Identifying Cushing’s: Diagnostic pointers for hyperadrenocorticism
May 21, 2020•27 min
Episode description
Hyperadrenocorticism is a common endocrinopathy in dogs, but establishing a diagnosis can be challenging. The currently available tests have limited reliability and can result in both false positive and false negative results. In this podcast, we will talk about how to recognize patients with Cushing’s syndrome and what to expect on routine lab tests. We will then talk about selecting and interpreting confirmatory tests and how to differentiate dogs with pituitary dependent disease from those with functional adrenal tumors.
