Today, we will be discussing the topic "Changing the narrative" Prominent individuals have changed the narratives from time immoral, we have the likes of Nelson Mandela who stood to end apartheid in South Africa, Martin Luther King Jr., the spokesperson and leader in the American civil rights movement. Here in Nigeria, we have the likes of late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, who introduced free education in Nigeria, the late Lateef Jakande, the first civilian governor of Lagos State whose tenure saw the birth of Lagos State University. Also, Ahmadu Bello, Nnamdi Azikwe, Tafawa Balewa, Herbert Macaulay and Anthony Enahoro were nationals who fought for Nigeria's independence. They all changed the status quo in the society which we enjoy today. Unfortunately, the essence of those past struggles is gradually being eroded. The Nigeria our heroes past fought for, is becoming a shadow of herself!
