Behali Assembly constituency is one of the 126 assembly constituencies of Assam Legislative Assembly. Behali forms part of the Tezpur Lok Sabha constituency. Previously, represented by Ranjit Dutta before he got elected as an MP, the Behali LAC is the home to majority of the Tea Tribe population. As such, this vote share plays a crucial role in determining the political outcomes. The tea tribe community is one of the most political exploited communities in Assam.
