Episode description
Today's verses were submitted by VERSED listener, Heather. It concerns one of the most frequent questions about God's character and that is God's wrath. Wrath is hard to justify and I have to admit it I felt the same way until I began studying the Bible more than reading it.
We return to the book of Romans today - written by Paul. Paul has expressed his willingness to come and preach the gospel in Rome to teach the Christians there and to receive encouragement from them. Since most of his original audience had never met him personally, Paul wrote to explain the gospel he preached.
He sets up the Gospel (the good news) against the backdrop of the bad news. The only way we can understand there is a “cure” for a disease is to know that there is in fact a disease that we possess. That’s what happens in today’s reading. We discover WHY we need the wrath of God.
This is the VERSED podcast; a daily pursuit to become more perceptive to what the Bible says.
