Episode description

Pastor Emmanuel Akognon answers questions submitted by members in the monthly Question and Answer Sunday. Questions from members: 1. In light of the new movie Selma I have reflected on some personal times of when I was affected by racism . Recently you spoke of there being one race and that is the human race. What are some of the best methods for confronting racism especially given light of recent racially charged incidents: such as the six White teenage girls in North Carolina who posted a picture to Instagram with white hats and white shirts similar to the outfits worn by the Klu Klux Klan members; or the White suspect in Colorado seen in the vicinity of a NAACP office after an explosive was detonated. 2. In the book of Proverbs 22:6 it says, "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." What does it say about a child who demonstrates disrespect toward others? Should a child's rudeness be attributed to parenting? Questions from the Pastor to the congregation: 1. When is a person considered a "good member" of a local church? 2. Can you name and briefly explain the use of at least 5 tools for deep Bible Study? 3. Why does a loving God allow bad things to happen to people?
