In the first episode of Season 2, Voices of E-learning host JW Marshall welcomes co-host Leena Saleh who is joining the show for 2022. A former teacher, recent addition to the Canva team, and creator of educational content, Saleh is heralded as an EdTech guru by Marshall.

Having delivered 85 impactful episodes in its first season during a global pandemic, Marshall noted that both he and Saleh will be expanding on the podcasts success by bringing back some 1st season favorites as well as many new guests. The goal – expand the podcast to include new topics, a guest pool that includes teachers and school administrators, and facilitate greater engagement with the audience.

Season 2 will focus on what is throughout 2022 from what is current and tangible while looking ahead to the summer and fall. EdTech will be a regular topic featuring companies and technology posed to positively disrupt education. The mass exodus of teachers during the pandemic and its impact on education will also be explored. Another significant topic that will be explored is how the trends that began in 2020 and 2021 are expanding into 2022 and what new trends are emerging.

Saleh opened the discussion, “So, let's talk about some of the trends we're going to see in 2022. So, some things that we saw in 2020 and 2021 was kind of a movement towards more e-learning and what e-learning looks like. I think in 2022, we’re going to see some of those e-learning trends really start to dial down and what that’s going to mean for educators, what that means for admin, and what that looks for all the voices of e-learning.”

Marshall concurred, “Yeah, and I think on that note we’re going to see that less is more, that we’re going to see a lot of districts and schools pair back some of their e-learning to really focus in on those programs and technologies that are making the biggest impact. An, really investing more heavily with more singular focus.”

This is just the beginning of an insightful conversation that opens what is certain to be a fantastic season exploring the state of education in 2022.
