away with its drug testing in the application But is that all the jobs. Absolutely not. If you're driving one of those big blue Amazon drugs, you will be tested before you go to work. There and you'll be tested randomly throughout your time of employment, and if you're COD,

you will lose that job. So it really depends upon the job description, depends on the company, and depends upon the state where the company sits. Right, Because if the you know, Amazon guy who literally shows up every single day at my house and I don't know his name, but I should when that guy, I feel like, okay, it would be different

for that guy. No, that guy maybe shouldn't be smoking weed. Or if it's somebody on an Amazon assembly line where they could be injured, Okay, I don't want them to have you know, alcohol or weed or anything. You want them to be as clear headed as possible for their own safety.

But in California, that's that's what you're I mean, you're pointing out something perfectly of If it's legal here and it's sitting in your system, but you haven't done it and you're completely clear headed, then should that Amazon driver be penalized when he technically hasn't done anything wrong? Yeah? Well, and

it opens up a whole new legal Pandora's box. Right, because if somebody shows up at work and there they test positive, they're given a job anyway and they get hurt or they hurt somebody else, you know, their company is facing some legal challenges there. Or on the opposite, if you are denied a job because you smoked weed in a state where its legal for a job that doesn't require physical dexterity or something, could you face the lawsuit there?

Absolutely? All right, Jim, thank you so much. I appreciate it. The ABC's Jim Ryan. I think that's a great question. That is a talk show topic and a half as is this. It is national Jennifer Day. May twenty eighth was National Burger Day. So what do you think was the top condiment? And this is based on door Dash's grocery orders. It's close, It's very close. The number one condiment four ketchup earth Well, I just gave it. Oh no, four burgers is catchup?

I suck. But coming in and I mean coming in in a close like this is a you know, picture nose of the horse over the line kind of thing. Wait, can I guess? Yeah? Thousand Island? No, but oh that's my favorite. Like the spread? Yeah, I guess Ranch? No, okay, though I get one more? Okay, one more? Maynnaise? It is mayonnaise, because together, that's what I was

gonna say, A thousand, you get a thousand. But can I just tell you guys that if you ever take your you're in and out burger that has the spread on it and then you dip it in ranch, oh hallelu yeah Jen, Okay, I don't know about that. No, no, it's no empty you want some in and out with your sauce. Oh wow, yeah, that's just cruel coming in at number three. Can you guys it's not ranch, it's not thousand, It is mustard, mustard, mustard, yeah yeah, and so I guess you like mustard. Just playing all

mustard on your burger? Oh yellow mustard? Oh yeah yeah. For me up on a burger, it might as well be catch up on a hot dog for me, Nicholas. Wow, I am a I'm a plain girl. If you gave me like a cheese burger with nothing on it, I think that's one of the best ways to eat a burger. So this is the one place in life you're a plaine like literally as milk white like milk toast as you can be. Oh well, no, I would. I

would have to say. My brother and I also are very milk toast, and we both like whitecake, white frosting with vanilla ice cream for our birthdays. And we want that really crappy sugary frosting where it's like gritty. Oh, I'd love the frosting rapp frost cake. I knows we're good. Okay, So if you everybody birthday, yeah yeah? Are you? You're a sheetcake girl, aren't you? Oh God, I need you to go to costco ye. I need you to get that quarter like whatever. The quarter

sheet cake is whitecake, white frosting with white frosting in the middle. Give it to me with a fork. Vanilla I will just sit there. Vanilla okay, and vanilla ice cream okay, vanilla bean or straight vanilla straight tan. I don't even understand how you Oh you spray tan, that's how you. You're just describing like the most white white, white white white Okay, yeah yeah, like oh no, I spray tan all day long. There's

no shame of my spray tan game. But that's it. I'm how in the hell did Okay, you guys know way too much about me now, and nobody's gonna new.
