Episode description

Lecture delivered by Swami Tattwamayananda at the Vedanta Society of Northern California on November 11, 2012. Without self-effort we cannot understand or make use of God's grace. In the end, we find even our self-effort was the result of God's grace. Examples from the Bhagavad Gita, Swami Vivekananda, Sri Ramakrishna, Christian mysticism, and Sanskrit tradition are taken to expound this topic. The two major kinds of obstacles and how God helps a person to overcome them are also explained.
