His writing focuses on counter-culture, radical politics, and the paranormal. Gittlitz's book I Want to Believe: Posadism, UFOs and Apocalypse Communism was published by Pluto Press in 2020. Other essays and journalistic pieces have appeared in The New York Times, Baffler, Vice, The New Inquiry, HTML Giant, Truthout, Protean, and the Outline.
