The 369th Infantry Regiment, known as the Harlem Hellfighters was a band of brothers in combat.  But off the battlefield, with their leader James Reese Europe, they conquered France with their music.  We talk with Jason Moran, The Kennedy Center's Artistic Director for Jazz, to hear the story of how these soldiers were the original pioneers of Jazz.
