I know Melania Trump's nemesis, Mira Ricardel

I realized this morning that I know Mira Ricardel, the woman Melania Trump is trying to get fired from the National Security Council. Mira Ricardel (then-Baratta) and I worked together in the US Senate in the late 1980s and early 1990s when we both handled arms control issues, she for Bob Dole and me for Ted Stevens. I wanted to talk a bit about my memory of Mira -- she wasn't terribly nice back then either -- but also about an incident that happened to her when we were on my first arms control congressional delegation (codel) in December of 1989, when a top US embassy official openly discriminated against Mira for being a woman.
