LESSON 347
Anger Must Come From Judgment.
Judgment Is The Weapon I Would Use Against Myself,
To Keep The Miracle Away From Me.

Father, I want what goes against my will, and do not want what is my will to have. Straighten my mind, my Father. It is sick. But You have offered freedom, and I choose to claim Your gift today. And so I give all judgment to the One You gave to me to judge for me. He sees what I behold, and yet He knows the truth. He looks on pain, and yet He understands it is not real, and in His understanding it is healed. He gives the miracles my dreams would hide from my awareness. Let Him judge today. I do not know my will, but He is sure it is Your Own. And He will speak for me, and call Your miracles to come to me.Listen today. Be very still, and hear the gentle Voice for God assuring you that He has judged you as the Son He loves.

Speaker 3

That I didn't you the.

Speaker 4

Appointed time, which is nine o'clock in the US Central time. I am currently in Spain, and I was absolutely.

Speaker 5

Sure that I had it all figured out what time I was going to do it, and for some unexplicable reason, the time passed by, and it's now five thirty in the afternoon.

Speaker 3

Here.

Speaker 4

You will, amiable. If you're not listening now, you will be able to catch this class hopefully later. I'm a speaker. If you're still interested day, if the lesson of the day, you would normally read this lesson at the beginning of the day, and so I trust everybody did so. But yet we're going to involve ourselves in this class with a lesson three forty seven, which is a great it's an incredible lesson, actually, And the more we engage ourselves

in this theme what is the miracle? What is a miracle? The more we actually begin to appreciate, at least this is what happens with me. The more I begin to appreciate the value of the miracle and what becomes what becomes a real what becomes a real experience is the certainty that is expressed in less than ninety one miracles are seen in light that the miracle is going all all the time, and that the only thing the problem is your only problem would be that you are not

aware of it. It doesn't your awareness is not necessary for it to be available, nor is your denial of the occurrence a reason for the miracle not to be present. It is going on all the time, and it's only your We're only concerning ourselves with actually in this course of miracles, to yeah to wipe away or to to express the intention that are our defenses against the miracle, from against the happening miracle from happening to be wiped away for us. And so this is part of the

lesson of the day. So what we'll start doing will read the as we as we do, we will read what is a miracle? And welcome everyone. And again I'm sorry that I was not there at the point in time, but hey, time is going on all the time, so if you'll catch it, you'll catch it. Here is the entire What is a miracle theme. A miracle is a correction. It does not create nor really change at all. It merely looks on devastation and reminds the mind that what

it sees is false. It undoes error, but does not attempt to go beyond perception nor exceed the function of forgiveness. Thus it stays within time's limits. Yet it paves the way for the return of timelessness and loves awakening, for fear must slip away, slip away under the gentle remedy it brings. A miracle contains the gift of grace, for it is given and received as one, and thus it illustrates the law of truth. The world does not obey

because it fails entirely to understand its ways. A miracle inverts perception, which was upside down before, and thus it ends the strange distortions that were manifest. Nower's perception open to the truth. Now is forgiveness seen as justified. So forgiveness is actually seen as justified as the miracle. As the miracle occurs, there in fact simultaneous occurrences. You could say forgiveness is the home of miracles. The eyes of Christ deliver them to all they look upon in mercy

and in love. Perception stands corrected in his sight, and what was made was meant to curse has come to bless Each lily or forgiveness offers all the world the silent miracle of love, and each is laid before the Word of God upon the universal altar to Creator and creation in the light of perfect purity and endless joy. The miracle is taken first on faith, because to ask for it implies the mind has been made ready to conceive or what it cannot see and does not understand.

Yet faith will bring its witnesses to show that what it rested on is really there, and thus the miracle will justify your faith in it and show it rested on a world more real than what you saw before, a world redeemed from what you thought was there. Miracles fall like drops of healing rain from heaven on a dry and dusty world where starved and thirsty creatures come to die. Now they have water. Now the world is green, and everywhere the signs of life spring up to show

that what is born can never die. For what has life has immortality, and what has life has immortality because there is only one life, and that I share with God, and I love the more I read this, the more we can love this. This, yeah, this centerpiece you could say, of course, in miracles, because it really addresses the question

what is a miracle. And one of the things that occurred to me this morning when I was reading this one sentence and each is each lily, a forgiveness is laid before the Word of God brought me back to the idea of John One where it says in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,

and the Word was God. It is it is really that intent, that that the Word is God, and that the further we go back to that certainty, the more the closer we come to the actually, yeah, to recognizing the validity if I can use that word of forgiveness, the justification of forgiveness, of forgiveness being fully justified on the basis of what we are, and that actually that is that is as close as we can get to recognizing the Word of God as God as what we are.

Whereas we begin to fail quite quickly here. Okay, so the lesson of the day then is less than three forty seven. Anger must come from judgment. Judgment is the weapon I would use against myself to keep the miracle away from me. Wow, that's amazing. Judgment is the weapon and I would use against myself to keep the miracle away from me. It's not that the miracle is not there.

It is still there. It is always there. And so in the first thing you could say, just from reading this the lesson title itself, that you would recognize that by giving up judgment, the miracle becomes available to you, and that your anger is any anger, that your experience is actually an indication that you have judged and are keeping the miracle that is available to you away from you.

And as you begin to see with lesser number ninety one that the miracle is going on is always there, then you can see that there is really no necessity for that, that you just made a mistake in keeping the miracle outside yourself. The occurrence of the miracle is really not an accident or a coincidence or whatever.

Speaker 3

It is.

Speaker 4

There if you intend to see it. Father, I want what goes against my will, and do not want what is my will to have is the premise on which you could say, of course, in miracles is built that you could say, well, I want miracles and I love miracles. But really the truth of it is you. In this situation in which you find yourself in a judgmental association with everything around you, everything that you think you see, you are actually actively choosing against your own will and

do not want what is your will to have. And this is why forgiveness is giving you here. This is why we are talking about the miracle as a correction. Straighten my mind. My father, it is sick, but you have offered freedom, and I choose to claim your gift today, and so I give all judgment to the one you gave to me to judge for me. He sees what I behold, and yet he knows the truth. He looks on pain, and yet he understands it is not real, and in his understanding it is healed. He gives the

miracles my dreams would hide from my awareness. Let him judge to day. I do not know my will, but he is sure it is your own, and he will speak for me and call your miracles to come to me. Listen today, be very still, and hear the gentle voice for God assuring you that he has judged you as the son he loves. And so this is where where you may become very active in offering all your judgments to the Holy Spirit and in fact offer everything you

see or you think you see lesser number one. Nothing I see means anything I've judged in amiss according to less than number three. It's your judgment that has given it the meaning that you think it has, and it is really not what it is. Actually, those are all the things that you do not want and not in yeah, in truth what you do not want, but you have to acknowledge for one second that it's actually what you

want and that it goes against your will. And in that sense is this course in miracle is a very practical course. It is not trying to find a solution for your problem, because the problems that you think you have really have no solution. So like, Okay, I have a problem, I need of need of parking space, or I have cancer, Please I need a miracle to to solve this for me, is not what this course of

miracles is offering. It is really the the removal of the black the blocks to the awareness of Love's presence, where the things that you are concerned about are really not of any concern. And this is what this course of miracles is offering you. This is what the mind training is offering you. This is what the practical application of this of these lessons offers you. That that your mind begins to get become adjusted to.

Speaker 3

UH.

Speaker 4

And this will this is what you will see in the beginning of of course of Course in Miracles, if you care to look that you get a custom to performing miracles, and that miracle, the miracle is actually going on all around you, if you just step out of the way and allow forgiveness to wrestle on all things.

Is the lesson will will prescribe. I will will take a little break just to to consider this lesson for a minute, and then I would like to come back and read from the text of Course in Miracles lesson in chapter three where it says judgment and the authority and the authority problem, which is obviously actually what this is also pointing to. And I'm just going to be curious to see how this feeds into this lesson. Let's just have one song and then then I'll come be

right back with that. Let's see what we have here. That was not what I was looking for. I was looking for another so it's heaven is calling you.

Speaker 1

Speaker 3

Song me.

Speaker 4

Jane, Okay, thank you so much, Mitch. It's a wonderful song. So, as I said, on this day where the lesson is uh uh anger comes from judgment, and this is you know, this is how you keep the miracle away from you. Let's read from chapter three, the sixth section, Judgment and the authority problem. Let's see how far we get with this. If that's his, if this is is okay with everyone. We have already discussed the last judgment, but insufficient detail.

But in insufficient detail, after the last judgment, there will be no more. Judgment is symbolic because judgment is symbolic because perception. Beyond perception, there is no judgment. Wow symbolic

because beyond perception there is no judgment. Judgment is the realm of symbols, and this is what you are aware of in the world you see, and beyond perception there is no judgment and therefore no symbolic when the people, when the Bible says judge not that you be not judged, it means that if you judge the reality of others, will you will be unable to avoid? Sorry, sorry for that. When the Bible says judge not that you be not judged, it means that if you judge the reality of others,

you will be unable Sorry. It means that if you judge the reality of others, you will be unable to avoid judging your own. So it is it is actually having that effect effect Immediately you will you will also be judging your own reality, and you will be judging it in as it is not, and it is a wilful act of self deception. That is, it is important to recognize that. So that's the only purpose you would you could is there actually the only purpose that judgment?

Then han has the choice to judge rather than to know. Is the cause of the loss of peace. Judgment is the process on which perception, but not knowledge, rests. I have thus discussed this before in terms of the selectivity of perception, pointing out that evaluation is its obvious prerequisite evaluation, which is what judgment is. Judgment always involves rejection. It never emphasizes only the positive aspects of what is judged,

whether in you or in others. What has been perceived and rejected or judged and found wanting remains in your mind because it has been perceived. One of the illusions from which you suffer is the belief that what you judged against has no effect. This cannot be true unless you also believe that what you judged against does not exist. You evidently do not believe this, or you would not have judged against it. In the end, this is really cool.

Is a really cool reasoning. I'll read this again. One of the illusions from which you suffer is the belief that what you judged against has no effects. This cannot be true unless you also believe that what you judged against does not exist. You evidently do not believe this, that it does not exist, or you would not have judged against it. In the end, it does not matter whether your judgment is right or wrong. Either way, you

are placing your belief in the unreal. This cannot be avoided in any type of judgment because it implies the belief that reality is yours to select from. Wow, and reality is obviously the realm of you could say beyond the miracle, because the miracle is actually clearing that up if you allow the Holy Spirit to to to demonstrate or to show you, because vision will will make miracles apparent to you and make your reality a parent to you.

You have no idea of the tremendous release and deep peace that comes from meeting yourself and your brother's totally without judgment. Wow. What an incredible offering that this is. This is This is not debatable as it is stated, is stated as a as a fact that the piece that you're actually looking for is from that. And what is wonderful about the lesson of the day is that your anger is when it's when it's apparent. You now know with lesson three forty seven that anger comes from judgment.

You have judged, and you have judged, and this is the result. You're angry and you don't understand why you give it all sorts of reasons. You're never You're never upset for the reason that you think so, you're you're looking at something that is not there. And this is why you're upset. When you recognize what you are and what your brothers are, you will realize that judging them in any ways without meaning. And it's not that you are not allowed to judge. It is not that you

should not judge. That's what Jesus says in the in the Teacher's Manual. It's not that you shouldn't be judging. It's not we're not judging you for judging. It is actually is why would you want to do it? If it has this effect? And if and it and what he is saying giving you as a fact that he's demonstrating to you that judging has no meaning. So then the question becomes why would you? You can? But why

would you It is the course of your difficulty. In fact, their meaning is lost to you precisely because the meaning of your brothers is lost to you, precisely because you are judging them all uncertainly. Uncertainty comes from the belief that you are under the coercion of judgment. You have no choice in the matter. You do not need judgment to organize your life, and you certainly do not need

it to organize yourself. In the presence of knowledge, all judgment is automatically suspended, and this is the process that enables recognition to replace perception. I'll read it again. You do not need judgment to organize your life, and you certainly do not need it to organize yourself. In the presence of knowledge, All judgment is automatically suspended, and this is the process that enables recognition to replace perception. You are very fearful of everything you perceive but have refused

to accept. You believe that because you have refused to accept it, you have lost control over it. Well, I'll read it again. You are very fearful of everything you perceive but have refused. You perceive but have refused to accept. You believe that because you have refused to accept it, you have lost control over it. This is why you're fearful, and this is why you see it in nightmares or in pleasant disguises, in what seemed to be your happier dreams.

Nothing that you have refused to accept can be brought into awareness. It is not dangerous in itself, but you have made it seem dangerous to you. So we're beginning to see what he means. By you stop judging, then everything is allowed in to your awareness, and you will begin to recognize that you don't there's no reason for you to be afraid of anything. When you feel tired, it is because here, here another demonstration, here's something else that you can You can say, I'm tired, so he

this is reason why. It is because you have judged yourself as capable of being tired. When you laugh at someone, it is because you have judged him as unworthy. And when you laugh at yourself, you must laugh at others, if only because you cannot tolerate the idea of being more unworthy than they are. Wow, these are all things that you are very well aware that you're doing him as you interact with your brothers. All this makes you

feel tired because it is essentially disheartening. You are not really capable of being tired, but you are very capable of wearing yourself. The strain of constant judgment is virtually intolerable. See this is also a way in which you judge by laughing at others, Laughing at yourself. You're judging yourself. It is very tiring. The strain of constant judgment is virtually intolerable. It is curious that an ability so debilitating

would be so deeply cherished. Yet, if you wish to be the author of reality, you will insist on holding on to judgment. And this is why we are reading this. This is the authority problem that you have. You want to be the author, you want to be in control of reality. You will also regard judgment with fear, believing that it will someday be used against you. This belief can exist only to the extent that you believe in the efficacy of judgment as a weapon of defense for

your own authority. Again, this belief can exist only to the extent that you believe in the efficacy efficacy of judgment as a weapon of defense for your own authority, which it would have to be. God offers only mercy. Your words should reflect only mercy. Wow, you are as God created you. This is you are as He is. And this is why this is the uh the direction.

Not because that is what you were ordered to do, it's what you would you you would be advised to do if you are as God created you, because that is what you have received, mercy, and that is what you should give. Justice. What a wonderful lesson here, justice is a temporary expedient or an attempt to teach you the meaning of mercy. It is judgmental only because you are capable of injustice. I've spoken of different symptoms, and

at that level there is almost endless, endless variation. There is, however, only one cause for all of them, the authority problem. Wow, symptoms and the authority problem are almost are almost synonymous. You could say this is the root of all evil. Every symptom the ego makes involves a contradiction in terms, because the mind is split between the ego and the Holy Spirit, so that whatever the ego makes is incomplete

and contradictory. This untenable position is the result of the authority problem, which, because it accepts the one inconceivable thought as its premise, can produce only ideas that are inconceivable. The issue of authority is a question of authorship, cool authorship. Who is the creator? Who is the creator of my reality? When you have an authority problem, it is always because you believe you are the author of yourself and project

your delusion onto others. You then perceive the situation as one in which others are literally fighting you for your authorship. This is cool, this says. If I never read this, this is the fundamental error. Just a few more paragraphs, with your permission. This is the fundamental error of all those who believe that have usurped the power of God. This belief is very frightening to them, but hardly troubles God.

He is, however, eager to undo it, not to punish its children, but only because he knows that it makes them unhappy. God's creations are given their true authorship, but you prefer to be an anonymous when you choose. You choose to separate yourself from your author, being uncertain of your true authorship. As you are created by God, you believe that your creation was anonymous. This leaves you in a position where it sounds meaningful to believe that you

created yourself. You believe that your creation was anonymous. This leaves you in a position where it sounds meaningful that you believe you created yourself. Interesting this, the dispute over authorship, has left such uncertainty in your mind that it may even doubt whether you really exist. At all. Okay, two more paragraphs only those or three more paragraphs. Only those who give over all desire to reject can know that their own rejection is possible. It's impossible. The word rejection,

rejection of your brother, rejection of anything. It's the opposite of the word acceptance that we read just a minute ago. It's like, if you accept everything as it is, then there is no judgment, and if you reject, you begin to accept yourself. If you reject your reject yourself, you have not usurped the power of God, but you have lost it. Cool. Fortunately, to lose something does not mean that it has gone. It merely means that you do

not remember where it is. Its existence does not depend on your ability to identify it or even to place it. It is possible to look on reality without judgment and merely know that it is there. Wow. What an amazing

This is the faith that comes with miracles. Somewhere you begin to trust that the Holy Spirit is actually seeing for you, and is seeing for is seeing what is true, and that you're in safe hands, and that you can allow you can allow to give over everything without the fear of losing anything, because loss is impossible peace is a natural heritage of spirit. Everyone is free to refuse to accept his inheritance, but he is not free to establish what his inheritance is. So peace is your peace

has been saved for you. It cannot be lost. It is just waiting for you to accept it. But it is the peace of God. It's not something else. It's not a peace that you have devised for yourself. The problem everyone must decide is the fundamental question of authorship. All fear comes ultimately, and sometimes by way of very devious routes, from the denial of authorship. The offense is never to God, but only to those who deny him. To deny his authorship is to deny yourself the reason

for your peace. So that you see yourself only in segments, This strange perception is the authority problem. This strange perception is the authority problem. So seeing yourself in segments as separated from everything is actually a demonstration of how how absolutely determined you are to be your own author and that it's actually a demonstration of the authority problem. It's not. It's the same as saying that. It's like he would say, Okay, it's arrogant to say that I'm the cause of what

I see. No, it is arrogant to say that you're not that, and that you're at the mercy of everything that's happening around you, and that everything is happening for a reason or whatever, that you don't know about all that stuff. Thank you God for this. There is no one who does not feel that he is imprisoned in some way. If this is the result of his own free will, he must regard his will as not free, or the circular reasoning in reasoning in this position would

be quite apparent. Free will must lead to freedom. Judgment always imprisons because it separates segments of reality by the unstable scales of desire. Wishes are not facts. To wish is to imply that willing is not sufficient. Yet no one in his right mind believes that what is wished is as real as what is willed. Instead of SEEKI first the Kingdom of heaven, say will ye first the kingdom of heaven? And you have said, I know what I am, and I accept my own inheritance. Wow, what

an incredible lesson. And I'm grateful that I'm that I that I that I did not forget to do this class Finally I remembered. And this is what is occurring with you now, you're remembering that you're you may have forgotten about your your inheritance, but it is not lost. It's not it's you've lost the power. What did you say? You lost the power, But that power is not lost. You can still remember. And this is what a cursing miracles teaching. This is what a course of miracles is

teaching us all the time. If you forget, just remember again, and you you're back there. The miracle is always going on. Reality is always available to you. All right. This was the lesson of the day, My lesson of the day, lesson three forty seven. I'll repeat the Let me see this anger must come from judgment. Judgment is the weapon I would use against myself to keep the miracle away from me. Father, I want what goes against my will, and do not want what is my will to have

straighten my mind. My father, it is sick, But you have offered freedom, and I choose to claim your gift to day, and so I give all judgment to the one you gave to me to judge for me. He sees what I behold, and yet he knows the truth. He looks on pain, and yet he understands it is not real. And in his understanding is it healed. He gives the miracles my dreams would hide from my awareness.

Let him judge to day. I do not know my will, for he is sure it is your own, and he will speak for me and call your miracles to come to me. Listen to day, be very still and hear the gentle voice for God shuring you that He has judged you as the son he loves. I love you all very much, and I thank you for your patience and bearing with me to day. And I wish you were a wonderful, wonderful day With this lesson, you.
