Listen on the Unmute Presents podcast feed. See you there. Oh yeah, did I mention you can also check out Unmute show for all past episodes and to get more information about what we've got going on, someone asked once how can they hear who is calling them without having to flick around on the screen with voiceover and get details about what the name of the person is or what that person's phone number is when they're calling you? Well, I'm going to give you directions for iOS 18. If you're running an earlier version of iOS then you may need to do a little bit of research, but honestly I think it's in the same area if you go to your Settings application and then you go all the way to the bottom. Quick tip four Finger tap at the bottom of your screen will take you all the way down to apps and double tap on that. You can then navigate to the phone app. Use your heading navigation to switch to headings and go down to the letter P or use the picker on the right side. And once you activate phone, there's an option in this application setting that says announce calls and if you double tap on this button you'll have call always headphones in car headphones or never. If you have it set to always and voiceover is on, then your phone will clearly speak the person's name or phone number when they call you. If voiceover is off, then Siri will speak the person's name or phone number when they call you. If you set it to headphone and car, then when you're connected to CarPlay or you have supported Bluetooth headphones connected, you'll hear the person's number or name and if you have it set to head headphones, you'll have the person's name announced to you. When you have supported headphones connected, set this to never to never hear the person's name or number when they're calling you. But if you have it set to never, which is typically what mine is set to, you can flick around on the screen with voiceover to find out who it is calling you before you use two finger double tap to answer that call.
Hey all, Marty here and today I'm going to show you how to access the share sheet in mail. Share sheet and mail you say yes, there actually is one. Most people don't know about it because it's so buried. But I'm going to show you how to access the share sheet in mail. So you open up an email and when you have the body of the email open, you go down to the More button, then you go all the way down to print, which is almost all the way at the bottom. Double click on that and then you're going to get presented with a pop up window. And in the top right corner, just down a little, you will see the share button. You click on that and then you have access to the share sheet which then gives you lots of options to be able to do different things with the mail. If you have an attachment, you can save it as a PDF, you can share to social media, you can save it to a reader later app, you can do all kinds of cool things, anything that the share sheet will allow you to do. So again, open up mail, go to the body of the email, go to the More button, scroll all the way to the bottom, hit the print button, go up to the top right corner, hit that share sheet button or the share button and then you have access to everything the share sheet has to offer. So check that out and enjoy.
Hi everybody, it's Chris and welcome back to some more tips with Safari. So I was exploring recently the share sheet and I know I have shared on this before in a previous digital bite. But what I want to do is show you how you can further customize your share sheet when you open it up when you're on a Safari website. So what I have here, change the. View style in file explorer heading is.
This great little tips website. It's Sharon S H A R O N Shortcuts IE and David Goldfield recently shared this on Mastodon And I was really excited to find this great website. So I wanted to see what was happening with my share sheet because I definitely want to keep this link. And so I'm going to go down. To the share button, toolbar, Share show, bookmark, Share button. There we go. And we're going to activate that change. The view style in File Explorer. Sharing shortcuts.
So then it repeats the website that I'm on. Now I have edited my share sheet before, but I'm going to show you how to further customize it because there's a whole lot of stuff that shows up on the share sheet. So by default close button, Share in shortcut options button, Airdrop button and here. Are all the things in my list. Mail button, Messages button, Paprika button, Mona button, Dropbox button, Good links button, Notes button, Drafts button, Amazon button, Amazon what's.
That doing in there? Ire Explorer button, Joplin button, More button, Copy button, Add to reading list, and so forth. Okay, so you get the idea. There are a whole lot of things there that I may or may not need. So let's swipe back to the more. Button, Copy more button and we'll activate that done button. And you hear we're on a done button. So in the upper right corner is the edit button. Edit button.
And we're going to double tap that Edit. Here are the things that are going to show up in my share sheet. Favorite Airdrop so these are my favorites. Remove mail Reorder Mail button. Oh, there we have Remove things Remove. Messages, Reorder messages Button draggable Remove Paprika 3 reorder Paprika 3 button Remove Mona Reorder Mona button Remove Dropbox Reorder Dropbox button Remove Good links Reorder Good links button Drag Remove notes Reorder Notes button Drag Remove good links.
So let's suppose that I decide to remove good links. I could double tap on it. Remove good remove button and I double tap again. Remove reorder notes button Dragon. It's no longer in my list of favorites. Now if I keep swiping down, I'm going to get to the various suggestions of other apps that I could share this website with. So we'll keep on swiping, right? Remove Draft Reorder Suggestions Reminders Switch Journal Switch button Freeform Switch button off and.
These are either switched on or off. Instacart Switch AmazonSwitch WhatsApp Joplin Voice Dream Substack Zoom ChatGPT Google Fantastic Camp Documents Camp X Switch button Soft See how. Many things are here. Insert new Keep it Switch button Speech Central Switch Pixie Bot Parcel WordPress Beguin Kindle Sweet Tinubians Good links Discord Good links Switch button on there's good links.
It is on in that it will show up in the share sheet. But what if I would like to put it back up in my favorites list? Actions Activate. All right, I'm on the actions part of the rotor and I'm going to swipe up insert and I'm going to double tap on insert Discord Switch button on. Now what that did was it put good links up in my main list. Again, rows 11 to 27 of 40 favorites heading. So now we're back at the top on favorites. So I'm just going to touch the list.
Remove mail Reorder Remove mail Reorder Removed Reorder path Remove Mona Reorder Mona Remove Drop Off Reorder, draw Remove Notes, Reorder Notes, Remove Drafts, Reorder Draft, Remove Good links, Reorder Remove Good links. Okay, so there is the Remove but. Then Reorder Good Links button. Reorder Good Links and you hear it says draggable. So I'm going to swipe up or down until I hear what I want, which I would like to move this up, move up and I'm going to.
Double tap move above Remove Drafts, Reorder Drafts buttons, draggable. So you notice that it's above Drafts now. So I'm going to have to swipe left to find it again. Remove Drafts, Reorder Good links button draggable. Because I want to keep moving it up. So just be aware that if you move it, you do have to swipe a couple of times to the left, move down, move up and swipe to the Move up and double down, move.
Above, Remove Notes, Remove notes, Reorder good links button and drag it on. Remove, move up, move up, move above, Remove Dropbox, reorder Dropbox, remove Dropbox, and so forth.
So now you know that you can reorder these things. But I had to kind of go deep into the share sheet to find the more button and then find the suggestions. And then I made sure to insert, which is not obvious, what that will do for you, but then it inserts it into your favorites and then you can go up to the list of your favorites and move it up or down because I do like to prioritize what I am most likely going to save that item to. So I am sure that I would want to put Sharon's shortcuts in my Good Links app and for further reading and just to streamline the reading list experience and perhaps I'll do another digital bite on Good links. So now assuming that I'm done Done button editing, we'll double tap that.
Done. All right. And just being aware that we're favorites in our Favorites again Done button. And we gotta hit done here. Okay, so now we're back in Safari.
