You are listening to Video Games to the Max. Hello, and welcome to another edition of Video Games to the Max. This is episode three hundred and ninety six, and here with me as usual, mister mac Morrison, I'm your host, Seana Garmer, and here we are for another episode. This is like a quieter week, but people are kind of just catching up on all the the games that have been releasing, so, you know, including Mark who's now he's now played star Blade, so we're gonna get marks thoughts

on sother Blade here. I haven't been able to play that much this week. The last week, my grandma's going to be here. She's going off to Arkansas. I don't know if she's gonna come back or not. But we've been busy kind of just getting all the stuff ready for that, and you know, started going to the gym again, so that takes up time too. So probably next week I'll be able to get back into like a rhythm of playing and have more time. So but thankfully Mark's been playing it,

so we'll get to talk about that. We'll talk about the ID at Xbox Showcase thing as well, the Big Lass at Square Enix and what that might mean for the company going forward and some of your favorite games, the shocking closures that Take two that I don't think anybody expected. It's specially considering that they you know, the the games that they have in those those studios there. So aside from that, we're gonna go ahead and talk about all

that anymore. All right, So let's go ahead and get this out of the way here. Do some do the housekeeping. So if this is your first time listening or a hundred time lists, we do appreciate you. We do this live around this sound like twelve thirty one o'clock on Fridays, unless you know, we have to do another day, but we try to make it on Fridays at least. And yeah, you can watch live on YouTube, Twitch, the Facebook, all that stuff, Twitter, W two network

on my Twitter, or you can listen later on podcasts as well. So if you like just listening on your podcast whenever, it'll be on the feed a little bit later than on YouTube, but it should show there pretty quickly, and then it'll be on the Man on the YouTube channel, which if you subscribe there, you know, hit like follow all that stuff. You can then get the other stuff that we do, like the Ralatire Broadcasting folks

that do all of the entertainment stuff. So if you're big into like the latest movies, keeping up with those, they do that latest TV show. So they did their own fallout show review over there they have. They just did the Ministry of a Gentlemen tality Warfare and then of course it got tied the KK. It does like the latest anime that so if you like keeping up with like the new anime that comes out every season, they're your ticket

for that as well. Or you can just go subscribe to each one individually on podcasts. Just look for the shows there and do that. So that's gonna do it for the housekeeping. Let's go ahead, I guess, and get into ogrim playing, which is really just smart. But you got to plaice other blade. Now, yep, what do you think? It's pretty good? I think the starting area goes on for too long, or they should get you into the city quicker, because yeah, it's like five hours.

Yeah, let's move this along a little. But it's really good. Did you ever see a movie Battle Angel or that? Yeah? I love that movie. Yeah, that's about as close as we're gonna get a sequel in this thing. I think. James Cameron said he actually does want to make a sequel. I don't know if it's gonna happen or not, but

he he said he wanted to says a lot of things. So yeah, but I just unlocked, like I basically did the first area and then the second area, the like desert, so now I have to hit the third area, but like I'm locked, like the double jump, which is helpful, and then get a different role where I can do like a different like a double roll, which is good. Uh the double jump twirl thing that she does. Yeah, uh, I wish there was more. You even't

got into it yet, I don't think. But there's a pretty bad stealth section that I just did, where like you don't have access to your blade, so you just have to use your gun. Oh that's the rest the survival horror type sections. Yeah, yeah, that's not fun. You don't

like those. I mean it was easy enough, I guess, but it's just like this is this is weird, Like and there's actually one part or I kept dying because you're like locked in a like a laser cage or like a laser arena, and I kept accidentally like one hit on the laser and you're dead. And I kept accidentally dodging into that because you know, I'm

trying to avoid enemy attacks. But yep, I actually like I'm at a pointing out where I have like too many skill points, like I haven't I'm not doing on the menu or you know, the skill of the skill tree. But it's like I don't care about the rush attack at all, so I don't dump points into it because it's like, well, I don't use it, yeah, so who cares, you know. But I have actually there's like two hit like locked trees, and I'm like, can these open

up? Because I have like eighteen skill points that are just kind of sitting here, you know. Yeah, I think you have to like just kind of unlock, you know, because it's all based on the skill tree. You have to unlock stuff even if you don't want to necessarily. No, No, I'm not like to like locked like big trees like completely. Yeah. Well you know, they got to make you get some stuff from progressing

later in the game, so that it kind of rights. Yeah, but it's good because then you can just unlock them as soon as they're available instead of, oh, now I gotta grind more points or right, yeah, yeah, and I'm just saving them. Yeah. The costumes are all cosmetic except for like that one. I guess, but I think I I have access to it, but I haven't used it. But I'm wearing this like

yeah, I don't know if I actually have it or not. Well you have that because it's the first one she gets technically, along with the green one. Okay, yeah, the green one makes me think of I don't know if you saw it, if you see that Power Rangers movie from a few years ago, the one on the one where they all like they came back or no, then that's the one that actually came in theaters like when they you know, I didn't that look look it up because the initial suit

she's wearing makes me think of Rita Rapulsa from that movie Elizabeth Banks. She's like wearing the same like green outfit, which is like really funny. Oh okay, now I know it's I mean I've seen the trailers, so yeah, I know what yet, But I like it. I don't have one hundred percent or anything, but I really do like the world. I actually think the story's fine, Like I know people are ditching about that or like

you know, it's hackneyed or it's predictable. It's well, so what, we don't get a ton of these games out every year, So I'm happy with that already. Yeah, I mean I get it when you're talking about like other games that have better stories. This is not like I mean, the characters are not very emotive. It's kind of just feels very you know, kind of bog standard. I could just kind of skip a lot of

this. Yeah, and that's that's not great. Like when the best thing people say is, oh, you know, player for the combat, and then we got to wait till like the last five hours when it all comes together, and it's like, I mean, obviously the combat does a lot of heavy work there. It's it's great combat. It's fun boss battles, it's all that stuff. Uh, I don't, I don't know what you think about Like the sidequists, it's I don't, Yeah, it's fine,

just kind of exploring the world. Uh. Actually, I'm I'm kind of the opposite, like the combat is something to kind of be uh, you know, just dealt with or you know. But I like the story and like the city and stuff a lot more than That's one of that great and like the actual basics of combat. Yeah, I mean I'm not saying that, you know, it's just I think it's more about people. Just there

is stuff there right too to keep you like hooked in. Yeah, just you're not it's not going to be the story, right, So and that's fine. I mean that not every game has to have this amazing That's the thing. I think for most people tend the story. But for me it's good enough or yeah I like it so far. So yeah, I like

the uh. I just I just like that they give you that ability to like explore stuff because that you know, they have that kind of just standard side quest that you get off the like noticeboard thing, and then they have the exactly yeah, like the hair cutting salon or you know, like what do you think about the guy that does your does your hair? It's definitely funny because you know he looks at the most like agro guy in the world,

but he's not. Yeah, he's not. And then it's like, I mean, you can't forget the face either or the no faith, right, That's what I mean by like battling like that Elita movie, because we're all fucked up and it's like this I love the fact that they have like so many different Nativa too. Like you think, okay, the the ones you get at the beginning, okay, you'll get like different bass ballals, but it's like, oh, we're gonna just fight these, and then they

actually have so many. I think they made thirty four different ones. It's like that's pretty great for this being like their big first you know, Triple A studio or kind of release. Yeah, so how far did you get into it? So far? I got into it like when you get to the city and you start going, like you're getting the ability to go on the side the side quests that are longer. Okay, okay, remember that that one part. We have to get to the information of the hallow records,

and it's like going to flooded zone. Yes, you can actually like I got a quest actually to like drain the water, so like you can actually explore all that all that crap like underneath. And I thought that I was kind of interesting because you'd expect that to just kind of be like a static level or e static zone, right, but it's not. No, And they do that too, where like you can go back and so like those those code boxes that you can't open, right, Yeah, I would

get side quests to go back and get those, yep. And I think that that's cool too, you know, so it makes it desperation worth it too, because you can find you find so many things. It's not just like okay, go here, fight thing, go you know, so like actually spending time in the world feels like it's worth it and and you're getting something out of it instead of just kind of playing through. So I would still say, like, you know, there're the demo's there, but it's

it's worth the seventy dollars. I've been enjoying it for what I've played, and like I said, it's not my kind of game usually, so I think that that says a lot. I know, you're more familiar with with the kind of combat and stuff like that with these, but yeah, but it's it's you know, it's traditional. It's like a weird blend of like you know, Devin my Crier or like a good Rising and then dart Souls.

Yeah, I mean, and that's that's good. Like you can make this its own genre, I guess if they want to, all right, so that I think this is super positive for them. Hopefully this keeps going forward for him, you get more as time goes on. I'm sure this will go on a sale later and everything, so it'll probably just help moving forward. But yeah, well we'll keep playing it. I'm I'm sure as that, you know, the weeks go on and hopefully beat it and we'll

get to like I guess, give a final. Yeah, I've heard it's kind of you got a long game if you want to do everything. So yeah, it's like thirty hours if you want to. I think it's like fifty if you want to do everything, and then thirty just to kind of get through most of it. I know people that are just going from point A to point B. I think I saw like they were beating it in

like thirteen or fourteen hours something like that. I was like, well, okay, I mean I get it if you you need to beat games quickly or something, but I don't I don't see why you would a game just to just plow through that and not in experience it. But hey, everybody plays against differently, so it is what it is. Play any any more, no rest for the wicked or anything or nope. Also, also, okay, I want to play something next, you want to want to play

to play, Well, yeah, that's true. Always better to play stuff you you do want to play, So I guess that'll do it for us. Talking about games we played here, so getting into the news stuff, the one that made the most noise is, at least for my timeline and all the RPG folks, Square Enix lost some big money on content abandonment losses, approximately twenty two billion point one billion, one hundred and twenty one million

dollars. That's not anything to sniff at at all. This, of course, to be fair, this is what the new person in charge has been saying, that they're spending too much on things that don't make them a lot. So probably the unfortunately, if you wanted a sequel to Harvestella or you know, Various Day Life or hope not, but possibly even like the Star Ocean remasters or I mean, I don't know how well that did honestly, but that was actually a good one. But just because somethingse good doesn't always

mean that everything is going to sell. The deluge of games that they released all in twenty twenty two, like between September and December, you can't do that again. That was absolutely ridiculous, and that killed sales for all of those games, right, Why are you releasing a bunch of mid tier games

that all need their own marketing, all next to each other. You basically put them out there to let people know, Ah, these aren't really that that important, you know, right, It kind of feels like those are the ones that are gonna get affected the most. I also thought people were worried that Dragon Cluster remake three and the Fall Fantasy none remake that we don't even know if it actually I mean it's a lot of conjecture and a lot of rumors and a lot of Hey, we pretty much know it's there,

but they haven't announced it. What do you think this means for a square Just basically we're gonna drop the duds and focus on the big hits. Or I mean, I don't think they necessarily should, because even their quote unquote big hits, you know, there were reports that those didn't sell too well, Like Rebirth had like half the sale as a remake. Yeah, we

talked about that last week. Why that might yeah, yeah, I mean I think they I think they also tend to okay a lot of projects if they don't think about like that Phone Stars game, it's like who Yeah, like who asked for this? Or you know, like I feel like it's

them trying to that. Yeah, but like I don't think this. It's been proven time and time again that what happens in a Nintendo console doesn't necessarily translate to other consoles, right, ah, so then just do you know then just going like oh we can make that's no. I mean technically you can, but if the audience isn't there, then why bother? Uh? Yeah. I also think it's weirdly like I think it's like they don't give

people necessarily what they want. Like I think, you know, for years people have been wanting like a parasit eaverymake and you know squirres like no, fuck you, we're gonna make. Uh stars. My whole closet just came apart. Cool and I got an untaped okay or spill out in front of me and knock the computer over. Yeah that's Emerald beyond game. It's like, I'm sure it's fine, but how many people were wanting for that? I am to be fair? What has it been Like Scarlett Grace came out

a while ago. Yeah, you know, it's not like they just had a Saga game. Well, I think my bigger point is just like they don't you know, they should be more selective what they what they want, but they should also try to give people what they want. Yep. I mean the thing is like they can only I don't. I know that they have a lot of Saga people. They're at at square right now, so

like that's kind of why they're they're going after that. They did all the remasked, you know, they they poured it all those games or most of them into the new systems right now. This is twenty sixteen, looks like. But yeah, so we're talking about eight years from one SACER release to the other. So that's kind of fair. It makes sense why you had

released that. But yes, I don't know why we have Harvars Stella was actually an interesting concept of trying to meld like file Fantasy and the farming sim. It just it kind of needed. There was stuff missing and quality of life stuff that probably would have made that game a lot better and more tolerable for a lot of people outside of the just farming sim stuff. And yeah,

man, it's it sucks to see that. Probably you know your your favorite like lesser loved game is going to suffer from this, but this will teach them to kind of appreciate the stuff that is doing well that maybe we think is small. Right, like the team Asano folks said that they are going to be doing more games, right, and we're worried about them not doing Traveler three or I don't know if they'll do a Triangle Strategy too or

something like that, or another Bravely Default. So it's good to know that apparently that team is well thought of. The lead person got promoted and everything. So I don't think Dragon Quests, I mean, other than Dragon Quests being in trouble because of what they've already said, you know, development issues, and obviously I don't know how much Toriyama's work was ongoing at that point before hit untimely passing, so you know, but then you had the Dragon

Quest, the anime game that was just kind of put out there. I mean, they made a big deal about it, but it didn't do well. That kind of makes sense, But then you know, it's those kind of things that like you have to be you have to know that, you have to see that there's a once for that, right, do people really want this? I don't know Forespoken is another thing that like, it's awesome

that there was an opportunity for a game like that to get made. Now, look what happened to the studio They had to get you know, merged into spur Indix Proper, and that game got really bad press. It's actually not a terrible game. You liked it. I still want to play it at some point. It's just unfortunately didn't didn't meet the expectations that they Obviously they have extremely ridiculous expectations as well at times. But for them, I

kind of get it right, like you got. You can't just keep making a bunch of other things. But like it would be nice if oh, is there gonna be like actually go through your catalog and figure out stuff that people actually want, like you said, like you know, like remake remake Parasity. Yeah, I think Van Story will be cool personally. Yeah, and finally make too technically isn't that Tally the City? No? Because good

and the City is not? Yeah? Would would we get something like the I can't think of it now, the final Fantasy with chaos, but we even get something like that now, Yeah, they're in com paradise because of this, you know, look fourteen is not going anyway. We know we got seven Part three. Hopefully it doesn't mean I mean we'll get comp Fantasy

seventeen down the line. I'm sure DragonQuest twelve is still that there's something wrong with that Dragon Quest three remakes happening, that they're probably too far along with that to canon. I'm sure, right, But yeah, it's this is

actually a good thing. I feel like I think they're going to like prepare projects more before they start just going in development with it and going, oh, this is actually going to sell well, or hopefully they learned that, you know, marketing is important and you can't release things all bam bam bam. They're gonna get less releases from them, but hopefully they'll all get their time now instead. Well they can't now. They just can't blame everything on

the American game, so I think the Western games for their failure. So now they have to look at like their own. Yeah, everything is now a you know, basically a big some kind of known quantity for the most part, but it sucks for like the Valkyrie profile, macy Elisium type stuff to you know, have Star Ocean. It was nice seeing like a new thing. I do feel Chronicle that now is not going to get a sequel probably or they won't do something like that again because it didn't do well.

But also like are you looking inward and saying, well, we did that game of disservice? So hopefully this, this this new guy that seems like he has a good look towards the future for Square is really going to to kind of push them to let's focus on quality not quantity and and get good stuff out for Square. And they, I mean they already said probably aside from Rebirth, they're not going to do these exclusive deals, it seems like

anymore. They're going to try to kind of put it on everything so they can get the most out of the sales. So that's another thing that helps you as well. Right, I don't know, I don't I don't think we need to rehash it. But I don't think that Rebirth and sixteen. I think not being on PC day one is hurtful. I don't know necessarily that being not being on Xbox is like hurtfle for them. But also I'd rather the game come out faster and then you take later for the PC release

than oh the game takes a year longer. To make because we also have to have it come out on pieces at the time. I mean, I can also kind of do the math even like the old like Kingdom Like look at like Kingdom Heart's three, be like, okay, that was on you know, PS four and Xbox one. How many copies did each, you know platform To be fair, that game, Xbox had never had Keendom Hearts, So like you're gonna tell everybody, Oh, we got to quickly play

through all these other games for Keendom Hearts three. You know, like you're gonna get a lot of people excited about the fact that you can own them. But there's also like there's not that history there most people associated with PlayStation So well, yeah, I'm just saying like at least Final Fantasy has been on Xbox or four. They made that big effort of putting a lot of

the old games on there. So like the seven remake series is not being on there is a big deal or four Xbox not being at sixteen not being on there is a big deal for Xbox. They just now got fourteen, even though it's apparently it's got its own issues, right, So yeah, this is something that obviously it's gonna take time to play out. I don't know if we're ever going to find out what some of these canceled projects are.

It would be cool to find out if somebody ever, you know, did figure it out, but yeah, it will probably take some time before we get that, if at all. So, but yeah, that's that's gonna be further down the line for sure, probably till we see like fruits of it. But at least it's good that they are they're doing this. On the other side of things, unfortunately, the trend of this year continues with not only the Deliverers from Mars team getting laid off, which that's really

unfortunate. Both of those games are Deliverers from the Moon and from Mars or kind of both thought of other people that played them. You know, it sucks to see this really, right They said that they tried everything they could to kind of keep the people in, but right now it's just I mean, I can't imagine those games like huge sellers, So no, it's not. Yeah, it's hugely surprising necessarily, but still a game. Yeah,

definitely not. The biggest one is Take two, not only you know we talked about previously that they had laid off like five percent of its workforce. But then they just announced all of a sudden that not only is it just laying off people, they are closed studios. So they're closing Roll seven, which is a team that just not too long ago made Rolodrome and all the all the World the two well thought of, wonderfully loved any games. Really

sucks to see that. And then Kurbl Space Program too, which was still in development, that studio that's in but that has been closed as well, Intercept Games and like they made a big deal about buying their Curbl Space IP. Yeah, like that's amazing that they just closed like that without even letting Curbl Space Program two just come out and see how it goes. Yeah, when it's broke. A few days ago, I rude on Twitter, like I was like, isn't curbal two still in early access? Like yeah,

like that tweet kind of blew up a little, which is surprising. Yeah, I mean it's it's it's crazy, like this is the this is a company that makes money, Like you know, I mean there's still taking money off GTA five. I know GTA six development probably costs a lot, I'm

sure. Uh. I guess for me, here's The thing is, like I can understand it when a game an early scheme early access gets abandoned, like the developer rending the money or just kind of rent away or whatever, but it's not typically not a game or from a company that is on the fucking like New York Stock Exchange, or it's not like an established company, like they need to do right by this game somehow either have another team start

working on which seems unlikely because they don't seem to care, or to straight up offering like refunds. Yeah, that's I don't know. I mean technically, could they just release this so people can that that body and early access can can keep using it. Well, I mean you can still like buy it, like it's not like oh the developer went under it. You know, the games can't be. But are they going to keep but not going

to keep importing it or yeah that's the point, right, Yeah. I think about like how long Cribble Won is in development, Like I think it was an early access for like years, so oh yeah, it's not like this thing was like a finished product or anything by any scratch. The way that game is, it makes sense for them to have released it that way. Yeah, you know, it's not. It just sucks that it didn't get to fully come out and have its moment because they do just close it.

Go seven is really just shocking to me because those both those games, I don't know how much they sold. Obviously, Bulodrome got helped by the fact that being on PS Plus that got it more attention, and then went to Game Pass now, so they've obviously been trying to get the most they could out of those. But man, its just it sucks for all the people involved with the developers, everybody that they you know, are having the

studios closed. Hopefully some of them get to put on something else aside, uh take two, you know, maybe can go back to the original company. Maybe they don't exist anymore either. Over the way investment is going in games right now, I doubt it unfortunately. Yeah, but they'll they'll keep the that p and they're probably not gonna just give it to someone. Man

it whatever. It's one of these where it's unbelievable that a huge company like this just does that, Like and Man, but I guess the same thing, like Sony, right, they closed the London studio, that that one, the UK studio and and all that. So we've seen this with with some of the bigger names. They're closing studios there lay people. I mean, I guess we shouldn't be surprised, but this just kind of hit like a wow. Okay, you know that one was kind of interesting. Speaking

of indie stuff, I'd get Xbox show happened. They did show off some of the bigger games, you know, like thirty three Immortals, which kind of looks like Haites but co Op and more stuff for Power World and which includes that like where now you can fight with the pals, make it even more like Pokemon and stuff like that, so it's like almost like a Pokemon stadium type thing now you can do with them, which okay cool. Kind

of had to feel like that was coming. There's gonna be a Jackbox Naughty Pack now, which I'm sure that will be a lot of fun at the parties. Anything spit out to you or I tried to watch the thing, I thought I was like really distracting for some reason, like the actual showcase. I don't know why, maybe just like how Egene presented it is. It's weird, but that cyberpunk came kind of neat that like turn based RPG thing. Yeah, I forget the name of it, but because they had

a bunch of crap, they were going key locker. Okay, yeah I did not. I think Tells of Iron was going to get a sequel. But it's awesome that it is actually liked as of Iron. That's like the game where you play is the like rat and it's a soul sych. Yeah, Dungeons of Hinterberg keeps looking awesome every time I see it. So very excited for this. This is one of the games I'm actually really excited about.

So yeah, I'm glad to see it got more time Vampire Survivors getting more stuff expected, but every time they do, it's like, wow, okay, we're just doing more. Like how they made the joke about you know, they may have a driple a game going on to Yeah, anything else that stood out to you, not really, you know, a lot of it seemed okay, but maybe not personally. Sofa is another one too that sit out to me a lot. I like those like old school action

adventure kind of things, so it definitely wants to go check out. Like I'm sure that they have trailers for a lot of these that you can go watch without having to watch the whole showcase. So it's Scott saying the live sex are pretty cringe in the showcase, but it wasn't too agreed to see

to his length of time. Personally, it's kind of like the PC gaming one where they try to be too funny and too silly, and it's like sometimes it's like, really, guys, these jokes feel like they were from a decade ago, like you know, just sometimes it's okay to just show trailers and we're good, you know, we don't have to so yeah, let's and Scott says he's also a fan of key Locker, so good to

know that we have another fan of key Locker there. Yeah. But overall, like if you like any games, you know, and a lot of stuff coming to game Pass too, so that's something to make it work that there's some that are not even coming to that a lot. I saw all people are making a big deal about there's some that are like PC only and they're like, well, this is showing more about how Microsoft is trying to make it it's not about Xbox, And it was like, look, the

name is ideat Xbox, but they also fund PC only stuff. There's PC only game Pass for a reason, because there's games that are only on PC. Yeah, so you know they've tried and tried to get you to understand that Xbox is also PC, PC Xbox. You know, they made those together, So that's kind of part of it. I think people need to stop making it like this bigger deal than it already is, or making it

too big a deal when it's not. You know, just you're just trying to find something stupid to complain about instead of just understanding, hey, it is, it is what it is. Speaking of Xbox, so there is a new the Starfield expansion is going to become in the fall. That's that Shattered Space one that we've been kind of waiting to hear moren he was, of course he did and every kind of funny very recently this week, you

know. Uh so they did a lot. They apparently redid some of the map stuff, so they have you know, city map stuff, and I guess they'll probably release it around the same time Starfield did, or uh or a little bit later. Are you was you think about playing it if this

expansion is good? Or if I had the game? Sure, you know, but I don't, so I have to wonder how much how many more expansions they'll do, if it'll be like smaller packs or bigger ones until they, you know, the PS five version eventually comes out or they announced that. If yeah, it feels like that rumor is is actually you know, I wouldn't be surprised I wouldn't be surprised if after they released this they kind of announced that the PlayStation version is coming, like yeah, next year.

You know that way, you still have exclusivity for Xbox for a while, like maybe six months or something, and then in the middle of next year they have it come to the PlayStation. And you know, the way that the Fallout games have been selling everywhere, I think, especially considering it's a big bethesa game of the Todd Howard game. I know, listen, I'm gonna I'm with you. I'm with you for the Xbox people that if you

want to sell your console, have any exclusive matter. They still want to sell consoles, but Xbox has made it apparent that consoles are not everything for them. They want to make money, and eventually, I think you're gonna have to put one of the big hitters on PlayStation to to really see how much you can do. Because okay, cool, high fire rusk rounded see a Thieves Pensaman, I'm sure they're all do fine. I'm sure see a

Thieves will have wonderful numbers or has wonderful numbers already. You know. I'm sure there's gonna be keep on PlayStation that are gonna be so excited they can play it now and all that stuff, and it's gonna keep that game going. Grounded is done well apparently on Switch as well, so like, that's great, but I think to really see what this does for you, Unfortunately for the Xbox only people, I think Starfield is kind of a no brainer.

It's coming. It's coming at some point, I think. But does the sees that with the Fallout games and all that, and they're old other scroll styles and stuff that says I think we why why if all of our other stuff so many multi platform, why not make our latest one multi platform? You know, as well raking the benefits. You could tell maybe some of the Hallout people that Bob Fallout you can that kind of got into because of the TV show. You can tell them all this is also from them,

and you get sales that way too. I don't know if there's gonna be that much correlation with its two different world, you know. But yeah, I just feel like that's a no brainer. Now the rest of the stuff, the Foorzo's and Halo's and gears and all that stuff, I don't know, you know, but I think that definitely is. Yeah, Scott brings it up to I'm sure the Fallout getting a lot more traction on all platforms, and the team should help with that mentally too. Yeah, it's

Todd Howard talked about it. He said he didn't even know. He didn't. They expected it to do decent, right, like they expected, and there'd be some numbers happening with the games, but not not this right, not the second most watched show on Amazon Prime ever, like you know, behind the load of the Rings thing, which isn't even which is depending on who you talk to, you is not that great. So it could literally be the best thing that's ever been on Amazon Prime. And and that's a

credit to everybody involved with that. So of course it's going to explode the games and and of course, yeah, that definitely helps them. I'm sure, like we talked about a bunch of times, everybody is scrambling to figure out how the heck can we put it out a new fallout thing now, but putting starfill Out on more systems would definitely help with that than just Xbox

at PC and having that DLC. If it does decently on Game Pass or Xbox whatever you get it on or PC, I'm sure it will do heck numbers on PSIB, especially if it's well received after Starfield kind of had that like middling you know, kind of like mostly positive but also a lot of negative. And it was like very depending on who you talked to, was a it was really good, or it's definitely not the game of the generation that everybody want to be on the Xbox side, so you're right, man,

it's a game of the century. Yeah, in the game of the century. Definitely. So a cool thing that I'm sure you probably considering. You like Tetris and all seven to eleven is going to partner with Tetris on a line of merchandise which also includes like having testas on these like flippy cups and it's like a heads this a little controller and including it. Yeah, yeah, it looks fun, you know. Yeah, it's a neat idea. I mean, I'm sure it'll be completely unplayable, but still still at

school. Why not? I mean people could play like Doom on a fridge or whatever, now, so why not put Tetris on a little handheld like that? You know, I think I think the smaller you get with a with a electronic device, at least with like you know, gaming, the worst it gets. Oh no, definitely, yeah. I mean, like if you're gonna make like the play date kind of the playdate thing that that's kind of neat, Like it's, oh, it's its own little Tetris machine

and something you can just kind of turn on. I play. It's different a little for me because that's actually like the games made for that are designed for it. But like all those like little arcade cabinets like oh you can buy Galaga and it's like you know eight inch arcade, you know eight inch arcade thing you put in your desk or you know, stuff like that. It's like this is unplayable. Like I feel like they're going to break out

the like the stick on this thing. You know. Scott says, the Tetris is not running on my watch in the future, what is even the point of an advancing technology? Yeah, he's not wrong, Like that's true. We just want it available on everything. Let's just let's do that. I mean it'd also gets tetris like merchandising and stuff too, So that's that's good to see. Why not do this, Let's see if it makes you some money, because it could. X to Find has got a release date

now. It's apparently gonna go live with May twenty first, after it failed certification in September last year. Yeah. I feel like it's been delayed over and over and over, and you know, don't put it past. You just have to delay it again, right, you know Skull and Bones. Yeah, they got a kind of call the money from sall them bone. So yeah, So the preseason is going to start on that May twenty first, and it's gonna last six weeks before they have the first proper season.

Uh. You players are gonna have access the fourteen mats, five modes, twenty four weapons. Okay, I mean people that have seen the people that play it. Says if there's a lot like Call of Duty, I don't know anyone who's interested or cares. I do. But again, it's that crowd, right, It's the crowd that likes to play all the shooters.

Right. The thing is stick with what they know or what they you know, right, this will get big numbers at the beginning, and then it'll keep taper off as you and then I don't work for three now like exactly, hopefully it does okay for you to be sold. It is free, so you know, that means more people can play it. Just uh, just I don't think it's going to do right, yeah, whatever, but it is what. It is good that it's finally coming out at least and

not just sitting in more development. Hell ah, although I don't collect these anymore, even though I did go to a like we have like a japan sort of focused store in Kendle, and I went with an eye and a friend and there was so much stuff there, and a lot of it was still like anime funkos, and I was like, holy crap, they went this far with one piece. Thank God I don't collect these anymore. I would have gone nuts bying all this stuff, even though now they have those

like little small figures that can actually fit on my desk. And I'm sitting there mentally pulling myself away and saying, no, nope, we're not going to start this, you know. But still funkal Fusion the latest game, remember the Gears Pop thing. The latest game, the game Funko is making is going to come out September thirteenth. It's going to be on everything.

Basically, this is from that UK studio ten ten Games. And you know this is has people that were including the previous founder of Lego, the Lego games, the TT games folks. Right, I mean that's fine. Like I watched a trailer, like you know, all the it's the problem that I always bitch about with like the Lego stuff. It's like, okay, you get all these like and I guess Lego dimensions that she did fix this a little, but like you get all these properties together, but you had

on it. They had no voice acting at all in this thing, right, and you damn sure to know they're not going to get any of the actual actors, you know. I mean that would balloon the development costs, right, But it also get me. You know, that's a reason why I'm not interested in this stuff is because like they they just cheap out or it's like I don't need to have two hundred different uh franchises in this thing, five that are actually well represented. Then well you might as well tell

Funko that that's what they are. They just pour out all these franchises until I don't know when the it's gonna hit south for them. Yeah, but they somehow keep making bigger and bigger deals to get I can't like. I seriously, when the Pokemon stuff started, I didn't think they were gonna get that far, and now they've done so many. I'm just like, Wow, Nintendo really let them just do that many. I guess they sell so well, why not, right, Yeah, but it's incredible how much it

feels like they are just overdone at this point. But then they still keep keep doing it and keep selling, so I guess props to them. Hey, if this makes any money, I'm sure this just helps, right, Like, there's development costs, but that's why they cheap out. Because if this makes anything, if this catches on at all with you know, let's say even a third or a fourth of the Funco fans or people that are just fans these franchises that are in this game, it could help, right.

Will it probably be a good game? Probably not. I think it'll be fine, but it'll be perfectly like passable, but it'll probably be just be like a Lego rip off or you know, the environment to get not bolts, but you know, but some other currency and you can build new stuff somehow with that, right. That's that's what they want to do though. They that's why they they brought in people from t T Games. They just want to make something like that. Those games do well, maybe you

get the kids on it and you're sold there, that's good. Yeah, Limited Run is going to sell CDR games. No, no, that yeah, they already have sold CDR games, right, People getting pissed about at least at least like with it with a good reason, Like if you buy and it doesn't work in your system, you should Yeah, that's not cool. So explain this to me, like why why so they're they're selling it

with like the readable these are the readable discs? Well, like are there are differences between what CDRs and then what they call pressed discs, like those are like disc you'd actually like if you go into a store and buy a CD, that's what you get like a press disc. And CDRs are cheaper, but they don't work in one hundred percent of consoles, right, especially like three ds you know which there were a few different varieties and they're also

thirty years old. I mean, they would have had a better shot of just saying, oh, this is not for gaming or not for actual game, this is just a display item or something like that. Yeah, exactly, because if you have the wrong three D oh, they can't read it.

Yeah, And I guess they've other they've had other issues where they've sold I think it's a Monkey Island anthology and some other thing where they just burn it too, like a DVD R instead of having like an actual wow like disc, you know, real disc, and like it had problems installing off

that. So I actually think a lot of it is when Embracer bought and uh limited run like quantity controlling the ship and well they yeah, exactly trying to make more games and then also like trying to do it cheap, right, Yeah, because they're the ones doing the physical for Hi Fi Rush and PAM. I wonder how those were. I'm sure those will be fine because

those are they're still making like PS five and Xbox games. But it's a lot of this is just like the old style or older stuff, and it's like that's what you're known for, you know, that's the whole fucking point of your company, just to put out old games. On like new platform or you know, like new consoles and platforms, and if you can't even that correctly, what's the point. Well, and then now they're doing their own publishing, right, They had that game that came out a couple of

months ago, which was actually pretty well, pretty decently received. So yeah, but yeah, I just think it's a real shame. Like you can tell the limited to run, it's kind of slowly circling the Draine. Yeah, it sucks that, like this is the company that people are making a big deal about. Oh, they're going to help, you know, preserve games or make make additions of games that don't have physical editions. It was cool when you get all the like these any games that they didn't have physicals.

Now you do, and then now you're kind of doing it on the chief and that that's really poor. And also another another thing is like CDRs go bad way quicker than I can. Oh yeah, press disks, So that doesn't the whole any anybody has that made stuff with CDRs knows how quick those things the tower, right, Yeah, they're meant to be disposable or you know, even if you get like a good burn. But it's like, yeah, it's not gonna last you know, five years, ten years,

you know how long you want to keep it. So yeah, unless you just like never use it and it's there, like you said, as a display item and you play it every once in a while, then okay. But if it's not gonna I mean hopefully it's one of those where it's like, okay, well maybe they thought they weren't going to sell that many, so they found a way to cheap out. So this three d oh game or whatever. But hey, man, plumbers don't wear ties is a

big game. So but anything else you wanted to mention, No, that's about it. Or I don't think any of dys watch that Knuckles show. I have not meant to and instead of watching something else and got onto that. But I'll probably try to make a bigger effort to watch it. It is certified for us, it's doing it seems to be doing well. I think it's the most like watched thing on Paramount for that Well yeah, yeah,

exactly. It doesn't. It doesn't say much because it's not like Paramount outside of sports is like this huge Uh they're they're again, I think I've mentioned a few times they're like hoping and wishing and everything that like Peacock will do this merger so that CBS can kind of get rid of it. But yeah, well okay, then that will be the end of the show here. I guess let's just uh go through some of the stuff that is coming out here in the next week. Uh, some of this This next week

is gonna be like the big one for the the indie games. Like everybody decided that they wanted to release on May ninth for some reason, so that is kind of what's going to happen, or a little bit before that May eighth. The Indica is coming on the eighth. That's getting some some decent reviews and I'm sure it will get a lot of hohum from the indie folks. Animal wel also coming. That'll be on PS Plus as well. The Little Kiddie Big City actually got moved up to the second so that's already out

right now actually that you can play. I should actually go play that to talk about for next week. That Vampire Surbsvivor's Contra thing comes out this week as well, or before we do the podcast, So yeah, definitely everybody check that out. There's a pac Man Mega Tunnel Battle Chomp Champs that also comes out that day. That's coming out on everything. The Rainbow Cotton remaster

also comes out that day too. If you're a Cotton fan, I know there's folks from there, so you know there's some cool stuff coming for the indie folks. Some don't they know? Well, I think Paper Mario A thousand of Your Doors, like the biggest releases. So and then you got that like the gos to Tsushima, like the Director's cut that's coming for the PC popes. A lot of Nettunia stuff coming for a switch and then there's the new one I think too. So yeah, some cool stuff, especially

if you're in indies. Go like, like Satt said, Neptunia month. He's the one that reviews them all for Addam Haven. So if you want your lowdown on Neptunia, Scott is your man to go give you that. But okay, so until next week, everybody. I had a shorter show this week. We do appreciate your watching listening. I go like and subscribe wherever it is you do watch or listen. That helps us. Go write a review if you can, and we'll see you next week, all right,
