Episode description

This week, Karrie uses the apostle Paul’s story to address the role of storms in the lives of Jesus followers. In Acts 27, Paul finds himself in the midst of a serious storm as he travels as a prisoner to Rome to plead his case for release. Despite his circumstances, Paul was faithful to God, who had assured Paul that all those on board the ship would survive. Sure enough, everyone reached land safely. Paul’s attitude exemplifies how we too are to handle the storms that disrupt our lives. While we may be tempted to “jump ship” when things are bad, we are to stay “on board” with God’s plan. It is only in the storms that we can be transformed and really experience Jesus. Of course, this requires surrender on our part, but this surrender leads to a greater freedom in the end. God’s promise to us was not that we’d be storm free, but rather that He will be there with us and for us during the storm. Would love to see your comments and thoughts below!
