Hey y'all, Apologies for missing our broadcast last week. Due to a computer death and some traveling and some difficulty getting all my tools back on a borrow machine, we hit some snags. Anyway, have some table-setting for what looks to be a fun finale.
Yo I'm angry about this fridging. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Also I'm not buying Willow's fight with Tara. Fuck you, Joss. So there's a road trip, and the most useless character ever appears- Ben. Treat your queers better, show writers!
It took way too long to get to the pun. Harmony and Cordelia have a history, and we finally get to a good use of the two. Harmony is also totally the type of vampire to get drawn in to a pyramid scheme. I hope the show is learning that it does really well when it's not all about the Angel Gaze. Leslie also makes a dramatic exit.It doesn't feel very consistent with his character, but nothing has so far. This is the breaking point, finding out his colleagues are being harvested for organs? Oh well...
We have one more episode dealing with the fallout of Joyce's death, where little Dawn decides to raise her mom from the dead. This was a bit predictable and boilerplate- if not for the character twist at the end. Decent but pales in comparison to the last one (*shudder*). Also, Spike has decided to commission a Buffy robot, and I'm pretty stoked about SMG's acting in this one. But I'm disappointed in the lack of vision among the scooby gang. Having slayer robots would give Buffy some much-needed...

Soooo much wokeness to tackle in these episodes. Also, apparently you still work for W&H after you die? Do lawyers have valued skill sets in Hell? Kate gets fired. And it makes sense, I wish more procedurals with supernatural elements would get this.
Y'all, men are terrible. Spike comes out to Buffy about his crush, then reconnects with Drusilla . . . and honestly neither of them come out smelling any better. These are not characters I want to spend more time with unless their given something more than romantic feelings to work with. Harmony dumps Spike, but through that entire fight scene I couldn't get over that Buffy has very personal reasons to want both Harmony and Dru dead, but all her attention is focused on her bickering with Spike. ...
We were hangry. And we didn't like these eps. What happened to Darla?
Everyone knows but Dawn. I've been there, that's some bullshit. I feel you, girl. Also Glory is a god, but I don't know what that means in this context? Are gods above or below the Powers that Be? We're the oracles immortal too? Also the Watcher's council is back and are just as useless as ever.
So Angel got dark. Also he fired everyone. But we're all here for the Darla/Drusilla stuff, so we don't really care.

It's mostly contrived nonsense this week. Bright Spots: Kate. I've made no secret that I like Kate, and I like that she's not Angel's friend. I hope this doesn't change their dynamic. It's much more interesting to have these two good guys at each other's throats and getting in each other's way. I don't want Angel to become Kate's friend just because he's good. Drusilla/Darla. Honestly most of the "good" comes from speculation on my part here. The fact that Drusilla is in league with W&H make...
Y'all . . . These episodes were truly affecting. Buffy is having to grow up fast, with Joyce dealing with a life-threatening illness. Worse, there's no supernatural cause, so there's nothing Buffy is used to fighting. And she has to be a mom to Dawn along with all her other duties. Not to mention the bug demon that preys on the mentally ill? And that other people can summon it to get rid of troublesome people? Jesus this is dark.

These episodes suck.
So men are the worst. We start with Xander, who is having trouble adulting for the first time. Both in relating to his demon-girlfriend and in, well, getting his shit together. He gets split into adult Xander and manchild Xander. Also they reall should have had a threesome. Our second dose of toxic masculinity comes from Riley, who is super threatened that Buffy is stronger and faster and better at adulting. Wait, is that a pattern here? Luckily his friend Graham is there for him- if not for Spi...
So we stop at a Karaoke bar where there's a maybe-gay lime green demon who is really good at diagnosing feelings. It's a lot more coherent than Rico's wife having a prophecy baby. Also Angel deals with his guilt over killing an innocent demon pretty quickly. We never even learn his name. Also horses. Fun but not really giving me enough lore to care about what's going on. I'll take more of the pansexual karaoke master, though. And then we have a flashback episode where Angel stays at a racist hot...
Dracula is about, and he has some special powers, like not dying with a stake to the heart. I didn't really feel this episode, but the idea of Dracula being some kind of special vampire, and his mythology being based on his eccentricities is intriguing to me. I want to see more. Also WTF is up with this bitch who claims to be Buffy's sister? Is Anya up to her old tricks again?
How the fuck is Leslie the most relate-able character here? He tries to sabotage a Wolfram & Heart operation, and then takes a promotion instead of turning good . . . and Angel has to be a dick to him. Also I'm super up for a heist movie in this universe. Also fuck the last 3 minutes. Even with Darla around.
We're back! We close season 4 of Buffy with the end of Adam and the Initiative, where Bitches can finally come out about really hating this season. I'm not so down on it, but there are quite a few missed opportunities. Of everyone in the Cast, only Willow and Spike seemed to get any real character growth. Shit is blowing up in Buffytown! Adam is a dick, but we already knew that. I;'m real conflicted about Spike. And why is Angel here again? I really want Tara to have a personality. Also Xander is bad at things. As for the Angel episode . . . never mind. Yuck.
