The maker movement has sparked a need for multidisciplinary centers of creativity across the globe. These creative centers -commonly called makerspaces, come to life with the cumulation of tools and resources that foster making through hands-on learning.

In this podcast series, we will take a deep dive into the world of making and explore the inspiration, drawbacks and success stories of makerspaces in higher education and beyond. This episode we talk to the Fabrication Lab Director Brandt Smith with the Oklahoma University Tom Love Innovation HUB.

Located in Norman, OK the OU Tom Love Innovation HUB is the second space in our Maker Life Series. The Innovation HUB has a unique approach to including a makerspace, fabrication or fab lab with entrepreneurship. 

 

Guests: Brandt Smith- Brandt Smith oversees the Fabrication Lab and spearheads all Lab initiatives. His leadership has generated several internal and external projects for the Fabrication Lab, most notably the production of modified personal protective equipment during the initial Covid-19 outbreak.
