#43 Filling the Healthcare Gap for Veterans - Ronald Steptoe, Warrior Centric Health

What a military story! Ron Steptoe and his wife are both West Point grads and met there. And here's the real story: 238 years of family military service to the US! And it starts with his FIFTH great grandfather serving in the Revolutionary War, James Bowser was one of only 5,000 African Americans to fight in that war out of about 300,000 warriors. He fought in the Battle of Yorktown and for that, received 200 acres of land. There is pain associated with this story, though, so listen in for more of it. Ron was then part of a launch of consumer drugs in the DC area and that exposure to healthcare was a natural path to Warrior Centric Health. He recognized that the vast majority of veterans did not get treated by the VA because of the lack of resources and they and their families had to go to the private marketplace. So coordinating those private resources to fill that gap became his mission.
