Today, my guest is former Marine Sergeant Dave Kenneally. Dave, as mentioned is a former Sergeant of Marines, but he’s also a former Buddhist Monk in the tradition of the Vietnamese Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. He spent six years living in Monasteries and Practice centers before moving to San Diego where he teaches Mindfulness Meditation every week at Sangha Ocean Beach. He’s also a Massage Therapist and Yoga Therapist and has taught mindfulness to diverse groups from teens to people at end of life. Raised in the Bronx in New York City to an Irish dad and Ecuadorian mom, Dave feels very grateful that he gets to spread the practices of mindfulness all over the world through his teaching. - We’re going to learn a lot more about Dave, his time in the Marine Corps, his becoming a Buddhist monk and his time in the monasteries and practice centers, what brought him to San Diego, and then all about what he’s doing now as a mindfulness teacher, massage therapist, and yoga therapist... that’s all here in today’s episode of the Veteran’s PATH podcast.
